This was an incredible interview, and a reminder that James and LSS are out to make the best game possible, not just take everyone's money and run off. They make mistakes, but they learn and improve. Very much looking forward to seeing where the game goes over the years 👍

I love how he said play with people better than you and lose a lot, but learn a lot. Ive tried telling new players this and many people just assume they will win right away.
I think this was the biggest most positive news of this entire thing… as I said, in my comment, all parts of the ecosystem need to be hitting on all cylinders for the game to last long-term… market confidence for those who care about those things was at an all-time low before this news. It’s now slightly improved.
Just started the video but want to say that your relaxed interview style where you let the person speak is refreshing and makes it easy to listen along. Chur bro!
As a player who plays casually at home, I own a deck for each hero made of rares/uncommons for my playgroup to use. I really appreciated James saying you can just proxy the legendary heroes. It makes it feel like he doesn't resent me not spending lots of money on single cards to play in tournaments.
Words of a real leader. First concern is the enjoyment of every segment of its customers without any compromission on the overall intellectual quality of the product. The kind of interview where time pass and it's already the end.
Maybe make a FaB-PoE PVE kit loosely connected to tcg model (bosses often drop trash): Players challenging Hillock with fists and grinding toward elder/sirus etc always having new miniset while there is a new PoE league? I have often wondered are they 'rivals' and have more or less big egos also. Because FaB is so close to Path of Exile mentally (at least if played ruthless mode) and would be epic to get items from that game. However I'm not sure what market would overally think about crossover if there were Shavronne's Wrapping in FaB suddenly. Would it be too much like mtg is now. Again, I'd like to see this crossover in FaB, not in mtg! I don't see any reason why there shouldn't be overlapse (except if LSS has other plans for the rich world of theirs). Maybe Path of Exile, played by millions probably, should bring a league where heroes from Aria visits Wreaclast :)
Better do GGG collab before Erik does it with Sorcery. Anyway New Zealand has made the absolute best games for me for a decade and hopefully there is atleast one Battle hardened in North Europe in near future.
My headcannon is that volcor will hire Olympia to become a general. he has heaps of gold and lore wise never loses a fight so 100% hes gonna be in the next set or 2
Restoration of market confidence for collectors and “investors” can help bring balance to the market, which rides the fine line between too low of prices and too high of prices. We were moving dangerously closer to too low of prices, so hopefully this helps restore some ecosystem balance.
@@Righteous_Gaming there is a good amount of cards from Everfest that have a fairly high price and that is a staple in the class, for example Swing Big, Shimmers, Metamorph
@@andreferreira6090 the box price is currently under what stores buy it for. I wouldn’t consider any of the cards high priced, even swing big at $35. Also, the estimated value of opening a box is less than $40.
Really interesting comment there about how LSS has a payoff for Gold in Olympia but it's coming soon. I wonder why they didn't want to release it with the hero in Heavy Hitters? Was is that they want to check the powerlevel of the new hero before providing another power piece? Do they want to disperse the power cards for a hero over multiple sets to reward and keep people interested in new heroes beyond the set they are released in. I've noticed a pattern starting with Riptide... -- Clark
Literally no one is excited to open an M hero. If there is a T hero, that is the exact same, except for name and health, the adult should be T as well imo. It actually hurts competitive play. Especially when they are difficult to open. I had a friend skip an event post EVO because he couldn’t open a M hero out of 2 cases. The problem isn’t so much the scarcity or the price tag, but the fact that you can’t proxy the M hero at an event. A judge can allow it, but you are at the mercy of a judge.
The M heroes make sense for draft, but they shouldn't be so rare to get. I've spoken to people at events, especially when Bright Lights just came out who wanted to bring Dash, I/O but couldn't because they didn't get her in the cases they opened in their playgroup and mail order wouldn't have come in time. And they don't feel good to open when the young hero is just the exact same hero, it feels weirdly punishing to open them because you now have your CC legal version. Give the hero back its token slot, or make them a buy a box promos (stores and groups would have them then, players do like buying boxes and supporting their stores) and then have those Marvel heroes be the exciting thing to open in the boosters themselves.
I live ~30 minutes away from any LGS here in NC, even further from one that hosts FAB tournaments. Unfortunately, the main interaction I get with the game is from content creators on UA-cam, same goes for just about any card game. I collect MTG, FAB, Sorcery, DBZ Super, Pokemon, and I dabble in One Piece and Lorcana. Unfortunately, the main content creators that post regularly, no longer talk about FAB. So I've basically lost my "play group". I have some 1st edition ARC and CRU that I've enjoyed having, but I think it's time I sell soon. I hate that that's the case, but it's a one-sided relationship. Thanks for the interview.
Three thumbs up!! Always great to hear James directly vs. through the grapevine. Thanks for taking the time to keep everyone informed!! Next time when discussing "print runs" (really supply vs. demand), please talk a bit about any efforts to help product from losing half its value shortly after release. Perhaps not selling product to certain retailers for such a low box price that they can undercut the market (and MAP) significantly and still be making a reasonable profit on high volume of sales. The way things are now, selling product shortly after initial release at MAP or higher is just not competitive. It essentially puts every LGS in a position of possibly having to sell below MAP (or even below cost) just to move product off their shelves to make room for new product. It's also kind of a "feels bad" moment when, as a buying customer, you see the same item you paid good money for at release selling for as little as half what you paid for it at a later date.
Completely disagree. For one none of the M heroes have been expensive... if spending 5 bucks is out the window then you're in the wrong hobby. If your issue is you don't want to have to order a card to play then again... this is a challenging hobby you've decided on.
Talking about the rarity of cards, the only thing I disagree with the approach of LSS is that I belong to the profile of players who just enjoy the NF version of cards, and would like equipments to be immediately available in this rarity. I doubt it will change something to the price of others versions, and would simplify the cost of a deck heavily, which is always good when you have no emotional affinity with an hero but want to play it.
Hate the fact that adults stay Ms. If I buy a Booster box, I want to play the game. Not hope to rip an M adult so i am even legally allowed to play it in an Armory or even spend money on it like its a necessary DLC on an EA Game
