PLEASE don't "speed-up" answering questions!!! I enjoy your in depth answers and hope you do it again soon! Also....don't beat yourself up with your choices of how to be social. You deserve someone who appreciates you for you , just the way you are.
Don't feel bad being long winded in an AMA. We want to hear the details. Grateful for you talking about some of your more vulnerable stuff like ADHD. Just keep being you! I think that's what we're all here for. Those of us subscribed and commenting here are here because we like who you are. It's also really cool hearing about how you've grown as a person on the show but after too. Your story so far gives hope to more people than you might realize. And we're excited to see what's next for you!
I am partway through listening to this video, loving the long answers, don't apologize!! Really interesting hearing about your meeting Timber and William after they finished their journey, Alone really is such an incredible experience. Thank you for sharing!!
I cackled when you named all the family members of that mammal predator that wiped out hares n squirrels. And was impressed when you informed us that the IRS got jipped out of half the prize money! Nice Justice if you are going to lose, glad you took Uncle Sam with you.
Good to see you around! Because you did tell your story almost in chapters and were so real sounding to us watching you did make many of us feel like we were becoming friends with you. That was one thing you, Timber and William had in common. You made us feel like we were following you around and entertained us as you taught us some skills. I hope the people you start hanging around with will enjoy going out camping, hunting and fishing with you. You are a great campfire companion. And yes please keep doing videos of what you are up to.
Can’t get enough Dub!!! 💕🥰💕 You’re such an incredibly fascinating and cool guy! And a rockstar, at survival!❤️ We absolutely want LONG AND DETAILED answers!
Aww 😀 you’re so welcome! I truly hope you find someone worthy of your unique, deep, and remarkable personality! You have so much to offer someone! I so enjoyed ‘getting to know’ you on Alone (& now on UA-cam!!!) I was/am amazed by your skills, Celebrated your victories and shared in your tears… Thank you for bravely bearing yourself for all to see. You are a beautiful soul! 💕 many blessings to you!
Thanks for answering all these questions Dub! It's really interesting to learn more about the behinds the scenes of Alone, and also to hear your thoughts about what you did out there and what you've done since the show ended. I was actually thinking of asking a northern lights question and then forgot. I would absolutely love to see the northern lights up in the arctic or northern Canada someday! If I had a bucket list, seeing the northern lights up north would be near the top of the list. I can see some northern lights where I live, basically how you explained what you can see where you live, but of course they are hardly nothing compared to what they look like way up north. Keep the videos coming Dub! I've been enjoying watching them, and going back to watch some of your older videos as well. ☺
Hey Dub! Love listening to the Q&A. This season was so great. My husband and I were rooting for you. I'm here for all the dudes and the video length! Would love to see some fishing videos in the future.
Dub you are just such an amazing human to take the time out to answer our questions. My daughter and I are still your biggest fans, and can't wait to see what you do next. Thank you so much!! #TeamDub
My family and I just finished watching the season. We usually have a clear favorite between us by the end, but we were pulling for all 3 of you guys, cheering for every victorious catch, worrying over every problem. Thank you for the long and detailed answers here. Stay safe, man!
love that both Alone and UA-cam provide a platform for nonconformists, especially outdoorsmen, to share their lives. i was afraud for you when you got lost. good work out there.
Dub, man, you are awesome. Broke my heart and also warmed my heart to see you have to tap out. Hopefully you are mega proud of that crazy feat up north. And, also, hope your family is fine too! You inspired this introvert to enjoy time more and more with pals and family. All the best to you and yours, man🤙🙌
My wife thinks you have beautiful eyes. I wouldn't disagree with her. Seriously though , it was a pleasure watching your journey . You were one of our all time favorites and we wish you the Lord's speed peace and comfort. Thanks much
Long answers were great. Id love some insite on how to apply, i had applied but turned out to be a scam! I paid $56 bucks for?! Thanks man! Hope your having a great Sept!
I binge watched the entire series and I find your comments about each area being different very interesting. For example we see William with this amazing technique of catching birds and we don't see any other contestant demonstrate this technique. But without you telling us that we don't know that William's area was full of these birds whereas others were not. The same applies to rabbits, William was regularly trapping rabbits and most contestants rarely caught a rabbit. So his area was probably full of rabbits. The assumption that William is a superior trapper to others may not be necessarily true. I can see how there would be no way around this anomally for the show but it does make the whole competition very unfair. I mean you spend your entire 70 odd days eating almost exclusively fish whereas William has a balanced diet , so can stay much healthier in general. I am not casting doubt on William's victory, I am sure he has amazing all round skills. But when 500,000 dollars is at stake I can understand some contestants feeling envious of a rival who has inherited by luck much more productive land. The obvious question at hand is what if you had Williams land, and he had yours, would the outcome have been the same? A question that one can only speculate on.
No salt, that is only an option as one of your 10 items. The only other items are safety gear, such as an inflatable life jacket, bear spray and satellite phone.
Oh don't leave us hanging on the drama! Hahaha bet we see part II. I enjoyed your tenacity and I do hope you have "no regrets" with the tap out. I think you got something that couldn't be fixed in 365 days. You are different. I hope you get to do more outdoors. Ever think of hiking the Daniel Boone Forest? I enjoyed you very much and hope to see more positive things happen for you because you deserve happiness.
@@loua3032 Honestly, I don’t think there is a better place to learn than by watching Alone. A lot of people writing survival books have never actually survived long term in the wild. Mors Kohanski has some great books on survival and bushcraft. They are very worth checking out. They are out of print though, so can be overpriced in the used market.
The prior seasons of Alone that feature return contestants has a weird dynamic; many of them drop out early since they know the pain that is entailed (basically as soon as they land). Really seems to take a bunch out of you that you might never get back.
@@jlewicki16 Yes that did seem to happen to some. It probably depends on how rough they were when they left the previous season. Many come out in tough shape! Think about how bad Dave was (Season 3) when he went home. I’m not surprised he tapped out in season 5.
Life is like a stream full of river pebbles....each of us, as we encounter other pebbles/people on our journey, cause a bit of friction, which rounds off our sharp edges. Along our journey of life we help each other in this way. As an introvert, it is sometimes hard to tolerate the drama, commotion and friction of others...but it makes us more refined as we go along our journey. Just remember to keep time for yourself in nature to recover. I know that always helps me.❤
Dub - maybe you have talked about this already but regarding your illness, can you elaborate what happened? You mentioned that you had lots of fish so when I saw you were keeping fish in your shelter (where you had a fire) it surprised me. Is that what made you sick? How close were you to tapping out when you were sick? By the way, your eyes are shockingly beautiful; similar to my own husband. I say that, so when I say. I hope your “drama” eases and is really enjoyable. You deserve a wonderful partner.
Honestly, I’m still not sure what happened. I have assumed it was the shrew feces I accidentally consumed. The fish I had stored in there were off to the side and covered with spruce bows. It was always quite frozen over there. I was going to wait another week to see if I got better before tapping from that illness. If I would have had a med check, I bet they would have pulled me out. Thanks for the great comments!

I’m not sure I’m allowed to disclose that. I will say it was enough to pay most peoples bills without a problem. Sorry James. Thats the best I can do for that question.
Oh come on now Dub! Homebound people that have small lives need to have some vicarious enjoyment from your drama. You can give us a little more tease??
On the subject of drama I assume you are having problems with women since becoming famous on the show. I would be very cautious and would avoid approaches from any women who did not know you before the show. The same sort of thing even happens with serial killers, whereby very troubled and trashy women want to hook up with them purely due to fame. These scenarios will lead to misery 99% of the time.
