They really are hilarious to watch. and they actually seem like really good guys wanting Lionel to do well. Terrific sportsmanship...something you don't see all too often these days.
Haha, so true what Gustav says about many triathletes being boring. I’ve definitely lost a few charisma points since getting into triathlon. Spending all your leisure time on monotonous exercise does have some downsides.
Best shape of my life, most organized and consistent I've ever been, getting up early every day of the week after being a computer gaming night owl my whole life... but now the only thing people talk to me about is "next race?" or "how's training?" since apparently it's all I do. Nothing beats the feeling of being on a start line and about to release the kraken though.
Jan "ironman is like wimebeldon snd I dreamed of it since I was a kid" Long " I cried because Lionel is the inspiration for me to love the sport so to sprint with him now...", Gustav "ironman is a circus and triathletes are boring"
@@robbo3132 haha! I think Gustav has a healthy perspective all things considered. I suppose being passionate about a sport doesn’t mean that the majority of people taking part in the sport are funnier than average. I’d argue that because triathlon training tends to be all consuming it tends to decrease time in other areas of your life meaning less exposure to socializing, travelling, learning other hobbies, reading, consuming media, and other activities which can lead to a broader perspective and sense of humor. At least that’s been the case with me as I’ve become less interesting since getting into the sport. Though I still love the sport.

They say smiling allows you to dig deeper, and in this sport when you have perspective on all that it is and how far you have come you can truly shine as a an athlete and meet your max potential.
Lionel. Great job today. I know it was a difficult track for you, however you put yourself in an uncomfortable situation to get better. That is why you are a bad ass. You are meant to do 140.6. OWN IT and Kona will be yours for the next few years. You and you know who are meant to battle. Both of you will never quit.........Onward you roll and I am very proud of your performance today after that swim....E
Lionels gonna lose some watts if he smiles while he’s on the bike with that gap!….if Lionel controls himself on the bike then it’s, Lionel, Blum, Gustav tmr in that order, heard it here first!
Thoughts on this being broadcast on PTO+ ? I’m half interested in these mashups in the first place and then add another freaking streaming app :) just wondering
I'm not a big follower of triathlon, more just a Lionel fan in general, but that Kristian guy....is he actually that fat or is it just the unflattering white skin suit?
He's mentioned a few times on his YT that he was born with an irregular heart/chest/sternum... which you often see when he's shirtless. My guess is he will cut any 'extra' body fat and/or muscle he may have after Kona, when he starts prep for Paris... His race weight in Tokyo/short course seemed much lighter, so I'm very much guessing he's allowed his body to be more robust for long course, so as not to be constantly on the limit of being immune-compromised, injured, etc. Pure speculation though.
Gustav and Kristian's interactions are priceless. Can't get enough of it

I love the way everyone seems to be alot closer than normal at this race I'm guessing because the PTO are putting all the facilities together
Pretty sick dive at 5:45
These guys together are bringing so much more entertainment and excitement to the sport. Thanks for doing these videos.

He’s just built super barrel-shaped. But there’s not a lot of fat there. Pretty much all muscle
