Good morning, Sarah! So nice to have you back. Thank you for sharing your holiday with us. I love camping. I went several times each season with my niece and nephews and grandchildren. I wish I could shop in the yarn barn. Amazing! When you showed the 20 balls of white wool, I thought you were going to say it was for a fisherman knit sweater. That would be beautiful. Whatever you make will be wonderful.
I was so excited to see your happy face pop up on YT today!! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely vacation, yarn purchases, and walk in the woods. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful break = many heart-jumping moments.
Even when comments/messages are positive, it's still a lot to take in, not to mention, all of the amazing projects one sees on IG; it's overwhelming!

I feel your pain...its been pouring here for awhile. The picnic table was lovely. A perfect use for your family during inclement weather. Rest up and enjoy your time home.

Thank you for another lovely podcast, I love how you are so calm and relaxed, it makes me feel the same way when I listen to you, I go camping also with my husband, we have a vintage trailertent made from canvas, its so cosy, it creates so much curiosity when its pitched amongst all the modern tents, the weather here in Ireland has been very very wet all Summer, but we just have to enjoy what it is. ☘☘☘
Beautiful camping and morning walk videos! I too was not supposed to buy a lot of yarn in 2023. I did ok in January, but since then I’ve convinced myself that I need a little bit here and a little bit there. Maybe I’ll do better next year 😀.

It's so nice to see you again! Welcome back! I'm sorry you had rainy weather on your holiday, but you really made the best of it, it seems. I'm so impressed with all the yarn you bought. I always look for yarn shops wherever I travel. Sometimes I even choose a city based on the yarn shop(s)! 😅

My great grandparents were born and raised in Friesland before they moved to the USA. Their surname was DeBoer. If you would ever visit the area of Michigan where I live you would feel very much at home. Lots of Dutch names of people, cities, towns, businesses, and products. Also, the land is very similar and we have large fruit farm’s including blueberries.

Welcome back! I do agree that it’s nice to have a break from social media now and then, especially when spending time in nature. I made the Arctic Light Sweater earlier in the year and I absolutely love it. I’d never done cables before but the tutorials made it easy. I’m also planning to make the Salty Days Sweater later on in September. Yours is going to look lovely in that yarn 😊

I know how you feel about buying yarn this year! I said I wasn't going to buy yarn this year too but my husband and I took a trip on his motorcycle to the mountains in Montana (here in the US) and we found a couple yarn shops... of course, I had to buy some!

I have issues with the look of the Arctic Light Sweater, too. For me it's the Raglan line. It looks so tight and uncomfortable. Because of that I bought the Salty Days Sweater and it is perfect.

Always a pleasure to watch ;) I'm the same when it comes to shoes in the summer lol. I always can't wait for the day I can put away the shoes and stay bare feet till fall! My dog is very old and I looked everywhere for a basket large enough for him to put on my bike. I gave up and bought a baby carriage, so when his hips get too sore and he stops, I put him in the carriage and walk him. Poor little 'Jr', but he loves it ;). Have a wonderful day, Sunshine

Came across a heart jumping pattern which made me think of you. It is the Beach Walk blanket by Marion Mitchell and is made of granny squares and stripes. Her colours were inspired by her beach walks in Scotland?

I also dislike cramped camping spots, I like peace and quiet!

I just wanted to mention that UGG’s makes a clear waterproof boot. If you can purchase them in your country then you’ll be able to enjoy your knitted socks during the rain. 😜😂. I enjoyed watching your camping experiences. Thank you for taking us along.

Great to have you back. Missed your twice weekly visits. Your holiday looked lovely, despite the rain and how can you complain when you visited two knitting shops. Lol! The forest in the Netherlands is quite different from our forests in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. We have lots of hills, very steep ones and lots of evergreen trees. On our hikes, we do need to wear good shoes, although like you, I mostly wear my Birkenstocks in the summer.

I agree about the fit if arctic light, I think it looks tight under the arms. The raglan looks like slipped sts, so perhaps that’s why? 🤷♀️
