I'm not sure it you will even read this but first I must say I enjoy watching your videos and wish I had found you sooner. My girlfriend and I were victims once in a scam and it was ingenious. My girlfriend found a website to get paid for advertising on her car and she called them. They sent her a cashier check to pay for the month off advertising she would do for getting her car wrapped with a logo. The amount was to be 400.00 dollars they gave her a tracking number and mailed it to our house. When the check arrived it was for 2900.00 dollars and she went to the bank and deposited the check. 400 was supposed to be ours and the rest was for the guy coming to wrap the car car. The amount of the check showed in our checking account and the guy came to wrap the car. They told her to go to the bank and get the money they had sent but the catch is the check would bounce 3 days later and they were already gone with the cash. Thankfully I told her not to pay until the check cleared the bank or otherwise we would have been scammed. I thought it was pretty slick of them and they almost got away with it. I wish I still had the phone number to the scammer to give it to you for investigation 🔎
Hello, good evening (welp, where I live). Besides "customer service" phone call scams....what are some other types of scammers you feel the world should know about? My mom is 68 and is always asking me "what should I do, here?" Sometimes, I have no idea and I am 32 and am the future of technology.
This guy needs to go on the FBI and Interpol Most Wanted list. If he ever leaves India for the US or Europe again, he should be arrested and face trial.
My thoughts too! U.S. should have his name flagged amd if he comes back be held by customs to face charges!

Unfortunately US law will deem that he’s been assumed guilty before trial and it would be thrown out. (Same reason why so many people get away with DV, victim name and shamed abuser, THEN goes to court and the judge laughs the case out the door.
I think you're right Indian Govt. is very complicated and they find it difficult to take action. US is losing so many billions of tax payers money to Indian scam centers which even India Govt is not getting. Kudos to you for not telling anyone how you figured out what he looks like. As a former law enforcement officer, it drives me crazy when the LE agencies tell the media how they caught someone and then the media reports exactly how the bad guys got caught. Granted, some bad guys will still be suseptible to being caught using those same investigative techniques but many are smart enough to pay attention and not make the same mistakes…

I don't know how I got into Scammer's Payback but I started to binge watch a day ago. I am 72 years old, retired, and was thinking how you can help my country, the Philippines. Just last month there have been scam call centers caught by the NBI [ our equivalent to the FBI]. The employed scammers are not only from the Philippines but illegally transported mostly from Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, our neighboring countries. The last big catch was 3,000 illegal call center agents. I have had my share of scam too.😒

I was almost victimized by this group on a loan scam. Thank goodness my bank called me while I was on the phone with them! Chas Bank told me they had hacked into my investment account! Fortunately, a very alert employee realized what was happening and immediately called me! Thanks for all you do to keep us alert and informed!!

Scammers are coming up with new ways all of the time. Even though I know a lot about this stuff, I am still afraid to get scammed. I have scammers going at me every other day now because I pissed them off one day when they called me, thinking that they were going to get something. But my point is, we all have different experiences, and different minds; and we all see life differently. I especially know this as an autistic person. Getting criticized for missing something that's supposedly obvious, taught me that I can't be myself, but everyone can. It makes one feel degraded. A lot of people won't perceive the world the same way I see it, but that's totally okay with me. My senses are even more pronounced, which is only a fraction of the reason why I perceive and experience the world differently. But there are some benefits to my autistic traits as well, that I wouldn't want to change. Finally I am at an age where I have accepted myself, wouldn't want to change, and what other people think about me is none of my business. But in all sincerity, I am not trying to rip your head off. You seem like a decent person.

It's not okay and these people need to be held accountable.
My father in-law past away and left a nice chunk to the family. But before anyone got their inheritance the mother in-law got scammed and went through about 300k of his hard earned money he left behind. So basically no body gets their inheritance. It is pretty sad how these scammers target old and grieving people.

It's a lot bigger than you think, they run scams in India too, but here they have the freedom to use their own "accent" 😂. My dad is a businessman and since his mobile number is out there, he gets a lot of scam calls, and he loves to mess with them till the end then just cuts the call.

I got two text messages on Thursday that said that my Amazon account is locked because of security reasons. It also had a link to some kind of customer aid server. I don't even have an amazon account, so I blocked their contact info which was a bunch of letters and numbers. I also delated the messages from my phone. I know they were scammers. I am 19 years old. I love the work you are doing. Let us take down the scammers once and for all!

Maybe sure you always have a MFA/code that goes to an alternate number/email with a six digit code. This is enforced on the highest of IT organizations. Change your bank settings to let you enforce it before transactions or go do it in person.

But then I got cautious and checked my amazon account first which seemed to be in a good shape...

I had one of these a**holes call me a few weeks ago. Got to the point where he wanted me to download AnyDesk from Google Play store and I SNAPPED, mentiobed SCAMMER PAYBACK and he hung up IMMEDIATELY

A friend of mine who works for Tech Mahindra told me that he used to work for a scam centre. However, he was not aware that they were scamming people. They are told that they are working for Microsoft and Amazon support only. Once the customer is convinced they are transferred to senior agents who are the actual scammers. Manier times the Senior agents sit in a different building altogether or a different room. So these new agents dont know how the scam happens. If they question much they are told that the money which is taken from the US customers are refunded by the government. No one loses money. Pity on those who fall for these lies and be a reason for scamming people.
I think that you protecting vulnerable people is kind! I am an elderly woman who is disabled and someone called and claimed that they were going to arrest me if I didn't give them money. It is frightening even though I know it was a scam, please keep up the good work.
Just remember no US agency will EVER ask you for money over the phone. You can always ask for a phone number to call them back. A legitimate agency will give you the number and let you call them back. Then you Google the name of the agency, Social Security Administration or IRS or what have you, and you call the real number for that agency. Explain what happened and they will help you.I'm glad you didn't get tricked!

I just got Social Security last year and my health is not great, (the nasty cancer bug bit me in the kidney), so the fact that people still care is a great lift of spirit. Thanks to you all 😀
its also why i refuse calls that i do not know period, I use google Fi for my cell service and they monitor incoming calls and even text messages and mark them as spam and you dont hear it ring or the notification, other than a sound indicating they blocked such and such. You CAN however, if it was a bad block, like from someone you know but dont have in your contacts, still see it. It really helps, ESPECIALLY with the robocalls :)

You are doing God's work by saving and protecting those who can't protect themselves and who simply just don't KNOW better. Since I am aware of scams in general, I've been talking to the elderly and people around me about it. I even had a part time job beside my main job and I was working for a energy company in customer service. Those people were mostly elderly who called me and we had scammers going on and calling them to join their "company" to save themselves from high gas prices and at the end of the day, they lost everything. That's why I weht ahead and changed my main job to that part time for the time span of the year, where the prices where getting higher and these scammers even worse. I am not even close to what you have done so far but what I can say is that it feels just wonderful to just be ABLE to do something. And that just because I saw your videos back then. Many people don't even know about these scams because they are not familiar with them, so by sharing this, you also raise awareness for all generations as well, so as many can be helpful to others by telling them about these monsters.
I can't thank you enough for what you do, selflessly and full of love, care, dedication and full force.
You are what the world needs and you deserve to be loved and appreciated so so much!

When I ask them if they tell their mothers about the fact that they are criminal scammers they usually go silent and I tell them they should be ashamed. I think their parents hearing their scams and horrible language would make a difference.

It absolutely sucks that the local authorities that can bag these people within minutes are not doing anything about these scams. Maybe there's a hand in glove situation going on there.
I tried to report scammers to police, with lots of data and information in my hands, but they just don't give a f**k about it, especially if you got scammed for the police is just your fault, for them was more important to make jokes cause i got scammed then trying to help me. That was embarrassing and sad. So yeah, this guys are awesome, we really need this kind of help, they're all modern heroes
This happens in all of the countries. I'm not even going to be surprised if they are tied with one of a politician. I mean, their main base of operation is IN THE SAME BUILDING as a news agency. I doubt that they didn't know that there were scammers there.
They absolutely have a "hand in glove" situation going on. I have a few Indian friends that I work with and one of them has a father who is in law enforcement there. He's told me many stories about how corrupt the policing is there, all the way up to their government. Essentially if you have money you can make anything go away

@@judymiller5154 unfortunately the majority are disproportionately in India. This is due to their massive population and the easy availability of recruiting people coming out of college with computer skills. It is obviously something the Indian government needs to crack down more on.

You can obviously know if someone has indian accent. But there are a lot more sophisticated scammers out there. Especially those who use professional rethorics and speak perfect english.
Pierogi, thanks for your great videos. Your work saved me thousands of dollars today. I got a Missed Jury Duty scam call (from someone in the USA, it seems). He was very convincing, but as the call went on (and on and on) I started getting lots of red flags that I wouldn't have known about if you and others weren't sharing how scammers operate. You saved me and my family, and I'm so thankful for what you and other scambaiters do to educate and help us all.
New one (?): they piggy back a *real* local person's number, and play the "Border & Customs" scam.
I used a private number and called back, thinking I'd get a call center.
What I got was a lady that lives nearby and WASN'T a mule and was freaked out. I advised her to call her provider immediately.

My neighbor next door is Indian. He bought gallons of pest control liquid from Home Depot, used it, filled up the water back in, then returned back to Home Depot. He has no shame to brag about it in front of me. No, no shame….at all.

On Thursday I had received 8 calls from "Amazon " and was finally able to get them to cease by mentioning your UA-cam site, as soon as they heard your name they hung up immediately and I didn't get a single call since. I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and information on various scams. Thank you, and keep going on and getting these evil monsters.
The scammers don't feel shame for what they do. A better way to deal with them is to have them imprisoned and money confiscated or better, returned to their victims.

These guys were that group of kids in school that played dungeons and dragons on Saturday night instead of partying then they’d play super mario brothers until 5am then get on their 90’s computers and read hackers for dummies for hours. Thank god they grew up to use their genius for good and not evil

I was at the other end of one of the Amazon calls. They got into my computer. They were looking into my files then he wanted bank info. I told him my bank name. Then the light went off. Hungry up called Amazon and they said they never call a customer. He said to unplug the computer and take it to a computer repair shop. Took it to a big box store and told them to "Hilary Clinton" my computer. It's now clean, no damage done......love your site.

I actually almost fell for an IRS scam as a 19 year old. I only caught it when I talked to my mom (who has some sort of finances degree) and she said that the IRS doesn't do that so it's likely a scam.
The IRS are worse than the scammers
If you can find and close down these scammers, why don’t the police do the same thing.
