Have you played Heart's of Iron IV's Old World Blues mod? It's probably the closest you'll get to a Fallout RTS and you can do a bunch of alternate Scenarios, like Elijah defeating the NCR. Or Mr House selecting the Kings as one of his families instead of Benny's tribe. And other potential successors of Caesar that all have positives and negatives like Lanius, Lucius, Vulpes and Joshua Graham (Provided he doesn't become the burned man.) and you can get the White Legs to carve out their own destiny and even embrace Christianity.

the next fallout game would need to be set in the US someplace that isnt really touched on. if we wanted to. we could do Seattle, New Orleans like stated, maybe Maine, Georgia as Florida would be under water, maybe have a bit of a game in Enclave controlled remnants of Hawaii, then DLC or expantion could take us to China, Australia, parts of Western US ect. (just spit balling) and each one of these are its own story paths. maybe even connect them, chinese remnant government about to engage a new war with the US, but the Enclave in Hawaii or what ever doesnt have the ability to stop them... cuz. well. we know why. tbh, any subjectively badguy faction would be nice to join. the Enclave is something most people want to join. and Fo76 dont count, we dont talk about that radioactive burning swamp. the Gunners, the raider gangs in nuka world were done shit horribly. the Khans, maybe a vault tech surviving outpost or vault somewhere, maybe help a new batch of the Master's Remnants trying to again build up their forces and you get in by speech checks and stuff, or even what ever. the point is that the next fallout better have all factions able to go to the end of the game with. it feels wrong otherwise. As for the Encalve, yes, they COULD return. as the Enclave is to have branches in Alaska, Texas, Chicago, 4 places in europe, eastern canada, 2 places in Australia, ect. Enclave is a global faction. the Oilrig housed only like 150 residents and a Enclave High Command. a second high command started a few decades later on the east coast. it wouldnt be hard for lets say... Chicago and Eastern Canada to reach each other. SHOULD the enclave be used again? I mean, they could. they could pop up like the BoS in Fo4 half way through the game, and be basically running like the Mid West BoS, rough policing, rather than authoritarian. P.S. you have the wrong take on the enclave lol. entirely wrong. tbh, i cant find where its stated that woman are used as breading tools. anywhere. i tried looking it up more, but i think this is just a Mandela Effect. From what iv seen, the Legion will take in towns and settlements if they submit, but make slaves out of those who resist. They have a very secure and peaceful central territory. They arnt all just raiders, ransacking shit all the time, theyre organized slavers. slavers =/= raiders. Just one massive fuckin raider group would make no sense, destroying and ransacking, having unrest in their territory makes no sense. Theyre running a war, they need farmers, they need architects, they need people and help just as much as the NCR needs to run their army. Once again, your off on your info, 95% of the staff that worked on New Vegas still works in Obsidian. i head checked this about 4 years ago due to someone bitching on the NMA (No Mutants Allowed) forums touting how much he thinks Beth is the best and only way fallout should go. (Funny, as NMA was launched in 1998, and is full of Classic fans, oooh boy) So, other than some concept artists and a scripter for FoNV, everyone else is still there. This might have changed lately or some deaths, idk. havnt checked yet after the pandemic.
Legion has always been one of my favourite factions, if not my favourite. As you described, they felt really new and different. thought of one day, coming out into the wasteland to discover a slave army of cosplaying Roman legionaries, led by a megalomaniac calling himself Caesar. If nothing else that makes you ask “How and why?” I also really liked that despite Caesar modelling his nation after the Roman Empire, Caesar’s Legion honestly feels less like a proper, developed nation and more a warrior tribe that got really big, really fast. And this shows in how they conduct themselves and the way they think and act, using what we know they have very little in the way of complex government or bureaucracy like the NCR. All they really have is the military or honestly tribal hierarchy, and they don’t so much rule their subjects, then simply demand taxes, protect them and largely leave them be. Basically they’re a libertarian’s dream. For some reason I find that so, so cool. It makes me think of how present feudalist or systems of serfdom are in Post-War America, because serfdom is such a simple, easily understandable and largely mutually beneficial way of ordering things, that outside of slavery I’m surprised we haven’t seen it more.
Congrats on 50k, I feel like I found you between 1k and 2k and though the production was a bit raw, the writing talent was always there. You explore some really interesting topics.
I love how you explain the nuances of the Legion and their goals that most people tend to either overlook or dismiss entirely as a joke faction. The Legion in my opinion is one of the most interesting fictional factions I've ever seen and I wish we get to see more of them in the future.

Hey man, I've been binging your channel for a while today and I love your stuff. Dunno if you'll read this but this seems like a decent place to ask: have you ever thought about making another video about Mr. House? Specifically I would love if you could delved into whether or not House's 100 years figure for working spacecraft is feasible or not. You touched on this briefly in one of your first videos but there's a few points that people always seem to overlook, and that is: a) House's 100 year figure only took into account what he could potentially do with the resources available in the Mojave. By the end of OWB, however, the Courier (and House, by extension) would have full access to the biggest treasure trove of pre-War tech in the entire wasteland. Lots of potential there. b) By the end of Lonesone Road, they can potentially have access to at least two, if not more, working ICBMs which could reworked or reverse-engineered to be used in spaceships. c) Similarly, if the player never completes Come Fly With Me (or slaughters the Bright Brotherhood for some reason) they'll again have access to two working rockets and a functional launch site. I love House and I'll always Trust the Plan™but the more I think about it, the more likely it seems.

Okay at first I was thinking the next Fallout game could be in Europe for a nice change. I would say China but real world stuff.. That ain't gonna happen even if the game won't be like reality and set 200+ years from now. Your points for Australia has convinced me that we need one set in Australia. Just the amount of animals and creatures would be so cool. Less about the human enemies and more about the animals and the big bad could be more beast based instead of large faction blowing up everyone else. Plus it's close enough to Asia to have more lore from the East in there because countries like China and Japan are important to the lore but since they're the other side of the world, other than that one quest in FO4, there's no actual interaction with the East which is a damn shame since there's so much lore to unpack there! Australia would be a great location for the next game!
Whispering Hills is as close to Fallout Survival Horror as we'll get. There's also the Old World Blues mod. Yes, it's a grand strategy game and not Real time. Plus, it's definitely got some fanfiction elements. But it's the closest we got.

25:48 that's not really a remaster anymore. a remaster just takes the old game, tweaks it to work on newer systems and re-releases it. skyrim se and anniversary edition were remasters for example. as the name suggests, it takes something that's not at master quality anymore and restores it to mint condition, so that it can be used at the same level it was when it was first made. if you're gonna be making big changes, adding entirely new quest lines and worldspace elements, you're thinking of an expansion pack at this point, or even a remake.

The White Legs were my first pick when I downloaded the mod. It was really interesting to see them in another perspective than in Honest Hearts.

@@yaboiii6562 Oh wow. I honestly didn't expect my comment to get noticed. I hope you are able to get the mod to work. Paradox games are sometimes a pain to get mods to install properly from Steam Workshop. Old World Blues is honestly one of the better total conversions for HOI4.
