Just a small tip for those using regular 20 lb paper for photocopying - I found that if I put a thin layer of gel medium on the back of the photocopy let dry & then glue into book - this seems to strengthen the paper as I had no issue with wrinkling when I glued into sketchbook
Super helpful tip! thank you for sharing....x
Thank you for sharing this technique. What a great way to leverage the time you invested in your sketchbook practice. I like the smudginess of your pieces, too. One way to avoid this if you want to is to first use spray varnish on the photo copy. I ike to varnish my watercolor pieces and do this beforehand to set the color. I love your work so much. I feel joy everytime I see it.
Oh those vases are so cool!
Oh thank you much xx

What an exciting idea! You can try anything with your drawings without being afraid of ruining them. I've been stuck - I think you just unstuck me.

Great stuff I like the smudge look. Would make good Business cards
I really love a bit of smudging! Thank you Lynda x
Very interesting idea Helen, I have done this with tracing paper in the copier and chop them up for collage. Wondering do you on the page you copy, put the bright pens lines on before you do your patterns on the blank page or after your e done your patterns. Blessings from Australia

Thank you so much 😊
I love this idea Helen! I could actually use single page drawings for this technique as well (oh i've got plenty of those from my experimental mark making!) One thing puzzles me though...I didn't know it was possible to paint over a gloss medium as I thought the surface would be too shiny/smooth to paint on? Can the acrylic actually adhere to this surface?
Oh thank oh so much Sandra. I’ve always painted over gloss medium with acrylic paint with no problem…my view is that mediums are designed to be used with and within acrylic paint and paintings and so are fine to be painted over…x
I love this technique. Thanks for sharing. However, perhaps don’t move the paper around quite as much. I got a bit motion sickness after awhile, near the end. Had to look away.
Good point… sorry about that x
