- www.BedrosKeuil... presents: Committed to Success
In today's Empire episode, Bedros Keuilian deep dives with Nick Koumalatsos, a 12 year Special Operations Marine Corps veteran with Marine Reconnaissance and Marine Special Operations Command.
Nick is now an entrepreneur, philanthropist, producer, and father of two. He is the author of Ex-Communicated Warrior, 7-Stages of Transition, and co-author of fitness training books: USMC Prep, Recon Prep, and Marine Raider Prep.
Along with his wife, Allison, they own Snap Fitness, Ship On Site, Survival, and Tactical Systems, and Miserable Cows. Nick is also co-owner of Johnny Slicks, an organic grooming essentials company.
Nick shares with us his story of a rebellious young man with two felonies, why failure is only temporary, how infrastructure in your business is key to success, the difference between being involved and committed, and so much more. To say Nick is committed to success is an understatement.
"You show me one successful person, and I'll show you the same man that failed fifteen times to get there." -Nick Koumalatsos

Always an absolute pleasure to learn from you Bedros. Thank you for the opportunity.
Why did you get out at 12 years? I was in for 8 myself, didn't want to spend all of my best years of life into it since it was becoming more political/stressful with higher rank. I'm definitely going to check out your book, might even Y-group it up. I don't have any good influneces around me for where I want/need to go in life and don't know where to go to find the right influences (you are the sum total of the 5 closest people, and because of that I have 0 people close to me at the moment).
For 6 years now I've been developing a hydrogen fuel generator system that can be easily be installed in vehicles to increase gas mileage, horse power, and clean emissions. I have a few videos of the developed kit on my channel, nothing fancy. Johnny has a million dollar product, and I believe I have a billion to trillion dollar product as it can go on any internal combustion engine. Hence the reason I am branding my business Wayne Industries (reminiscent of Wayne Enterprises from Batman), and the company logo has a slight similarity to the batman logo in it.
legend.
@@waynesanders1406 www.exwarrior.com I explain it in my book and definitely don't want to write the long version here. Hit me up on IG.
How tall are you Nick?
This feels like being in B’s half day coaching call. I’m curious if the Paramedic made it out of fixed wing?
This is a great channel, Bro! Thanks for the time you put in making this content. I don’t understand why there aren’t more followers yet. Once people get a few episodes in they’ll be hooked like me.
Great episode!
Failure is not final just a lesson.... That's powerful
What a remarkable thoughts you have brother! Your words are gold to us!
Excellent content
Fellow Marine veteran of 8 year here, I am about to begin entrepreneur'ing in the realm of an invention I developed years ago in order to support my real passion and gift, short film production. I've been watching business and self development videos for years preparing myself mentally for the transition. This video is extremely useful Mr. Keulian and entertaining. Kudos to graduating beyond becoming a paper & pencil-pushing admin clerk Nick. You survived the big green weenie. How did Bedros even come across you / vice-versa?
Also, one good question that could have been asked is what was the reason for the EAS at 12 years? I left after 8 because I realized that approaching Staff Sergeant, at least in my MOS field(s) it became much more beaurocratic/political. You did less and managed more and I'm more of a technical/do'er person. My leaders had said I was an excellent leader and I was always in the "few" of the few/tip of the spear in my fitness reports, but dealing with the upper echelons of leadership, depending on the unit you were at, was more psychologically draining. I knew the next 12 wouldn't be as much fun as the first 8, and I didn't want to spend all of my best years in my prime in the Marines. Even before I did my re-enlistment I was planning on getting out and starting my own business, but some perks came my way so I stayed for another 4. The second time around I knew it was time to branch out on my own, but that was 10 years ago. It's taken me quite a while to finally realize fully what I want to do in life at the age of 36, and I now have to go back down to the bottom of the mountain in life to start over. I see what appears to be the path I can best take, but I don't know what the outcomes are going to be switching from an IT/construction based background to video production. The invention is something I spent 5 years on in an area of my own personal interest with cars so that I could make something truly worth millions, if not billions, so I could fund all my own video ideas without having to go procure money from external sources. Wayne Industries is going to fund all of his own videos.
Thanks for this!!
Great insight on a fantastic podcast. Thank you!
Also, amazing to see another guy, like myself, with a troubled past, and a Marine. My story is opposite of his.. joined the marine corps, later in life I fell apart and finally pulled it all back together
Love this dude. Thank you for giving him some spotlight.
great episode! hes a legend.
Level up not cry about the failure... That's what I'm taking home
For me I don’t call it “failure” I look at it as this strategy didn’t work in its totality, but this will help me get closer to the one that will
Great content 👏🏽
