Cascades White river drainage off Mt. Rainier.
Tree was years dead and just a shell not too far up, in a popular USFS
Campground soo had to be removed.

Now I know the reason for the holding chains around the base! That was a very dangerous tree! Most likely would have barber chaired without them and possibly caused a serious situation!

Spent a lot of time in my youth up in Washington 70's. So you mean to tell me all those clear cuts up there I saw are due to removing "overripe" trees? Loggers have decimated much of Northern Ca. and Washington. They blame environmentalists when there are no trees left to cut.Intelligent group some of these guys. GREED GREED GREED. @@thejackel1844 Sounds like someone here is sensitive about the timber industry and their destructive irresponsible practices (ask the guys in the salmon industry)...Hmmmmm? Frederick Weyerhauser in the 1800's said his intention was to cut down every tree west of the Mississippi. Like I said not all folks in the tree cutting business are the brightest bulbs. Suicide really? No way. Life has been good to my immediate family. Lots of miles to hike and lots of trees to hug. You wouldn't understand sounds like. As long as the old bank account is good and that huge tax refund keeps coming in all is good huh? Go God in 2020 (I meant Trump). LOL!

No, they clearcut 300 year old trees and messed up the riparian zones around the streams that salmon and steelhead USE to use to spawn in. Good job guys! You are an idiot. Keep that chainsaw of yours tuned up. Varoom, varoom LOL! Duh, must cut down big tree, pound me chest varoom, varoom.
