What tips do you have for players trying to reach S+ Rank? Or, what do you struggle with in Splatoon 3 trying to get to S+ Rank?
Just get lucky it is really that simple, as an S+12 I can tell you getting S+0 is literally all rng
The problem for me is the matching. I’m S 964p, and I’ve lost 3 rank up battles, two of which I didn’t get any victories on. I keep on getting matched with very high level players on the opposing team, while the players on mine aren’t very good. I’m always the one getting all the gold badges and actually engaging in the game and it’s driving me crazy.
Ah yeah it is a struggle right at the end with the rank up matches- took me 3 tries at it until I got through it.
Just keep playing strong an I'm sure you will be S+ soon!

Hi, i have the same problem, i've lost arouns 6 rank up battles, im suffering, i have good level but my team mates are always so bad 😢😢
I got there once and trying to make is a matter of luck
rank up battles are absolute hell but u just gotta keep pushing through and try to guide your teammates who arent as skilled as u
I got lucky in my last match S+ rank up when the opponents team consisted of 2 exploshers and 2 snipers in splat zones.
One tipi would give is to focus on using weapons you already know how to use effectively. If you want to get good with a new weapon, make sure that you have mastered it in turf war before taking it into anarchy

Great video! A good tip I have is to try and secure ground in front of the tower or rainmaker before actually pushing them, these objectives will be where the enemy is focusing on securing so you become an easy target by pushing the objective at the start. Specials like booyah bomb, triple inkstrike and tenta missiles can help take attention away from the objective to help you catch the enemy off guard!
Ah thats a good one! I have seen people pick up the rainmaker then all they can do is move back in charge up a shot to move!
6th tip: Utilize your teammates’ specials as opportunities to push and pick off scattering enemies.

my biggest issue is ive been trying to get into S+ since the beginning of the game and have 0 issue getting to S, only to be constantly put against full teams of S+ players (including an x ranker at one point???) 💀

@@SwiftRageCage thanks for the fast reply! :) i use vanilla splatana wiper, with last-ditch effort, respawn punisher and stealth jump, my other slots are all swim speed up and run speed up. i do pretty well and usually get all gold badges but im always against people who are 100% of a higher skill level than i am 😭

I’ve been on a terrible losing streak lately I’ve mained squiffer for many years and are x rank but for some reason I can’t stop losing I’m starting to think it’s too hard to climb on the leaderboard with a sniper but I would love to do it, any squiffer advice anyone?

I need to get better in this game if I wanna reach X. Tho with the amount of series matches I’ve lost I’m getting tilted more and more. Worst part about it is that I’m just constantly getting myself out of the negatives just to go back there next series
Beleive in yourself, trust your instincts!
I'm sure you will do it, honestly the relief when you hit X Rank is amazing, but then you realise S+ was just the tip of the iceberg compared to X Rank 😆
If you make your mind you'll be able to win
Don't blame yourself or your teammate, find what troubles you and correct it
If you get anxious easily take break every game, don't have to be that long but until you feel better
Exercise and don't play if you're sick, the better you feel the better you perform
If you are sad or angry, take a break

@@SwiftRageCage have just reset it to B-, and my opponents are 3 S+, how do I know? They got S+ badges on their splashtag.
As I am trying to rank up I play Series

@SwiftRageCage I seriously don't want to be that guy... but how is the matchmaking done? My team mate (when I was still on S) were all easily dominated.
I have almost always got positive splat ratio (more splat than being splatted), I can hold on 1v2 so my team mates can do the objectives 3v2, but somehow they can't even hold 3v2, we lose the tower, the rainmaker or the clams.
These guys were almost always got negative splat ratio... I don't want to blame my (random) team mates, but after a while I just got to question how am I always got put on a team that can't handle themselves? I know when I am bad, I know when I missed a chance or unable to halt an opponent that comes in my way.
But when I know I play good, my team almost always sucked!
@Gooner Ozz I beleive its skill based so that might be why you are still seeing s rank players
I think it works on an overall range of the teams average matchmaking values and tries to put the against a similar value.
Overall its not the best system!
It might be worth changing play style? It's good you have a positive splat ratio but maybe you might be better holding objectivesninsteadnif your team mates can't?

Another tip is to pray you don’t get discriminated against because you can have a 99.9% winrate and still not rank up
I’m guessing rank up battles are against S+ players? Because I’ll get 5 wins in a row easily but as soon as I get a rank up battle I just lose all 3 matches. Guessing S+ is just out of my league. Maybe another 1,000 hours & I’ll have the skill to get there.
Don't worry you will get there! I used to think I wouldn't as I lost my rank up battle a few times but then I aced it!
I think rank up battles put you up against higher rank players to prove you can play against the higher ranks - or at least that is what it seems like!
@@SwiftRageCage Woo! spent all weekend playing Rank up battles & I finally made S+ 😄 super happy but omg it’s insane how difficult it is now. Loosing most my matches. I’ll certainly de-rank when the new season comes next week but I’m learning a lot. Only way to improve is to go up against stronger players. My X power is only 1700-1900 but I’ll keep learning 🤗

I’m S+5/X Power 2019.4 just got locked out of S+ by season reset and not allowed to get back

@@SwiftRageCage No idea, ended up self demoting and eating A ranks, probably gonna grind open to S+0 now. The problem is S Rank is crawling with X Ranks who never bother to reach S+1 anymore. Even in S2 my S+ winrate was 66% and I just can't keep that up in 3 cause of all the demoting X Ranks.

Like. In the current ranking system you get pushed up by an upward point bias and can’t derank. Unfortunately, because my struggle to S+0 was in Splatoon 2, I never got to experience what it’s like to try to get S+ in 3 as someone who hasn’t already been there in a previous title.
It's a struggle for quite a few players, they fall into the negative points or are not mastering some basic skills.
I think most players can get to S+ rank as Splatoon is more forgiving then, say, Apex with its ranking

@@SwiftRageCage Well Splatoon 2 was much less forgiving. And the rank points needed to maintain rank after you fill in all your losses raises from 40 to 50 as soon as you hit S+0
The line jumps.
I ranked down S+0 -> S more times than I can count before I finally went 9-1 to get S+0 -> S+1
Splatoon 2’s ranked had a hidden X Power for non X Ranks called “Power Level” and Power Level changed the number of wins needed to rank up as well as the number of losses needed to fail rank up battle or potentially rank down.
it’s pretty easy but sometimes it’s frustrating considering the game de-ranks you every season…. literally why does it do that
so like about the specials and push stuff. what if you're on the receiving end of that 🫠

Well of your lucky you might have specials in your time to try and counter and stop them pushing. Otherwise, it's about positioning the team and trying to funnel opponents so they are easier to kill
