It’s definitely slower and less chaotic but the character development and narrative pacing is really good. Nothing compares to CSM tho

The reason why this arc is a movie instead of S2 is pure logistics. Season 1 took up 38/97 (~2/5) of the chapters in Part 1. Part 1 being a hard stop to a completed story A season or story will HAVE to end there to make literary sense. At that pace, the story will conclude in 1.5 seasons. Solution: S1, movie, S2.

One thing about this movie is that the staff is almost the same as S1, the only difference is that they let the CGI department for CSM go. It's unfortunate people lost their jobs but it basically means we're gonna be getting fully 2D animated Chainsaw Man moving forward. I've also heard that the guy who animated/directed the Gear 5 episode is going to be a key animator for this movie and most of JJK S2's staff will also be on this on top of the amazing staff we already had in S1.
Nobody lost their jobs lmfaooo. Mappa is a huge studio with many productions, the team of csm cgi was not fired but instead probably moved to their other shows like dorohedoro, where having a good cgi team will actually work. S1 was 80% fully 2d animated. And the 2d part is most likely because the production schedule is MUCH better than S1, and this is a movie. Also yes, The animator HoneHone or sota Shigetsu worked in one piece, and now is the action director of this upcoming movie. Action director of S1, tatsuya Yoshihara is now the main director of movie or probably, s2 too.
They didn't let go of the CG staff they are still there but have been replaced with other guys, As for HoneHone (G5 guy) isn't just gonna animate it but is gonna direct the action since he's the action director, The JJK S2 staff wasn't Jjk staff to be being with they moved on from CSM S1 to JJK S2 and now are coming back and are likely to go back to Jjk once the CSM movie is finished
