You are 100% correct in your video. I am one who has fallen victim to the breaks and box breaks/case breaks! It's like a scratch off lottery ticket. You play two or three times and get nothing exciting. Then you try your luck again two or three more times. Then all of a sudden!!! BAAAMMM! You were pulled a serious heater rookie patch auto! The adrenaline starts flowing and you tell yourself, hell it happend once, it will happen again! It's a revolving door of ups and downs!
You are right, but even more important is when you open and sell the cards themselves. Hype of 2023 class is over, you’ll see the likes of Gibbs and Addison prizm silvers sell under $10 now even though they are having good sophomore years. Forget about the guys that have lost their steam like laporta and the qbs not named Stroud. Regarding breaks, it helps if you are more picky. Get in a break that works out to be cheaper than what the cost is. Happens once in a while in a low bidding room.
Great advice sir, I do fear that too many people are in this for the money and not collecting. I hope the card speculators that just want a quick buck leave and never comeback.
Hi Eric, When you say prizm. does this also go for baseball cards or just mainly Football and Basket ball. I read that Baseball goes more for Topps Chrome and Bowmans.
Thanks for the breakdown of breaking. I did well at first, got smoked a few times, and I agree that it’s not a winning long term adventure in cards. I never saw it from the perspective of how much extra your paying for the box as a whole, Love your content.
The highest I ever paid for a break was $60, I get ya point but I don’t think this applies unless your paying over $100 a team, if I spend $120 I usually would get 3 teams but idk I gotta do some better math to see if it adds up
So the thing about it is what if I have no desire to join break, after break, after break of the same product. What if I only wanna join 1 or 2 breaks of let’s just stick with the case you used as an example. Then after I do 2 breaks, I don’t join anymore. That formula doesn’t add up. I spent $240-$260 on 2 spots, maybe I hit or maybe I don’t but I didn’t spend $3,000 on a personal box for myself and who knows, maybe hit good, maybe strikeout
Buying a team in a break is the way to grow your PC (personal collection) and bro your vid is all over the place your telling us what we already know prizm was the best product in the past however in 2024 you definitely wanna be opening up some phoenix hobby or hoops premium hobby they are way better than prizm prizm is the worst product in 2024 they pumped and dumped it bro everyone thats a part of the hobby knows that bro and then your telling us about grading like i thought this ways a best product to open vid not a best product to rip and grade but other than that great vid you just got a new follower!!
I disagree. If they made the cards more valuable to open, then people would buy more!!! If i made $100 guaranteed every box i bought, I'd buy more boxes....... It's that simple

Actually buying in breaks is the best way to collect your favorite players and chase the bigger ones if you have a bit more money
Thx video brother, been meaning to learn more about this.
You're welcome! Glad the video was helpful.
Thanks for the video
Question, how do you figure out what a card will be worth when it's graded to figure out if ita worth grading at all.
