I think the virtual electrics are hitting the uncanny valley wall that 3D animation did awhile ago. I'm glad the industry is moving forward but they still have some distance to cover for sure.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the fact that refilling the water tank is such a hassle. I am assuming that many potential buyers would be hotels and restaurants, and I'm pretty sure they would appreciate automated tank refilling rather than having to manually pump in water every single day or two. If there was a timer that allows people to set auto refills, this thing would basically run itself.
Hey Trevor, which of these fireplaces (if any) allow for a direct water connection such that you can use continuously without adding water? To be more clear, for the direct connect options, are you still simply filling up an internal reservoir from the piped connection or do some pull the water as needed from the water line? If you directly connect the water line, is it still manual every so often to open the spickets to fill an internal tank or can it run continuously without intervention? Does that question make sense?
I think it depends where you place it. We have an unsealed and the mist can be affected by the wind or A/C. I think with sealed your flame will look good all the time.

You can set it up to a water line. We actually dont refill it very much and have it running all day everyday

I'm pretty sure you can connect to it a waterline without intervention. Please call us and double check with one of our salesman they will know.

I love the optimyst due to the real flame but the logs look Plastic. Is there any solution? Logs that plug in to have the burning ember look?
There might be a plug in set. You can also add more colored glass inside.

That water vapor does not produce heat but the Dimplex Optimyst has a heater in it
