Be sure the initial power-up state of the flip-flops is not 010 or 101. Such condition will lock the system into a divide-by-2 mode.

sir you first made the circuit and then justified how it acts as divide by 6 and 50%.
I didn't understand how to make a circuit given the divide by "n" with a "m" duty cycle info ?

Divide by 6 means mod-6 counter so it can be some other sequence also

Usually it's unknown.. that's why a predefined sequence is usually chosen...or reset them all

If we can manage with 3, why use 6?

No as this is Johnson counter having 2n states, if u want to use 6 flipflop for mod 6 , u can use ring counter.
