So happy you guys enjoy Iñaki Godoy! I adore him as Luffy! Some people don’t love how he has an accent but I think it only adds to his charm! He is so dang endearing, adorable, and likable even though he is insufferably positive and annoying at times it only makes him that much more likable.
There's been a recurring question in a lot of the One Piece reactions I've seen: "Why didn't they just put out the fire on Alvida's ship?" It's an understandable question in modern terms, but you need to understand just how incredibly flammable a sailing ship is and how dangerous fire was on board. All the timber is dry aged wood, it's constantly getting coated with layer after layer of paint and tar, and it's literally the only thing keeping you alive on the ocean. Once a fire really gets going in a sailing ship the ship is simply doomed, they used to intentionally scuttle(sink) ships sometimes when a fire broke out to prevent it spreading to other ships, or to save the crew.
I never realized this until now, but Zoro puts the Wado Ichimonji into his mouth minutes after a naked Helmeppo had it and God knows what that boy did with it.
39:38 I’m surprised no one’s said Emily Rudd (Nami) is a black belt martial artist and does staff fighting irl. She did all her own stunts (as did Zoro)

Rurourin Kenshin is pretty damn good adaptation like the action and sword fighting is insane and In the final part of the movie The guy who plays Zoro (mackenyu) is a villain in that and fights so good! If you haven't already I'd definitely recommend watching that!
Guys, love your reaction. That being said the OPLA is not based on the anime but instead based on the Manga. A lot of anime watchers make this mistake. Like little Luffy stabbed his face is not in the anime but it's in the manga. The anime did change some important plot lines so that it would be more kid friendly. I am One Piece manga reader. But I do watch anime version, mostly important scene just to see how it's translated, with background music and voice actors. If you guys want to start your OP again, I would suggest reading the Manga. Better pacing, and the cover stories are canon. As for anime, ONE PACE is pretty good, as they removed all the fillers. Just a thought for you guys.
@@adrianhenrique2247 I've never personally watched it and has no opinion on my own but what I gather from other people is 1; some people are just purists and will go "But it's not the True Experience, waaah!" and also, there are apparently some scenes that One Pace cut out that are necessary to understand the plot? But because it's at least oartly filler, it's cut out.. Like.. The filler at the end of the East Blue saga is mixed pretty heavily with canon in the beginning and end so I guess that confuses things?
I watched One Pace quite a bit and at the end of the east blue they cut the footage in a way that they show the canon that was mixed in with the filler perfectly fine. The scenes they try to ensure that you get the full experience as close to the manga as possible. They might cut a few scenes but I never found anything that makes things confusing. For example a filler arc had them go into the calm belt but they reworked it so they still go into the calm belt but they change things around to avoid showing Apis who was part of that arc but still kept the important dialogue. I would say One Pace is 98% accurate with the worst cuts being a few of the fight scenes since some fight scenes added a number of scenes to stretch the fight and cuts might be a little more noticeable in One Pace with a couple of fights. @@Sigart
8 episodes covers 100 chapters from the manga...it was supposed to be a 10 episode but netflix said downed it to 8 episodes...there was a post by Variety about Oda's decision in the series that doing 1 to 1 episode is impossible and for him to oversee all the castings and production and script is even better...
I think the 8 Episodes mostly covered only 60 episodes of anime... because Alabasta Saga starts at Episode 62. If manga, yes, Alabasta Saga starts at Episode 101. But still, Lougetown Arc was not even included in the Season 1. So maybe if they extended it to 10 episodes we can have the finale of the East Blue Saga. Hopefully in Season 2 they will include the Lougetown since major plots happened there.
@@asdfghjk2019 what i meant was that since they cannot cover all the manga chapters as 1:1, they covered the whole series east blue saga into this season, season 2 will surely cover loguetown since it is still part of east blue...if netflix will allow the showrunner's 12 episode plan, they might include additional episodes that will surely expand the story arc, but i doubt netflix will agree to it..
@@asdfghjk2019 to degree yes. As you will find out making your way through it, they have managed to converge some things before they happen in both manga and anime. the secret ingredient on making this live action a success is because most of the team/actors respects and like the source material. they are fans themselves and love One Piece. Many actors I presume just research their own role and just do what they have to do to act. But the actors here act with their whole heart. they portray the character really really well. And of course the main ingredient too is Oda himself getting involved here. so far this live action is top notch! (I am a One Piece fan updated on anime and manga) and who used to hate live action adaptation
They took nothing for granted. They didn't assume they could just vomit up any low-effort thing and the IP would carry them through like some are inclined to do these days. _cough starwars cough_ They treated this like it was an original that they really wanted to succeed on its own merits. That way they got the One Piece fans and the One Piece virgins, and lo and behold, their viewership is good.
It also helps that nobody who worked on this went online and called their potential viewers vile shit while having a completely unearned sense of entitlement, like some anime adaptations.
If Cojo doesn't start watching OP anime again, I'll be forced to start a petition lol. OP is my fave anime. It's so good!! The character development, story lines, the joy of connecting all the dots over time, etc. You can tell they didn't hold back on the budget, okay?! I want to see them catch up to the manga/anime too but Idk how that would even work. I'll just let the pros stick to that lol. I've been binge watching OP reactions so I'm happy I found y'all channel. For me, Buggy isn't a fave in the anime but I recognize his importance in OP. He really is always in the right place at the right time lmaooo. I love his character acting in this.
I tried many times to watch One Piece the anime, but really struggled with the style of animation and how childish it initially seemed. I've heard from many reputable sources that the anime gets incredible later on, but have never managed to push through the start far enough to see that unfold. That said, I binge-watched the entire netflix adaption in 2 sittings and absolutely loved it, somehow all the aspects I found silly in the anime just seem much more legit when you see them performed by a decent actor!
I felt the same about one piece initially but decided to commit to the anime and wow it’s amazing. Really builds up and the depth to the world building, relationships and characters had a lot of depth, much more than the live action ofc since it’s so many episodes, watched 700ish episodes in a couple months
The artwork on the anime changes and improves as the series goes on. Which you'd expect considering how old the earliest episodes are. Honestly cutting out the filler and anime fluff (8minutes of opening and recaps per episode) by watching OnePace does help alot.
Agreed. I got to around 523 before I dropped the anime for good. The art style was off-putting, I didn't like the filler, Luffy is incredibly annoying and the plot goes nowhere. The Live Action makes everything much more digestible for adults, so it's a real treat to watch.
This is such a great LA adaption and sure they changed some stuff and they brought in some stuff sooner and then added stuff we never seen in the anime but was merely mentioned in passing in the manga but it all just works, this is the importance of respecting the source material and only changing when actually needed to make it flow and having a team that are actual fans along with having Oda on the creative team and giving him power over the writing to block bad changes. I really hope Netflix and other company's like Disney take note and learn for future projects.
Well the problems with Cowboy Bebop was it was slow, low effort, the characters we not likable, the actress who played Fey was VERY not likable and decided to run her mouth off, because for some reason they teach people in Hollywood that attacking your potential customer is a good idea, and they got an old man with not physical prowess to speak of to play Spike.
Loved this adaptation! I'm so glad it's being renewed for a second season! One Piece is starting to get close to wrapping up. It will probably end with about 1200 chapters. The goal would be to adapt that in 12 seasons. The creators have had discussions about the first six seasons and the first draft of season two is already written. It will hopefully air 12-18 months after the actors strike ends. The canon story has been less than three years so far, so the live action would be different from that, but it honestly wouldn't make much of a difference to the plot. I would keep watching if it came out every other year for the next couple of decades aslong as it keeps being good. I've already been a one piece fan for over a decade already, I am in it for the long haul.
@immaya7276 I know, but what I hear most of the time is that they've never heard of it and heard it was really good, or they've heard of it and don't want to start something that long. It's good. The purpose of the show is to get people interested in one piece.
I couldn't take this video seriously with the fake deep voice autotune thing. Don't try to make your voice sound cooler by adding bass, it never works.
