      Nice sleeving and tubing! At 3:52, isn't the TIM quantity well over requirements ? Either for a CPU (shown later in the clip) or a GPU, the same principles should apply. Or is there a specific reason for this ?

    I have respect for people who use acrylic tubes instead of flexible ones. But when you sleeve your own PSU cables, damn man, that's another level of respect.

    • @zahidshabir4038
      @zahidshabir4038 5 років тому +152

      He said in some video a few months back that he does it because the cables are truly custom as you can do so much more with them as just ordering a custom length is one thing but he said most made to order cables are not specific to the whole of your system they are only made to work with your PSU and are just rough estimates whereas this way you can cut the exact lengths without even measuring them (just run the the cables through and then cut it when you feel it is long enough) and you can make the inside wire of each cable shorter where the bends are as it puts pressure on the whole cable if it is bent but if on one side there is excess cable

      @Omniscient that is nothing the MOST SUBSCRIBED PC water cooling enthusiast JayzTwoCents does that and I have seen it in other youtubers videos too also a pro bending kit can cost like $200 which is not even part of your PC

      @@owzmo ...lol. In which case I would use angle fittings rather than trying to bend glass ;). Or Acrylic rather than PETG tubes, since acrylic has a neater glass look and can be bent more easily than glass. Else, for a "real thing" I'd go with copper tubing and call the plumber :)...

      I'm an applications engineer and I've made industrial grade harnesses with sealed connectors and such, to bring with me on field works. I can tell you that the craftsmanship in this sort of tings is nothing more than using the right materials with the right tools in the right way. Once you got used to making them it becomes pretty tedious and a lot less glamorous than shown in this video, I can personally attest to that.

      who knows, probably just to test if all the components work and weren't shipped dead on arrival. if he would have gone straight to watercooling and is gonna test it for the first time and it doesn't work, then he would have to first drain the system before he can remove and replace the parts. on the otherside it could also be so he can measure the cable length for his custom work. but all in all... even if it was going to be air cooled it still looks amazing.

    Video card & Motherboard Manufacturer's, if you're reading this... We need you to finally put the pci-e power connectors for your video cards towards the bottom of the cards 180 degrees... (facing down, towards the motherboard), and a hole in the the motherboard to bring that pci-e cable up from the reverse side of the motherboard, and into those video card power slots.
    Too many a cable management job looks almost flawless, except for the nice, HUGE bundle of pci-e power connectors staring at us in the face, right on top of those cards where we can only do our best to route them without making things look like a cable waterslide into the darkness of our cases.
