Better Days by Zach Bryan (Acoustic Cover Song)

This month, three years ago, I picked up a guitar for the first time to find a way to deal with immense pain and conflict in my life. I’m admittedly not the greatest musician or singer, and I am still very much learning how to sing and play. It is certainly a difficult art to master.
When Zach’s new album dropped, I was immediately captivated by “Better Days”. First, it has one of my favorite guitarists and song writers of all-time in John Mayer, so for him to be part of something with the best story-teller of all-time, in Zach, is very special. The lyrics of this song speak to my soul and remind me that gratitude should be a part of all of our lives. Life really does come in waves, and the last three years have taught me to take each peak and valley as a lesson and to be grateful for the people and moments as they happen. When a group of close friends went to see Zach this summer, we all decided to get a tattoo of a lyric of his that resonated with us. I didn’t hesitate to get “deep on better days” on my arm. It is a daily reminder to be grateful for every moment as an opportunity to soak in life’s experiences. Happiness comes and goes but joy rides freely on the grateful heart.
Gratitude for life and the chance to do something that brings me peace and love of life is why I post a cover any chance I get. Thank you all for suffering through some of my covers, as I try to get better. Regardless of the result, that is why I play and that is why I record every chance I get.
