i still find it funny that pepa had a hurricane at her wedding not because it was meant to happen but because bruno made a bad joke that stressed her out
I stand by the fact that she cannot blame him for the weather when she literally controls it. Like she could have taken 15 minutes to sort out her emotions if it mattered to her.
I've been bugging my therapist to watch this movie for at least the last three sessions and she finally did lol. So now she at least gets my references
she had just had three babies, watched the love of her life die right before her eyes and had a whole village relying on her... man edit: the way yall started crying when yall saw the new door sent me im so sorry
EXACTLY!! Obviously that doesn't mean the way she handled things was the best, but she was clearly trying to find her own way to cope. I genuinely feel like this movie represented generational trauma so well. Also you're telling me you DIDN'T cry when she got her new door and...was finally😥 accepted😭😭😭😭😭😭😭?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I never understood why no one liked Bruno. He basically told them what's going to happen. And then they got mad AT HIM because it came true. Like, he had any control over that. Like he told them what's up, they didn't do anything about it and yet, they blamed him. lol wtf? So it became a thing where "oh he only tells people about bad things, I don't want to hear about it." Their own ignorance is what made their futures come true.
completely agree with you, but i guess its just easy to resent people who are always the ones giving the bad news. Although bruno wasn't the one at fault, it's easy to point fingers and associate him with bad feelings since he's the one telling them. but yes, they are still very ignorant, because the way people treated bruno was absolutely awful and if they were more logical, they could put those bad emotions aside and realize it wasnt bruno's fault at all.
It's basically the reason why people tend to avoid doctors or dentists. Because you typically only see them when something bad, painful or scary has happened so you learn to associate them with these bad moments. Bruno saw mostly negative visions so people came to see him as just the harbinger of ill tidings.
bruno's gift did the same thing mirabel is doing: allowed him to puncture the "perfect" bubble around the madrigals and exposed the family to the inevitable truth. rather than admit that things arent perfect, it's easier to shift blame to the one bringing everything to light. makes the problem smaller and gives you a convenient target to gun for so you can feel like youre eliminating the problem while not actually doing anything or making any difficult or meaningful changes
There's a lot of "shooting the messenger" going on with the Madrigals. I think a big part of Bruno's bad reputation was because since Abuela Alma pushed them to use their powers for the townsfolk as much as possible, Bruno ended up doing a lot of predictions for really trivial things. Like what's going to happen to your goldfish, are you going to put on weight when you get older, or you going to keep losing your hair. The people of the Encanto village live fairly happy and peaceful lives. So if anything interesting is going to happen to them, it's probably going to be something negative. Otherwise, they'll just have the same perfectly nice day as yesterday, which doesn't really show up in a vision. The point is, whenever inevitable prophecies come into a story, they should be used very sparingly and only for really important matters. Also, Mirabel showed him that it might be possible to look for small details in a vision that can allow you to push past the surface image and discover what you might be able to do to turn it around. I don't think he'd ever tried that before.
I love love love watching Colombian people react to this movie. My family are, like, six generations removed from Mexico. A lot of us don't even look part Mexican anymore and the only part of the culture we've still got is homemade tortillas. It's wonderful to see Colombians pointing out things i wouldn't have noticed.
I almost choked on my drink when you brought up that Saved By The Bell reference Also to be fair, Dolores had technically been keeping a giant secret for about 10 years so I can't completely blame her for letting this one slip Also, the family singing together in We Don't Talk About Bruno is called Madrigal
Well, they don't talk about Bruno. So what's she supposed to say, "hey I have something to say about Bruno?" Her secret was basically the family secret. Nobody wanted to know what she knew. But with Mirabel's secret, that was huge, scary and imminent. The house was about to be destroyed and they'd all lose their powers, and she's supposed to keep quiet about that through dinner? That's *huge.*
When the trailer came out I was excited they made the one uncle dark skinned as well as his kids. My grandma was weirded out until I explained why I was excited. It was an actual learning moment for us to to share.
I love your reaction! Also, I'm with you, that part where the community all comes together and helps them rebuild gets me. It's the unity, the unity is so heartwarming!
The times throughout the movie when the villagers were asking about their problems, it was less like "are you losing the powers we rely on?" (as Abuela Alma assumed), and more like "hey, could you guys use our help?"
In almost all of the songs, there is 1 character singing according to a different melody..even in the first song, Abuela is singing the Oruguitas song... Madrigal is a musical composition of multiple a cappella singing voices that all follow different melodies and harmonize.. much like they do in the Bruno song... there are so many layers to this movie that if you start digging you just can't reach the bottom .. it starts with trauma and PTSD, which devolves in generational trauma and mental health issues for pretty much every character in the movie, except the capibara, who just don't give a fuck..
This was amazing! Y'all are so funny and I've been watching reaction videos to Encanto for days now b/c I'm obsessed and your video was one of my faves!
if I remember correctly the voice actor for Mirabel while she recording waiting on a miracle. She started to going into labor and felt the contractions. so that one reason you can hear the hurt in her voice while singing
My theory on the ending to the movie is that- Mirabels power is their house, if you see in the beginning when Mirabel gave Antonios gift it had animals and etc on it, including the bird he talks to when he first gets his power, I'm thinking "how did she know he was going to be able to speak to animals" because of her power being the encanto? Especially since the power coming back as soon as she put the door knob on the house. Idk it's just my little theory on it, but y'all's reaction was the sweetest ever. 💕💕
IM SO GLAD SOMEBODY ELSE KNOWS THE GUY WHO PLAYED AUGUSTIN’S VOICE AS SOLELY HANDY MANNY! Like that show was my jam as a kid, even when I was technically too old for it, so everything that guy is in I’m just like “Yo it’s Handy Manny!” To this day I can’t remember what his actual name is lol 😂
That is not the first other acting credit I'd pick for John Leguizamo. In the 90's-00's, he was a huge star in standup comedy and a lot of movies, including Romeo + Juliet. Heck, it annoys me when people know him mainly as Luigi. But yes, he was also Sid.
I love this film - except the Disney ending is as unrealistic as any happily ever after that came before it. Generational trauma is REAL AS F and I’m glad it’s being explored here. The happy huggable ending is fantastic though let’s be real. The scapegoats and the misfits get chased out of the family and have to go do their own healing, or worse yet start their own trauma based new saga. The abusers cling to their power and delusion like Mafia bosses and while their back story may be sad and understandable, their death is often the only healing offered. But this was fun and the songs slippity slap.
I agree. I resonated with Maribel, she saw the cracks in the home and family and was just trying to fix it.too often families don't want to face the truth and those like Maribel and Bruno become scapegoats. Also Maribel's strengths were devalued when really she was the one the family needed most.
Hermosas!!! Abrazos desde Colombia!! But don’t watch it in Spanish… the translation sucks almost as much as the cast except for Maria C and Carolina Gaitan… not kidding
Hi ladies.. Raymond (a new sub) I have seen most of your reactions and, love them.. Do you plan to making a patreon page in the near future as well? "I hate unity so much"😂😂😂 girl you're iconic.
lol
That was my favorite moment of the reaction, too.

I think that everyone needs therapy after watching this movie tbh.
Lmao
True
I've been bugging my therapist to watch this movie for at least the last three sessions and she finally did lol. So now she at least gets my references
I think every human being needs therapy
True af

They didn't dislike him, at least his family, he was just weird and his gift was making the town difficult to handle.

she’s like “i don’t mean to brag about it”…and i’m over here like “girl do it!” “go ahead” 🤟🏼🇨🇴❤️🔥
I would literally defend Antonio Madrigal with my whole life
Love how y'all could already tell Isabela was sad from the beginning!
Antonio : "We made this one for you.."
*squeels* "I hate all of you" 😂😂😂
I almost choked on my drink when you brought up that Saved By The Bell reference
Also to be fair, Dolores had technically been keeping a giant secret for about 10 years so I can't completely blame her for letting this one slip

I never realize, you're 100% right. It was most likely eating her up.
i don't know. i feel like she's been telling everyone how she's been hearing bruno and no one believed her

I'm a therapist, after watching the movie I made my mom watch it too. This is absolutely about generational trauma or inherited family trauma.
Dos Oruguitas makes me cry every every every time.
When the trailer came out I was excited they made the one uncle dark skinned as well as his kids. My grandma was weirded out until I explained why I was excited. It was an actual learning moment for us to to share.
And the hair textures!
Makes me happy seeing other Colombians on UA-cam also expressing their enjoyment. 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴💛💛💙❤️
THIS IS LITERALLY THE FUNNIEST REACTION I'VE WATCHED OUT OF ALL THE OTHERS 😭
Great to see afro colombians!!!
0:20
Ngl that’s how I felt watching In the Heights Xd
I love your reaction! Also, I'm with you, that part where the community all comes together and helps them rebuild gets me. It's the unity, the unity is so heartwarming!
Yes! Thank you! It truly is! 💛💛
The times throughout the movie when the villagers were asking about their problems, it was less like "are you losing the powers we rely on?" (as Abuela Alma assumed), and more like "hey, could you guys use our help?"
Hahajahaha, I was wating all the time to hear someone getting surprice by "en barranquilla me quedo" now I can die
In almost all of the songs, there is 1 character singing according to a different melody..even in the first song, Abuela is singing the Oruguitas song...

Bruno el mejor tío and no one’s telling me otherwise, new sub btw
Never seen anyone resonate so hard with a movie and be so mad about it. Great stuff.
i love how i can tell this is just two random people that thought that reacting to encanto would be fun
totally genuine
Seeing you two cry over this movie got me weeping too! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MEEEEE? 🥺😨😰😥😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I was tearing up despite watching the movie and various reactions multiple times, and you go "I hate unity so much" 😭🤣
This was amazing! Y'all are so funny and I've been watching reaction videos to Encanto for days now b/c I'm obsessed and your video was one of my faves!
Thank you so much!! 💛💛
Dude i was like GET your own damn donkeys wtff
Oh and he says the donkeys got out *AGAIN.* He probably doesn't even bother to lock his barn any more, since Luisa's always around to take care of it.

OMG the Suite life of Zack and Cody reference that Halloween episode was crazy

Maryville is the miracle I knew that😊
15:37 She did that to hinder the marriage proposal
Earned a new subscriber, you have. :)
"He has a nice voice." Yeah, Maluma has a sexy voice.
8:16 she probably sounds hurt cuz Stephanie Beatriz was in labor (with contractions) whilst recording this song
SHE WAS PREGNANT!!!! I thought that was all voice acting!!
@@yohy6 and she gave birth the next day
@@Glaceonmon Oh my god, that's crazy!!!!
If u listened to Bruno's voice he sounds like Sid from ice age I think it was the same voice actor 😅😅
It is the same actor

So are we gonna talk about how the girl on the left lowkey looks like an older, girl Antonio?
I mean... he looks more like my twin then the girl sitting next to me
Hella funny! 🤣 Entertaining as f.

Why is there a water jug at 15:20? It is a bowl of Avocados in other versions.
The avocados are offered when Dolores tells Camilo, water is offered when Camilo tells Félix
Jesus loves you and he wants your hearts
React to Julie and the phantoms please trust me it’s a good show
Would you please review this movie called the Labyrinth and it was made in 1986.
Hermosas!!! Abrazos desde Colombia!! But don’t watch it in Spanish… the translation sucks almost as much as the cast except for Maria C and Carolina Gaitan… not kidding
