What are your favorite budget-friendly foods to pick up at Aldi?
I always get the pepperoni or salami slices in the big mega bag. Great for a quick lunch or snack. There is so much in there it last forever.
Milk, eggs
Pasta, 59c (euro cents) for a big bag of tagliatelle and you only need 1 or 2 of the balls per serving😁
Aldi Rotel tomato with green chilies. 39¢ for a small can, which is a good size for our small family. I buy it by the case.
Not budget but 💖💖💖 the Kirkwood Breaded Breast fillets that taste like Chic-Fil-A
A great budget treat is what we call "banana smudgies": mash a pretty ripe banana with 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter and spread between two graham crackers, then flash freeze. Like an I've cream sandwich. Especially if you want a dessert treat but don't want to spend on ice cream or cookies, this leaves you with leftover grahams and options. Plus they're delicious 🤤
Sounds amazing!
Thanks for sharing. I just found this channel recently. I've found my people!
Cooking while being frugal is actually quite fun because you can be creative.
@@microbios8586 I totally agree!!
I may have to try this
Thank you for sharing this!! What an awesome snack!
The Aldi dupes for Girl Scout cookies taste just like the real thing!
Definitely!!!
Yes, I saw some cookies that looked like GS cookies -- they were circles of caramel and coconut. Wonder if they were as good?
@@margarettalbot8486 just the same, they also have the chocolate/peanut butter cookies...super delicious!!!
I just tried the lemon ones last week...so good!
I think they’re better than the Girl Scout versions.
Aunt maples protein pancake and waffle mix. Way cheaper than Kodak pancake mix
Yes! And tastes a lot better too!
This is the best!
ALDI cottage cheese is my favorite ALDI product. I often take a container and leave it in my lunchbox at work. I just add a few forks and eat from the container all week. I’ve been known to also pack some small containers of produce and eat with it. Lunch is always ready in the break room refrigerator.
As I'm watching this, I was getting a bowl of Aldis cottage cheese for breakfast along with some peaches mixed in it!
Aldi’s evaporated milk is 65 cents a can. It’s more than a dollar at the grocery store across the street. I use it in my coffee as the creamer, so I go through 2 cans a week.
Prices are usually good around the holidays so I try to stock then. I have been shocked lately at how expensive it is off holiday. This is good to know, Mary Jo. Thank you.
I bought a whole case of evaporated milk yesterday 😊
Evaporated milk is THE thing to put in Chai. I’ve tried so many alternatives, and evaporated milk really boosts the flavor. Better than cream, and I LOVE cream.
Love their Mama Cozi fresh pizzas. They are huge and are less than $6. We do an Aldi haul once a month because its 30 miles away. We buy several pizzas and throw them in the freezer.
Okay, I got some footage of the pizzas, but I forgot to include it! You are right, those take and bake pizzas are a great value!
I agree completely. We stopped ordering out pizza because of them. Given we never did it often but it did some us a few bucks for sure
They are so cheap, that my friend uses them as a snack for his young boys.
My nearest Aldi is 100 miles away, so in any town/city that we are in, I find an Aldi and stock up on eggs, peanut butter, spices, and can goods.
I make extra stops at Aldi for frozen wild caught salmon, organic peanut butter (only ingredients are peanuts & salt), and they have great gluten-free and vegan options for unbelievable prices. We're big Aldi fans in Georgia!
@Michele Harold, 👋 Fellow Aldi loving Gerorgian 🍑 here!! What part of GA are you from? We live about 30 mins south of the Atlanta Airport.
@@brandyfreeman4098 we’re a mile outside Atlanta in Decatur. I’m fortunate to have 3 Aldi’s within 15mins from me!
Half & half! $1.55 per quart at my location, and there’s no comparison for value and taste.
Also a regular buy for me. Also the heavy whipping cream is a staple. Great for keto!
Aldi’s is absolutely the best! One of my best hints for a DIY is to make my own instant oatmeal. Easiest thing ever! I use quick cook oats and measure out 6 cups. I then whiz up 3 cups in the food processor and mix them back in with the remaining 3 cups. I usually add 1 T. Of cinnamon to this mix and store the mix in an airtight container with a 2 T. Scoop. Use just like the instant packets by pouring boiling water over them and adding your favorite add ins such as raisins, nuts, etc if you want a super delicious and creamy oatmeal, add in a big spoon of peanut butter when you add your boiling water. We always add it to our oatmeal. You can make smaller or larger batches by using the 1 to 1 ratio.
Y'all just don't know how blessed yall are to have an Aldi. My nearest one is 100 miles away. Every town or city we are in, that's the first thing I look for.
No Aldi in Canada, so I live vicariously through you 👍🏻
K some people think I’m crazy but I used inexpensive pasta sauces as a base Chili for years! Garlic and onion or cline with cheese were my preferences! I still do it in a pinch for a super fast chili!
Greek Yogurt, at Aldi is $3.24 on my area. At another grocery store they are over $5 for the same size.
So true! I like that they have whole milk greek yogurt, too!
Yes! Their whole milk organic is insanely cheap compared to the name brand version at Walmart!
@@brittanykeith9561 I love their organic yogurt and it’s so much cheaper!
@@SeeMindyMom That's the ONLY kind I buy!
@@brittanykeith9561 And a name brand version at Weis.
Don't forget Paprika for your spice cabinet! It is so good when roasting diced or wedge potatoes and baking chicken. It is also great in tuna or potato salad! Great video
Good call!
Their half and half and heavy whipping cream are almost half of what other stores charge.
Yep. That's what I was going to say
I love their corn chips 69¢ You can’t beat that. They taste so good on chili.
❤️❤️❤️Thanks for your video❤️❤️❤️
So true! Thanks, Danielle!
Yup
You can use their corn chips on tortilla soup as well. Yum!
FOR SURE! They are frequently the base for our taco salad. We use a can of chili instead of making up taco meat. Quick, cheap and easy.
The “blooper” reel was fun to see. 🤣
I like their coffee!!!
I just got my boyfriend their coffee fingers crossed he'll like it I can't beat that price!
I love shopping at Aldi! Eggs have been increasing in price at my Aldi recently. This winter there were $.69! Now they are almost $1. Bagels and tortilla chips are usually a good deal at Aldi too. I like how small, organized and easy it is to shop there. I dread going to Walmart because I will end up being there for over an hour and haven't even gotten that many things.
That is so true, it's a much smaller store, and easy to navigate.
I’m in Hawaii es $3-5 lol
Love the bloopers at the end, Mindy ! Made me smile when I watched it 😊❤️
I'm so glad! Sometimes we just gotta laugh at ourselves, right?
I've commented before when you did a potato with cottage cheese. I enjoy my potato/cottage cheese meal with the addition of fresh diced tomatoes and spices or with salsa. Cottage cheese is also delicious with fruits (remember the salad bar days of the 80s, lol?) For those who do not care for cottage cheese on its own, I highly recommend trying variations of it as an addition with other items. It can be a wonderful canvas.
Great idea!!
I learned, years ago, from a Jewish friend, to eat a mix of cottage cheese with jarred grapefruit slices....awesome. But I can't eat grapefruit any more due to the heart meds I'm on.... :-(
Yvonne Palmquist if you ever travel to Austin TX there's still a restaurant called Souper Salads. I used to take my boys all the time when they were little now they still eat their veggies. How funny is that? 🤩🥰
I LOVE the Aldi Greek yogurt. It’s non fat Greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom for .59 cents. Compared to Chobani at $1.22! I love to pack one in my lunch for work or have one for a snack on the weekends. So yummy!
I saw they had a copycat of the Chobani flips, too! I have wanted to try those.
@@SeeMindyMom those are really yummy too! They have a few that randomly pop up at my Aldi and they are delicious!
Love the outtakes 😂 We really enjoy the milk which is about half the price of local grocery stores. My favorite thing is salsa. Our store has it for $0.89 and you can use it on chips, add it to tacos 🌮, season ground beef for salsa sloppy Joe’s, coat chicken to make tortilla crusted chicken, mix with cheese to make dip and so much more. We like to blend ours to give a smoother texture and bring out the flavor more. Yum!
I use pasta sauce for shakshuka with eggs and potato
Onions, carrots and potatoes must be the cheapest thing you can buy considering the volume and nutritious value, in terms of fresh produce. Onions and potatoes can make a great hash brown / fried potatoes or even great base for spanish style omelette if you have eggs. Carrots and onions can make a carrot soup where you could add any noodles or sour creat, while all three veggies together can give you some kind of stew / curry base which will also taste great and fill you up for a while. Each one of these veggies is a staple and I bet they are also mostly cheap and available in the majority of the northern hemisphere.
Hi, I got this tip from ‘frugal fit mom’, she gets her pasta for 27cents for a small bag in the Italian isle, this is to help with your cheap grocery hauls as your ideas have helped me so much so thanks 😊
I live in Rhode Island an food prices have almost tripled. I haven't been to Aldis yet, after watching this video, my next market day will be there.
A cheap fun snack I like to make for my daycare kids sometimes is graham crackers with a thin layer of chocolate frosting or pudding. We either make a cookie sandwich that way or leave the open faced and put a little sliced banana or strawberry on it for a fruit "pizza". We've also frozen the cookie sandwiches and they turned out super tasty that way too!
Great idea!
Great ideas ! Thank you 😊
Loved this very helpful.
Loved the bloopers at the end.
LOVED the bloopers 😍
Love your channel so much!!!
Tortellini, inthe pasta section, $1.49. Love it.
Cottage cheese - with fruit (pineapple, pears or even peaches. I also put it in my omelette egg bites. So good.
I love the crunch oats on yogurt idea.
There's an oatmeal bites, with peanut butter and honey (and flax seeds and dark chocolate nibs/chips) for a healthy snack
Thanks for sharing 😁
Love the video!! Thanks girl!❤️💯
All of your tips are Great! I love the ending as well!!!
I get all the items for Taco Tuesday at Aldi - especially taco seasoning packets, refried beans, tortillas, sour cream, and beef or chicken depending on what we are having. Also the sub rolls and bagels are a staple and so much less expensive than anywhere else! I could go on and on. I pretty much shop at Aldi exclusively! 😊
Great ideas! Thank you!
I snagged a 5# bag of Jasmine rice at Aldi last week for $2 (marked down). Another tip is to keep an eye out for the expiration date on the meats / salmon in the meat aisle -- if the exp date is only 2-3 days out, chances are, if you go back to Aldi the next day, it will be marked down, same for bread, etc. I snagged a bunch of their amazing Mediterranean fresh salmon for 30% (it's already a good price, so that's a great price!). It was one of those times I could only wish I had a deep freezer and a lot of extra room in the grocery budget. I've also snagged whole chickens and bone-in chicken breasts for 50% off.
bread, peppers (multi color), almond milk, hummus, canned anything (way cheaper than walmart). Cereal (Raisin bran) and discount meat.
Love your videos thanks 💘
I put peanut 🥜 butter instead of syrup on my pancake. Taste great, fills you up,and not messy to chew or eat.
Plus your protein is in. Sharen
Sharen Reid: I've added a tsp of peanut butter into my cream of wheat or malto meal for a nice flavor for my breakfast. I typically dont eat breakfast so it's got to be a fast meal. :)
Hi Mindy! I enjoyed this video! I like your shirt! 😊💛
I love the bloopers!! Great info too!!
Glad you like them!
Aldi has great prices on coffee !
One of your best videos yet!!
Hawaiian rolls and bread are way cheaper at my Aldi...Loved the bloopers at the end! Thanks for making me laugh! 😂
Love your Glasses
Another great buy at Aldi is lunchmeat ! They have the best prices for a one pound container of ham or turkey and it’s delicious ! Also the grass fed organic ground beef is delicious and a really great price compared to a grocery store. You and I basically keep the same items in our pantry !
Lisa, the grass fed beef is a frequent buy for us, too!
Agree on all seasoning
Thanks for reminding me about Aldi. 😊 My hubby likes to get Aldi's canned beets. They're only 68¢/can, which is cheaper than anyplace else! We also like the produce at Aldi. It's good quality at great prices, as long as you get there before it's gone!
Aldi Taco items are a great deal. Salsa is great. Chips? Tortillas etc..
Graham crackers and applesauce was my kids go to snack for a long time.
New sub here. Just wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying your videos. I am working on getting my grocery budget under control and your tips are very helpful. Thank you 😊
Thanks so much for the kind comment! Glad I can be helpful!
I know I'm super late to the party, but I love love the Aldi dark chocolate hummus and their shredded gouda cheese! So good for homemade Mac and cheese mixed with some cheddar.
I love Aldi! I miss having one!
Their candy is really good. Along with their ground turkey and milk.
Great video. We love so many things at Aldi!
Good Morning Mindy. I love Aldi and I definitely get my produce and riced cauliflower there. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend :)
I like Aldi’s pepperoni especially the Turkey pepperoni when they have it in stock.
Agree with all your picks
I haven’t been to Aldi in years! Might have to check it out again.
It was worth staying til the end I got a good chuckle on seeing your reaction when he heated up his coffee....thank you for the advice and giggles
Love you so patiently waiting on his coffee.
🤣 I thought it was a semi-patient moment... that facial expression!
I gotta try our Aldi!
We have left over birthday frosting. Graham crackers are a must on my list today!
That was a favorite treat my dad used to pack in our lunches when we were kids!
Ha ha. I do that too. Sometimes I just get a hankering for canned frosting and it goes on the grocery list with a box of graham crackers.
Oohhhh that sounds good! Hadn't thought of that. I love Nutella too.
I used to LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!!!! I can’t have peanut anymore so I have to spring for almond butter.
Thanks for your videos thanks 💘😊
I just stumbled over one of your videos and I really enjoyed watching it!! love your ideas! 😊 Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
Thanks so much! 😊
Love Aldi and their prices !
Love your videos thanks 💘god bless you and your family 👪🙏❤😊
I always get kcups and creamer there! Always the best price!
I love getting sour cream and tortillas at Aldi, they are def the cheapest in my area and so many ways to use them!
Aldi is just the absolute best. Love their protein pancakes. And their low sugar oatmeal that you mentioned is so dang good
They are building an Aldinnear me and I cannot wait!
Where I live my aldi sells the block cheese for 1.69. Such a steal
Always stock up on the different salsas they have.
Their nuts and trailmixes are also good price, I like the one with the peanut butter cups and big cherries
🤩Very informative video. I love Aldi & their great prices! 👍fun bloopers at the end of your video! 😂
Glad you like them!
Their vegan options are cheaper than Publix. I especially like their veggie burgers! We all like their pizzas. Our daughter just had her birthday party, and we did all of our shopping at Dollar Tree and Aldi.😁
We love the spinach or sundries tomato wraps. Taste better than the name brand, bigger, and less calories.
I was making prepping my homemade granola for the week as I was watching this video with oatmeal I purchase from ALDI which is the best price around. Fresh fruits are always a must here too.
Mindy your kids are smart I do the same thing with a tortilla peanut butter and banana
Our Aldi has the eggs at .85!!! I was blown away!
Great video
Went there today in NYC, the prices are about 40 cents more here per item, but still better than supermarkets and great quality.
You're a lifesaver. I'm an adult returning to college for a second degree after COVID. As everyone knows college is expensive and I'll have less time to work to make sure I can study and attend classes. I've become accustomed and fortunate to not really budget my groceries over the years and could get away with it but I need to be wiser with school school starting in the Fall.
First of all, I find these videos highly informative! Thank you Mindy! I think anyone that’s single or has a family should check out an Aldi if they have one nearby! My favorite budget friendly items at Aldi‘s are any of the canned tomatoes, tomatoes & green chilies, cottage cheese, Kielbasa, chips, etc. Have a great weekend & God bless!😊💜
The kielbasa and turkey sausages are delicious and I use those a lot, too!
@@SeeMindyMom Ooo yes, we like the turkey sausages too!
Aldi is the best! Picked up four packs of probiotic yogurt for a dime each, expires in 2 days. Granola bars @$1.29. Beans and salsa are great tasting and very inexpensive. Butter, and creamers are good and well-priced. The marked down surprises are incredible. Best scented candles with great throw @$3.99. Can’t find a better candle! All your offerings were on point; thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video! We moved to a small town and a lot of things cost two or three times what I am used to, even at Walmart! I said I wasn’t going to be driving an hour to the city for groceries, but I think even once a month would be worth it.
Take your coolers, and a list. I love my Aldi, and buy about 80% of my stuff there.
Phylicia B
You can find groceries online to be shipped to you in sealed pkgs too. I'm trying to think of the names. Thrive Market, Porterhouse ¿Steaks? Or what is the 2nd brands. I've followed another yt channel called "Frugal Fit Mom" Christine who has 4 teens and a hungry husband who has his own chanbel "Frugal Fit Dad" too! What a hoot! They're hilarious.
I love shopping at Aldi too. The Tulsa Hills store is my favorite one.
I usually hit up the one in Bixby, but the TH one and the Woodland Hills one are close to me, too. I find the one at Bixby is usually stocked the best.
@@SeeMindyMom The Bixby store is the first store in our area. Check out Price Mart. They have stores in Sapulpa and 12th and Garnett.
Your music is great...it's cooky and fun...Your ideas are great! Really good to see those graham crackers....Mom would get those for us....I guess because as you say they are less money than a bag or box of cookies.
Cracking up at the end lol 😆
💗 aldi...the everything bagel seasoning is so good on avocado toast. Speaking of which when Aldi has a sale on these you cannot beat the price and it is a good form of healthy fat
Also a must have is graham crackers with whipped cream! My great grandma and I would eat them as a bedtime snack and it’s one of those things that brings me right back to her kitchen table ❤️
That is so sweet, Abby! I had forgotten this, but I used to put whipped cream between 2 graham squares and freeze it, and it was like an ice cream sandwich!
