My fathers kindle wasnt turning on so we opened it thinking there was an issue with the battery, but then we realized if the light was turning green it had to be the screen, after reasearchinf a lot i found your video and I just cant express how grateful I am. First try and it came back to life as if a miracke has happened, easy and quick, truly thank you soooo much, it meant the world to him. Truly apreciate you.
Many thanks Nigel, other sources said hold button/re-boot for 40 seconds which had not worked. You saying 3-4 minutes gave me hope. Sure enough after a couple of minutes it re-booted (from a fixed white screen for the past day) & all my books are still there too. Cannot thank you enough ... but thanks!
Hi Toonses Thanks for your message. It appears from your comments that you still have access to the kindle. In this case my first thoughts are that the problem must lie with the book publication. Many publishers on Amazon are new to Kindle Publishing and are not adept at formatting their books correctly before uploading to Kindle. Therefore , I do not think that this action would fix your problem. Best wishes , Nigel
Nothing seemed to happen BUT after holding the button for that time and releasing it, and then going back to the standard procedure of holding it for 3 flashes, it came back to life. I don't know what did the trick, but it's back to normal after doing it, so I'm not asking! Thanks.
Hi I recommend that you fully charge your kindle and try again. If this fails it is often the case that the battery is not fully charged. Hope this helps
Nigel, I've downloaded many books, and I've just noticed in the last day or so that I'll have a white (blank) page here & there in the book. At first, I thought it was just the particular book, but I've just noticed that it's happened in another as well. Would this fix work for something like that?

+simplyvirtuous1 The half screen problem has no known (as yet) repair other than to replace your screen. If you have recently bought I would get back in touch with Amazon to see if they will replace it.
