  • Here he demonstrates the rare Low A / High G Alto which was Couesnon´s top model developed with input by Marcel Mule. (from 04:30 onwards). Mr. Marcel Perrin (1912-1996), professor of music education, son of the famous musician (trumpet and cornet with pistons), professor and composer Clément Perrin (1876-1970), he was internationally renowned concert and saxophonist. In 1935, he created the famous 'Saxophone Quartet of Algiers'.
    For his favorite instrument, he composed many works and wrote some books including, in 1955, 'The Saxophone' for which he was interviewed on 27 September 1955 by Pierre Desgraupes in the program 'Lectures pour tous'.

    C'est fabuleux de retrouver cette vidéo..... et j'aimerais trouver d'autres documents concernant Marcel Perrin et son épouse, 2 grands concertistes. Marcel Perrin était le professeur de saxo de mon Papa au conservatoire d'Alger (années 1951 et 1952)

    Fabulous to see / hear this. I am a Cousenon fan with an alto from 1960
