- In the lawsuit, Diddy alleges spirits giant Diageo North America did not market his brands as promised due to being "Black brands."Sean "Diddy" Combs' entrepreneurial efforts and business ventures are vast, from Sean John apparel to Bad Boy Records. But his foray into the food and spirits industry with a multi-year investment deal in vodka brand Ciroc and tequila brand DeLeon has hit a snag - the mogul is suing the labels' parent company for not investing in the products as promised.Diddy filed a lawsuit in New York's Supreme Court alleging spirits behemoth Diageo North America failed to allocate as many marketing resources to his brands as it did other celebrity brands, accusing leadership at the company of "kneecapping" growth of Ciroc and DeLeon because they were viewed as "Black brands."
Combs also claims Diageo leadership told him the company was not mass distributing to "urban neighborhoods" and that if he was "Martha Stewart", who's reportedly a big fan of Belvedere and Zubrowka vodkas, Ciroc and DeLeon would be "more widespread."
"Cloaking itself in the language of diversity and equality is good for Diageo's business, but it is a lie," the lawsuit states, per AP. "While Diageo may conspicuously include images of its Black partners in advertising materials and press releases, its words only provide the illusion of inclusion."

Jay z, ja rulez, diddy none of them can even get 50k views/streams on their musics. They were all back to working the fields. They lose money on every album release. Diageo have been around for a long, long time. They have deep pockets and connections. Diddy has been on Diageo field for 15 years, picking up cash on the fields for them. He thought he could challenge the masters of the fields. Now Jay z has purchased some of lands for himself and employees note pickers for himself but for diddy to think he can beat up his masters and take a portion of their field from himself is too much coming from a note picker. Talking about producing music and owning mudic labels like we was in the glories years of music before 2010. When 90% the artist these days just manages to put out 1 or 2 hits in their entire carrer due to the cut throat competitions. A field worker will face the consequences of challenging his masters. This goes not only for a strong and well known note picker of the fields like diddy but to all the note pickers from the projects. Diddy & everyone should serve their -owners- masters right because the music ain't gonna put food on the table forever. Just like no child can stay in their mama house independent and being taken care of for forever. A day comes when mama gets old and can't go to work to feed them kids. Every boy has to become a man are take up jobs on the fields. They at least get jobs on the fields because they came from a home raised by their mamas. Many raised in broken families do not get such luxury. The masters wants a reliable workers in the fields. How dare they forget who they are! Now prison and punishment is certain.

Diageo has denied the accusations and called Combs' suit a "sham action."
The spirits giant on Tuesday filed legal documents calling for a New York judge to dismiss Combs' suit. In its legal filings, Diageo labels the artist's claims as "false and reckless" and accuses him of filing the lawsuit "in an effort to extract additional billions" from the company.
"These allegations are nothing more than opportunistic attempts to garner press attention and distract the court from the fact that plaintiff's breach-of-contract claim is entirely without merit," lawyers representing Diageo said in the filing.
The U.K.-based company also said it is ending its brand partnership with Combs, adding that it has served his legal team with a notice of termination for their Cîroc relationship.
