    Put loctite on the top 3 bolts and the bottom 2 and torque to spec, if you don’t loctite trust me. Might not happen to you but without loctite vibrations can shake the bolts free and they can slowly work themselves off, trust me I know 😅

    I would have removed the sticker from the top and cleaned all bolts and seating surface of the knuckle (maybe used new bolts if factory service manual calls for that). Using of a torque wrench is a must. But otherwise thank you !

    Why change the spring ? No need to do that on a relatively new car and the disassembly of the struts can sometimes be tricky, so, would have been cool to see that too.

    This took less than 20 minutes to replace. I am getting quotes of $1000 to replace my struts. If I had a garage, I would do it myself.

      Its a bit difficult process and require more labor + tools to change out springs. Quick struts assembly is the way to go.

    Nice video, but that car looks new down there! At least not a car from the northeast (salted winter roads!). The other thing is that the OEM Stabilizer links are not setup to use a wrench on the back like that (no flat sides. Totally round and the Torx method rarely works. You usually need to cut them off).
    How have those TRQ Quick Struts held up for you?

    My left front strut is lower than the right. I’m at 90,000 miles now gonna change it this weekend. My left back shock is out too shows leaking whatever you want to call it . Question, can you post a video asap of where to properly put jack stands ???

      Put it anywhere where you see solid metal. For example: under the lower control arm where it is attached to the car frame. Or on the frame itself.

    Hi,, thank you for making this video. One question though. Are the two large bolts on the bottom side camber bolts for camber adjustments?? It does look like those 2 bolts have non-threaded shoulders for camber...Do I have to get a wheel alignment at the shop after doing this? I know Toyotas use camber bolts for those two bolts so alignment is required after this. Not sure about Mazda. See here where it shows Toyota strut bolts are also camber bolts...ua-cam.com/video/bUJx2GXYBEk/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

    • @Saady2s
      @Saady2s  11 місяців тому

      I doubt if there is any camber adjustment on these. If your tires have uneven wear tread pattern or taking side, I would then take it in for the alignment.

    • @Saady2s
      @Saady2s  2 роки тому +1

      Well I have gone with aftermarket TRQ quick struts which came with warranty. OEM ones to my knowledge does not come as a assembly, you will need to buy individual pieces separately. To avoid that hassle and cost I am happy with aftermarket quick struts assembly.

    Hi there, my 2014 mazda cx5 makes clunk noise when going slow on small bumps. I've been doing a lot of research on it and many people end up changing bushings from the stabilizer arm or just the end links. I checked mines everything looks fine, now I'm starting to think it's my shocks. Noise only comes from the left driver side it's very annoying. Do you have any tips?

    • @Saady2s
      @Saady2s  2 роки тому +2

      In short, I never able to figure out noise myself. If your noise occurs while turning steering wheel, replace your cv half shaft. I replaced every obvious part and check and re-tighten every bolt from underneath. Noise remained.

    • @oldsoul8051
      @oldsoul8051 2 роки тому

      I can relate to your problem , I took it to my cousins shop and he said it can be possibly the strut bushings , In that case you just buy a whole new strut assembly and follow this video , I thought it was my bushings and ball joints and so on , it was simply the struts (front shocks) you can say

    • @davidszymanski3473
      @davidszymanski3473 2 роки тому

      @@oldsoul8051 what front strut ? I also have this problem but I can't understand the meaning of front strut bushing ? Do you mean the part above the shocks, between the body and the coil spring, the one with 3 bolts ?

    • @paulnewman1240
      @paulnewman1240 2 роки тому +1

      Check the end of the steering tie rods first - the cheapest to replace. Secondly these cars are known for issues with rear bushings on the lower arm - the rubber just breaks after a while - known issue. Another thing is the same lower arm pin next to the wheel, that can get lose. Mazda recommends and sells complete lower arms, which are quite expensive, so look up for good alternatives on the market. It's not worth it to try to push some aftermarket bushings - won't last, it will be double spent money.
      I wouldn't touch front struts, until above is thoroughly checked and replaced if needed. Also, if the shock absorber and coile spring are fine, you can buy and replace only the top mount and bearing, no need to replace the whole thing if only the top part is clunky.

    • @davidszymanski3473
      @davidszymanski3473 2 роки тому

      @@paulnewman1240 my issue was noise coming from the transmission mount which totally broke because I allways drive the car like I stole it. Had it replaced and now the noise disappeared. I also had the front lower arms replaced, cause they was starting to look bad. BTW thanks for the explanation.
