- This documentary film, directed by Hamse Abdilahi, explores gentrification in Elephant and Castle, London. The area is undergoing massive regeneration project aimed at building a new town centre and expanding and modernising the Elephant Park. Upscale residential homes are fast springing up in the area.
The Spoons pub has been renovated too. Much nicer than it was.
This is great: superbly done. Great narration 👍
thanks,
I used to live near the Elephant and Castle at Queens Buildings near Borough back in the 60s it’s a Big change from them days but the down side of all this the locals are being REPLACED and once there gone the place is not the same.the culture and the way of life is gone I remember the Jelled ell man coming around and the coal man thous were very fond memories our country is changing fast and I don’t think is for the better I know things don’t stay the same for ever but we are being OVER RUN by other CULTURES and RELIGIONS and are TAKING OVER our COUNTRY and our traditions and way of life as we know it are being destroyed and nobody CARES.
I used to live in Queen's buildings in the 1950's until 1961 moved to Tabard Garden Estate long lane had good times and lots of friends in those days ❤
Still a foreign hell hole which is dangerous at night...
