    James was damn right you'd know where the funk came from after this jam!
    This one's my favorite because the band was straight THROWIN' DOWN!
    Back in 2002 I had the whole section of the parking lot grooving to this at the BLACK HOLE tailgate/Oakland Coliseum before the Jets/Raiders playoff game. I blended in Public Enemy's FIGHT THE POWER towards the end and fired up the fans even more before entering the stadium. THANK YOU, JB! The one true GODFATHER OF SOUL!

A new generation arrived by 75. "Payback" LP technically was his apex. His showmanship remain untouched. "I'm Satisfied" should've been a huge hit.

    Now you’re talking! One of my all-time favorite James Brown songs! The big mistake he made those when he put this out as a 45 he left that long opening wrap in there and of course the song went nowhere. If he would’ve started out right at the music he might’ve had a pretty decent hit.

    • @SoulOnTopJB
      @SoulOnTopJB  3 роки тому

      It's a great track, including the intro, but I agree the intro didn't need to be on the 45, however the record was soon withdrawn after release, replaced by ua-cam.com/video/mO6e0_e5_9Q/v-deo.html

    • @PaulDA2000
      @PaulDA2000 3 роки тому

      @@SoulOnTopJB According to the liner notes from THE SINGLES volume 9, it was withdrawn in May 1975 (Polydor 14271), but then reassigned to Polydor 14281 released in June 1975. What it doesn’t say in the liner notes is that, as you said, HUSTLE (DEAD ON IT) from the LP EVERYBODY’S DOIN’ THE HUSTLE is the A-side, but part 2 of DEAD ON IT is the B-side of that single. I have both singles 14271 & 14281. The first one was out for a few weeks before it was withdrawn according to the liner notes.

    • @SoulOnTopJB
