    Eric, I appreciate the efforts to bring more professionalism to this "industry", if you can call it that.
    I think one area that could be improved is official communications from manufacturer to owners. For example, owners should be able to register their units and then be notified of issues. This is important if there is a safety issue in particular.
    It's frustrating that my paramotor manufacturer makes "official" announcements on Facebook. That is just unprofessional. For example, swing arm bolts breaking is a serious issue! It demands greater attention than a Facebook post.
    As a dealer, maybe you can fill this void. An owner registration would be valuable for your business I think!
    Pressuring the manufacturer to do this would be great too.
    Best

    Thanks, Eric you and your team are true ambassadors to this amazing sport. robroy said it best. I could not top that. I had 320 hours on a my19, I had to replace the exhaust header with aero aftermarket. Solved that permanently. Had a mishap on a takeoff and rolled the trike at a very low speed and got sand in the air filter. By the time I discovered the problem it had killed the tolerance at intake and exhaust ports. Four starter repairs, fuel lines, carb kit, with jug and piston, inspection with decompression hole cleaning with a 4mm drill. Every 100 hours. Ran 66 to one with Mutol 800. 89 octane non-ethanol fuel. Seems to me exact carb tuning is the lifeline of these engines. From 300 to 320 hours when it died ( sand in carb ). Also, have a top 80, love this simple and reliable little thing but don't use it much anymore. This 185 is so easy to work on. So exploring different oil now from Walmart, synthetic Valvoline 27.00 per gallon. Run about 100 gallons of mixed fuel through it so far in the past 8 weeks. Trying a 50 to one mix for now. I may have enough oil for 5 more gallons? Then I'm going to pull the jug do an inspection and clean the decompression port. See what the piston and head look like. I want to see how this oil performs. I'll post a video on this oil. I do long flights on a 24m Speedster 3 now. Love this wing so far. Had it for about 7 weeks. Beats the hell out of my old mojo5. Most of my flights are 65 to 80 + miles. This Speedster cuts a lot of time off my flights now. I'm retired so if the weather is 3 to no more than 8 gusting, I'm in the air. Sometimes I do 5 to 10 gusting..

    I have been really happy with my Atom 80 so far. Only issue I've had is it not going all the way back to idle after it's warmed up. Surprised it wasn't mentioned because I know a lot of people have had that issue.
    It's super light and it's nice being able to kite and just reach over your shoulder and starting it with just a finger. I think the exhaust looks cool after you get some hours on it. I haven't had any oil leaking issues at the exhaust. For some reason mine doesn't start as well as everyone seems to be able to start theirs when it's cold, still never a problem though and once warmed up the easiest ever. The double hoop on my Rider has saved my prop once I think and it really seems sturdy when I was making "beginner landings" haha.
    Couldn't be happier with my Roadster 3. I have been having a lot of fun with it and I still haven't put speed bar in or tied in my steering haha

      I'm so grateful to hear of your good experience! I've found that the Atom only needs a tiny squirt of prime to start first pull. Even in cold. Getting the idle right is definitely an art, but you've got this! Glad you're happy with your wing too! :D

    You can't say Vitto has taken it to the next level as the Moster STILL has the muffler issue. And it's been an issue for years. When they fix it for once, I'll agree. Vortex Aero might have the fix....now how can they do it but not Vitto? I guess we'll see if the VA fix is truly a fix...if so, it makes Vitto look like their engineers are clueless when a small company can out engineer them.....thinking outloud, maybe it's an Italian pride thing? My Polini 130 tends to have a flash starter breaking issue. Little did they know that the easy fix was just installing the Polini 200 starter on the 130! now, zero issues with it. Now, 200 hours since the replacement and not one issue with that motor. And the vibration level is so low on it...a balancing countershaft reduces vibration immensely....why doesn't vitto do that like Polini did? just so many questions.

    Have a Nirvana Rodeo and been flying it for almost 3 years. No springs on the exhaust. No having to be careful on the warmup or cool down. Never had a cracked exhaust. Never had an engine out. Never had an air box issue. Never had any issues at all, so I see others having their exhausts crack and springs pop off and engines going out and oil leaking and it amazes me because I have just never had a problem. Maybe I got lucky?

    • @aviator
      @aviator  5 років тому +2

      I’ve flown SO many hours on Nirvanas with very few issues as well! They’re heavy and expensive, but until you get in the 300+ hour range, we had few issues.
      I haven’t personally tested the F-Light, and in the US, they’re a bit too expensive to be viable for us, but Pavel has always been an incredible engineer and someone I consider a good friend. Nirvana is certainly not the right motor for everyone (weight, fragility, and price), but they have done a few things extremely right.

    • @BSmithPPG
      @BSmithPPG 5 років тому

      AviatorShow Thanks for your response. I agree. I don’t think I would buy a Nirvana Instinct or F-Flight due to fragility and the price. Heck, Rodeos are pricey too, but I have been pleased with the “no-issues” characteristics and ruggedness. I’m thankful for your vids that help present the pros and cons and try to help improve things all around. Keep it up!

  • @CrimFerret

    My take away from this compared to the similar videos on that 'previous brand' is that it's mostly been things external to the core engine. Having an exhaust crack is frustrating, but sure not as worrying to me as a a crack in one of the engine castings. The hose clamp issue with the airbox sounds pretty easy to fix. The exhaust cracking maybe will take a bit more engineering. I'm thinking they maybe tried to make them too light and/or out of a material that couldn't handle the thermal and mechanical stress. I'd be curious whether the factory edition with the titanium exhaust has the same issue.

    Would prefer a tried and true paramotor that starts, shuts off, and doesn’t vibrate apart and throw crap into the prop a month out of the box. Where is the quality control? Guess that doesn’t exist yet. Given ppg is a form of aviation...imagine flying an airplane that had this frequent of mechanical issues.
    When you train you are taught to have a practice of always having a way out for a motor failure. Most paramotor pilots,even with careful preflight and OCD maintenance regimens still have stories of Multiple motor outs.
    I can only dream of the day Honda has a fuel injected lightweight paramotor engine.
    I’d prefer a heavier, lower power engine that I know will run than the latest greatest lightweight motor. I guess vitarazi moster is the closest thing to that. But still, why the high failure rate?
    Reliable first, everything else is secondary...

    If everyone stopped buying the moster till the muffler was fixed, I guaranty every body at Vitto would be focusing on fixing the issue...and it would get done. Until then, people will buy, mufflers will keep failing....this has been going on way to long. Money talks. I'm guessing it won't get fixed in the near term.....the muffler seems made of too thin a metal and it seems the resonance of the motor is just tearing it apart...IMHO

    • @77notshy
      @77notshy 5 років тому

      Unfurtunetly, if the are getting the muffler from an other party, that party may be using cheap metal(material),so, the actual paramotor manufactures are stuck with that type of mufflers and it may still happening. But a little bird told me that they are gonna come with some modifications to realese the stress on the mufflers to help them to not crack as easy.
