When I was awaiting my federal sentencing in New Orleans I was being held with the leader of a heroin and murder conspiracy. He was responsible for over 30 murders and started cooperating with the government. He had no shame about being a rat. He told me that “ I broke every one of gods 10 Commandments so what the fuck I look like abiding by the G-Code”... much as I didn’t agree with his choices and still don’t condone them I can’t help but admit that I actually understood his sick point of view. Snitching wouldn't exist if there wasn't law enforcement over policing poverty stricken areas. If there weren't drugs placed in that area, which then leads to crimes and violence. Replace the drugs with jobs, and ownership of legal dispensaries, laundromats, supermarkets etc. to those who live in those neighborhoods and over time things will change. Snitching is basically some, not all people in law enforcement putting to people against each other by threatening them with years of incarceration rather than helping these people change their communities.
