MC Jerky CBN I totally get it man. I'm currently studying music Ed at my local university. My main instrument is Saxophone. I'm playing this piece in its entirety.
@@thekid8163 After playing it, and getting up to tempo, i realized it’s actually a relatively easy piece. Mvt 1 just flies through your fingers at full tempo, Mvt 2 is slow and pretty, mvt 3 is fast but short, Mvt 4 is slow and pretty again, and Mvt. 5 is the hardest of them all. Don’t stress you’ve got this:)
I played this when I was in 11th grade for solo and ensemble in Minneapolis! I remember getting high marks and listening to this again makes me want to really dive back into sax.
Yes, Marcel Mule is playing here. The pianist is Solange Robin-Chiaparin. Paule Maurice (1910-1967) composed the piece in the years 1954-1959 for Marcel Mule himself.

Pat Lemanczyk Alex that is because being a musician it is a risk sport bro

Moving your fingers fast enough for the 5th movement is basically an Olympic sport lmao
@@TheSaxAppeal Off course!
I like the piano accompaniment over the orchestra one.
I love this piece, I first played this in 11th grade for solo and ensemble festival in Detroit. My Dad was really pushing me back then.
I’m playing this for solo and ensemble as an 11th grader this year. I love this piece.
@@ericratliff217 playing it as a tenth… nervous about it tbh

RayarX If you count the sax as a voice, yes, it is a song
Superb playing by both .
Probably my favourite recording of the fifth movement
Incredible virtuosity. Perfectly even, articulated semiquavers at ~150. Nothing like French players playing French music fast
Truly a legend. Wow.
Go pizzuto go!

Es un cuento muy bello pero... sí lo sabemos jaja
Can I more information on the recording of this piece please? Is it recorded by Marcel Mule himself? What year and who's the pianist?

The pianist was Solange Chiapperin and she told me herself (when I was at the Paris Conservatory) that she never got paid for this recording...

@@plazmakiller11, same. Can you send the Alto music
Amazing technique, horrible vibrato.
Rein Meer that is pretty characteristic French vibrato. Basically very fast and deep for some reason.
Ikr. That vibrato makes my ears hurt.
The vibrato sounds awful...
You sound awful
thanks
+Elricfonfabre12 he uses a french vibrato. that's how it's supposed to sound. it has a way different sound to it but it works for some pieces
So true..it sounds like someone is hyperventilating into the mouthpiece
+Elliott Miller it's great, but I definately agree that this vibrato does not fit the piece.
