Local girl shares experience with American Heritage Girls

Aired August 21, 2024 - School is back in session and Victoria is balancing her time between classes and American Heritage Girls among other extracurricular activities.
American Heritage Girls is a Christian scout-type organization founded in 1995 in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to their website, “the AHG Program is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.”
“I was looking for a fun group to be with and also friends of similar values and beliefs,” said Victoria. “I had another friend who was in it who told me it was lots of fun with exciting outdoor adventures. So, I decided to try it and ever since then, I’ve loved it.”
There are AHG troops across Central Illinois in Peoria, East Peoria, Roanoke, Morton and Normal. AHG is partnered with Trail Life, a Christian scout group for boys.
