Just wanted to post this clip to show off how good this series is, I will be the first person to say I was never a fan of what WHTV were doing in terms of animations, but when they produce animations like this, they have my respect, this is what we should have got from the start, I hope we see more stuff like this.
If Games Workshop feel this clip is not warranted to be posted then please message me and I will take it down, just wanted to show everyone what they're missing out on.
warhammertv.com/
If they had started this with sort of quality I think people would have been more receptive to WarhammerTV.
Yeah but the problem is that now that they are doing it, you guys should give it a try and not bash it.
I still think they'd be better off both financially and in terms of audience reach if they made solid creative-control deals with Netflix or just posted more stuff to UA-cam instead of going the Warhammer+ route. I'm sure their animation channel on UA-cam would be really popular, even if they released stuff to it a whole year later. The buzz around Astartes was insane.
@@warspawnedpainting4380 they’re doing an Amazon deal mate
True enough, I thought that was for live action though or is it animation as well?🤔 @@ChapterMasterValrak
Sister: "You are a cancer upon this galaxy"
The Necron: "You won't believe how I ended up in this metal body and what we did in the past."
Considering the Necrontyr suffered from the radiation from their sun, I imagine the Necron would be more like “ *excuse me* ?”
Sister: "You bring nothing but suffering!"
Skorpekh: " i've suffered worse than you"
“Bitch I’ve had cancer. So much cancer”
The Destroyer seems fascinated by her hatred, almost entertained.
Removes feet from the sister: "Rude much?"
Palatine: “I despise you!”
Destroyer: “Yeah, I despise me too.”
That Skorpekh Destroyer leaning in to hear the sister say that she despised xenos like them before ripping their leg out of her soon to be corpse was coldly amazing. Quite the brutal showing as well. Still, impressive the Sisters of battle were able to beat at least one Skorpekh.
until it is revived :p
@@JoKeRakaAlessandro touché.
I think they got 2! from the looks of it the Palatine was able to down the 2nd with her last plasma round, then looks left to see the 3rd right before he impales her! crazy cool visual storytelling. May her soul now rest in the emperors light.
@@JoKeRakaAlessandrothing is in actuality the necrons fear they might be running out. I know it’s not in any recordable scale but if you live for eternity but have no way to replace numbers (and the necrons do lose people) without organic bodies. The necrons are kinda in the same boat with the eldar in that they are so technologically advanced but can’t even bring about new generations.
I give you a trillion dollars loosing a million doesn’t seem so bad but over millennia kinda adds up.

Sister: “I despise you!”
Necron: “I don’t even know who you are.”
"Hell, I don't even know who *I* am."
Necron: "Get out of my lawn."
Keep trash away from cold.
The detroyer might be some of these most scary type of necrons. Even other necrons are disturbed by their complete ruthlesness and their bloodlust.
Uh hello? Flayd ones?
Flayed ones are scary because you can’t stop the infection. Destroyer Cult is scary because they CHOSE to be nuts.

@@vothbetilia4862well saying you are afraid of the flayed ones would be like saying you are afraid of rabbid animals. That's just logical.
As a Necron fan, we eatin' good with this series boys.
I especially love the brutal efficiency of the Deathmark, a Necron unit that's rarely shown for how cool they are.
There pretty annoying too in the indomitus campaign in tacticus
Not a Necron fan but it was great to have the Deathmark being established as a top tier threat by having it 1v1 an Astartes without much issue
Damnable xenos filth, with their scintillating machines and god nukes! They are a scourge on mankind that must be extinguished!
@@jacopoabbruscato9271they can 1v1 anything as long as they hit it in the head. Neuronal disruption rifle.
I'm sure this has been said before but I'm calling it now; that lone guardswoman following the sister is absolutely going to end up being a figment of her imagination that no one else can see.
Well when they go to over head shots she isn't there
The krieg zombies even ignoring her. She probably just the sister imagination friend since her mind isn't in it best state.
@@rainforcer1 Yeah that's the best guess. Its like in Solar War where the navigator companion was all in Mersadie's head. I didn't catch the hints in that one which made me think it here.
The other guy that made a breakdown video of that first episode also said that it was just an imagination or hallucination of the manifestation of her mother. Either way it’s kinda obvious, even the Salamander didn’t even look at that guardsmen, as if he don’t even see her, which is the case.
@@SordidusFellatio Biggest giveaway honestly is that she hasn't picked up a lasgun at some point yet lol
I love the symbolism of the Palatine speaking for both of them. That they really are one and the same; mindless zealots of an evil empire.
Necron Destroyer: "You are a cancer upon this galaxy. I despise you."
Good and evil in 40k? That adorable.
Fitting for a destroyer who wants nothing more than the elimination of all life
Well you're half right here since there are little to no good guys in the wh40k universe
But i do like me green skeleton robots boys they make me laugh

Gotta love the Skorpekh, slow methodical and vs what weapons' the sisters had, more or less unstoppable. Good to see a GW animation finally do 40k fucking justice.
She had a plasma pistol
@@agent5333 The Palatine killed one Skorpekh Destroyer with her plasma pistol before she got butchered. Still pretty accurate, given how destructive plasma weapons can be.

If that Skorpekh could speak, i think they'd say:

Yeah man. leave the cockroaches alone, I learned that the hard way...
I thought they were essentially mindless and lacking individuality thanks to command protocols, but it seemed to actually enjoy messing with her for a minute. Guess programming hatred into a killer robot does make sense
The funny thing is, all those “dead” Necrons will just get back up once the reanimation signal is given.
No, all Necrons that didn't immediately teleport to the tomb have damaged teleportation mechanism and must be repaired manually or with help of scarabs.
@@zergrush_9704 Not really, teleportation kick in only with VERY devastating damage that cant be healed on battlefield, if damage is not too great, they will ressurect by themeselves on battlefield. And those are dynasties that serve silent king, so they have 100% ressurect protocol efficiency(as its stated in lore that Szarekh armies didnt suffer even a single permament lose in his war after he returned to galaxy), so they dont have risk of it to fail.
@@zergrush_9704 Sometimes reanimation means just sending their engramms back to the tombship/tombworld.
However, some lords choose not to reanimate destroyer/flayer cults.

Don't Necrons get progressively screwed up with every reanimation though?
This has been a really great show so far production values are great

Necron Destroyer: **emotional damage**
ahh my people showing the universe who the real rulers are, long live the Silent King
You mean Lord Imhotekh, right?
What’s that? Your real rulers are riddled with infighting and are slowly decaying, or succumbing to the Destroyer and Flayer curses? :D
@@HiveFleetOni Funny you said that, as its pariah nexus, so those are Szarekh servant and they actually are getting better as time goes on, not worse. All necrons that are return under silent king banner are slowly getting restored. Its probably because from the beggining it Silent king who was meant to be central figure of necrons. So when he severed command protocols, necrons started decaying, but now as more and more dynasties gather under his banner, they are actually getting restored.
@@HiveFleetOnidestroyers are based. Just pure killing.
Is it just me or does media 40k love having the sisters fight necrons. Ive seen them fight more necrons than i have seen admech stealing from them.
The very first battle report with the Necrons is the legendary "Sanctuary 101" from WD 218 (1998). The very first encounter with the Necrons, they didn't have a codex yet, but had a superb battle report vs Sororitas. I was a teen when I first read it and was floored by the mysterious Necrons (back then every Scarab was a little model of its own and not a swarm).
I'm really enjoying the show so far
So everyone in the 9th edition trailer died i was hoping for the Sergeant to lived cause i got the McFarlane version but sadly he got snipe.
And it was glorious
One thing I love about this is the fact that space marine power armor isn't quiet
Besides Raven Guard ones they are relatively silent but they are not suited for anything beyond basic stealth
''You are a cancer'
Bro was like: I know right?
The only thing that bothers me about battle scenes like this is the lack of movement/taking cover/tactics...literally just standing still and firing like it's a target range
there isn't much that can protect you from a gauss flayer, even if you cower behind cover the flayers will disintegrate it because it tears matter apart at an atomic level layer by layer hence gauss flayer
@warbossgrotsmasha23 But if some cover like a pillar can take even that one hit rather than yourself, you're going to do it, superhuman or not. Surviving so you can take down more of the Imperium's enemies. Pointlessly taking hits, especially when each one can be fatal, is dumb. Am I to take it SoB (or others) are this stupid?, I don't think they're supposed to be at least, but it shows different.
I mean… monstrous robot vs cover and tactical thinking. Yeah nah lol the way they went out was badass anyway
@@Drivaawwrrr they're not stupid but power armour tends to make you feel like a god among mortals hence this ferocious zeal that they think the emperor will shield them from any enemy
Faith is our shield!
Sister: "You're a cancer upon this galaxy!"
Destroyer: "bitch that's my line!"
The sound design on the Necrons is fantastic. The clunky, metal gear turning sounds just make them feel way more menacing and cold.
This entire scene did more to tell a complete story about this setting than I could believe possible from GW.
The sheer courage it takes to stand against what are sheer monstrosities.
The cold brutally of the necrons is bang on
"So you're telling me these battle nuns literally chant sermons in the middle of battle? I doubt it."
*The battle nuns:*
The show has been great. I actually wish the episodes were longer
How long are the episodes out of interest?
20 ish minutes@@user-bs4fo7kc2f
The way the music cut off was so poetic, that at the end of all their mantras and belief. There was only a monstrosity waiting for them
Sister: "i despise you"
Necron:"oh yeah? you are the one who got stepped on"
Has anyone in 40k ever heard of seeking cover? By the throne don't just standout in the open shooting lol
No
Space marine or sister of battle rarely take cover because of their faith on god emperor that shield them from incoming gauss blast either way wouldnt it be more tactical if thet did take cover rather then stand there
2 of the sisters are taking cover while shooting back you see them 0:03 the one to the far left and far right are behind cover. But the lady on the top of the hill is short of zelot like where she boost morale while showing strenght for her fellow sister preaching chants while making sure her sisters fights on. If you want people who truly take cover then you should probaly look to the guard regiments the sisters of battle are zealots like where they think the emperor will protect them from enemy fire and that since then there is no need to take cover.
Brave girls. Now you sing your hymns in the emperors light
the Skorpekh reminds of Necron close combat back in 5th and 6th ed. They were slow lumbering robots but when they do get close and get their turn to fight, they really are fearsome.
Sister: Suffer not the alien to live!
Necrons: Joke's on you...
When she said “I despise you” I image the destroyer saying “good”
I love seeing the imperium lose for a change. Brings a smile to my face.
FOUND THE XENO
I mean... they lose most of the time to necrons, if anything, its spooky scare robots who get most of the wins if they showing up.
Pariah Nexus is doing great but why did they have to kill my precious 9th Ed poster boi? :(
He served his purpose.
Order of Our Martyrd Lady, one of the many that were deployed to Cadia during it’s 13th Black Crusade invasion, and the few that survived the decimation of Cadia and then lived to tell the tale.
extreely common necron W
So this is how that 9th edition battle went
If that destroyer could talk I think theyd say something like”the feeling is mutual”
Holy crap that’s amazing!
Sister: "I .... despise you!"
*Necron Skorpekh Destroyer rips his leg out of her and moves on.*
Necron: "GOOD."
Palatine: “Suffer not the alien to live!”
Guardsman: “Get behind cover for Emperors sake!”
Necron Gauss Weaponry: What Cover?
"YOU ARE A CANCER ON THIS GALAXY!"
"I know you are but what am I?"
Amazing animation! Now that's grimdark.
that's some impressive dice rolls on the plasma pistol
some miracle dice were surely used
It's actually pretty accurate. Some guy was complaining about it on Reddit (claimed that plasma weapons are anti-Terminator and should have killed the Skorpekh outright), so I did the math for him. Skorpekh Destroyers are Toughness 6, 3+ save with 3 wounds. Supercharged plasma would wound it on a 3+, and the Palatine hits it on a 3+. So even if she got lucky and hit it with 5 instead of 4 out of 6 shots (because it seems she hit with every shot here), about 3 of those would successfully wound the Skorpekh, who will proceed to fail at least 2 of those saves (6+ after AP -3), and it will eat 4 damage straight.
So yeah, the Palatine taking about 6 shots to kill the first Skorpekh Destroyer sounds about right.
Sister: "I .... despise you!"
*Necron Skorpekh Destroyer rips his leg out of her and moves on.*
Necron: "You have a skill-issue."
What did I miss, why is there a Space Marine in the middle of the final shot?
Have a great weekend Val!
You too, brother!
Sister: "I .... despise you!"
Necron: "Girl who never got fucked says 'what'."
Sister: "What?"
*Necron Skorpekh Destroyer rips his leg out of her and moves on.*
I do wonder how the salamander marine managed to catch all that conversation seeing as it was a retrospective view of what happened to everyone. 🤔 😅
I just imagine him there like "And the sister definitely talked some shit at the necron while it was killing her, probably went like..."
@@zorteshProbably lol

The necron skorpekh does not discriminate, it only eviscerate.
Suffer not the alien to live.

Skorpekh: ok 😃👍
Grim dark love it
For some reason i really want to see that Necron get punched in the face by a Dreadnaught, or stomped on by a Titan.
Well... destroyer blade would cut a dreadnought as just anything else without any issue( Hyperphase blades are awesome, basically power weapon on ultrasteroids!)... so it would only depend who hits someone first. But titan... come on, that a little overkill i think :P
Necron blade can cut throught anything so a dreadnaught fighting against a melee destroyer type is a death wish
I'm happy that pariah nexus is good. love all the small little details. Cannot be compared to Astartes, but still good.
How many episode this series has? I want to wait until then.
I'm beyond happy we got a great portrayal of the Necrons here instead of them being comedy space grandpas. We get to see Necrons talk and also be the silent efficient cold hearted killers. A perfect blend of the old and the new lore. The Necrons don't even have to speak to get their point across. I dislike that so many think personality equates to talking.
Palatine: “I despise you!”
Destroyer: “And that would be one complain to HR for racism and xenophobia.”
I need context, why was the salamander just standing there standing during the end of it?
wow. That's a win for GW.
She should've overcharged her plasma pistol to atleast take one more with her.
Honestly, rooting for the Necrons.
1:16 whats up with that space marine , does he have a scarab or is he just vibin with whats happening??
TAKE MY MONEY!
What happens when a Destroyer becomes a flayed one?
The destroyer cult seems to be immune. It's one of the reasons the destroyer madness is considered to be possibly infectious like the Flayer curse
Flayed one curse or virus involve them craving flesh while destroyer cult wanted well destroy stuff
as pointed, dont think it can happen, as their desires are opposite of one another. Flayed ones are the desire to return to flesh turned into uncontrollable madness, while the destroyer instead want all flesh, all life to be gone since its something they can never have again. If they cannot live, then nothing should.
@@thorveim1174 Thank you for pointing out the distinction between the two. I know next to nothing about necron lore.
