@@venomsnake1779 I guess looking at it through RF or composite on an old tv made it difficult to see. Looking at it now on modern displays in HD made it more obvious
I honestly really enjoy this intro for a console. If you are easily scared, the PS1 sound would shock you. Imagine if loud PS1 music comes out at night. Think about it. But for Jaguar, no. It is not to much, and the music isn't too crazy. The sound is also pretty decent to hear :) There is also an Easter egg in the intro where if you press "D" while the rotating jaguar block is there then your able to change the speed and size
Thanks. Yeah- I handled the audio incorrectly when exporting the video. When I have the time to make an updated version, it’ll be in brilliant stereo… or at least double monaural.
I'm sure that opinion is held by many people. I somewhat see what Atari Corp. was going for, though- the music is the jingle "Have You Played Atari Today" from Atari Inc.'s advertising in the 1970s and early 80s in the style of music you might hear on the 2600 (aside from the chord heard at the end)- keeping in tune with the company's history. IMO, I think it's a slight misstep for Atari Corp. at the time. The advertising and run up in general for the Jaguar declared it to be this beast of a video game system, and then a player's first impression with the system in person was an 8-bit rendition of a jingle they probably never heard of before. It was a tonal mismatch that they somewhat remedied with the Jaguar CD's Startup- the logo in front of effects from the system's music visualizer, the VLM. Simple, yet effective.
Fun fact the jingle is based on the “ have you played Atari today “ jingle
i was today years old when i found this out...i've known this sound for pretty much a decade now
Yup
The jingle was added to calm down little kids in case the roar scared them

Well, it’s nostalgic for me. I’ve owned one since 1995.

Okay just the Jaguar title come careening was enough, but they had to ruin it with the Atari title and rotating cube with the silly music.
That "silly music" is the famous "Have you played Atari today?" jingle that Atari used in their Atari VCS commercials in the early 80s.
