I am also noticing that the water activity is not talked about, but this is just as important. Water activity means the amount of available water for microbes with enzymatic activity. The ideal range for this would be between 0.5 and 0.7. A too low water activity will result in not enough enzymatic acticity to break down chlorophyll, sugars and starches and bring out the terpenes. On the other hand. If the water activity is too high, there is a risk of pathogenic growth inside the bud. Cannabis research is the ultimate step forward!
