You all realize that shoes are the most essential tools of his trade, right? And why pay for a large place when you live most of your life outside in the mountains of the world? I think you've got your priorities straight, Tony.
What do you need a big appartment for, if you spend 80 % of your time outside? If you ran for 20 years and could have your shoes for free, I think that over the years you would collect about the same amount.
for the people remarking about this being too many shoes... first, it is his job. pack everything in your office into your bedroom and see how that goes. but a general rule of thumb, even though la sportiva's last a LONG time, is to put no more than 300 miles on a pair of shoes, before they become bad for your body to wear. there are ultra runners who run 300 miles per WEEK... so actually, he has less shoes than i thought he would have
I’m not sure ultra runners make much money to be honest. They are the surfers of the mountains dude! I don’t think he’s about the $$$ and more about the great outdoors.
Heel striking isnt really that bad depends on the pace you're going. Gradually most runners whether realizing it or not tend to move up on their midfoot the most ideal place to land according to most studies is actually outside the heel and up through the edge and pushing off from your second toe. Anything else really leads to damage.

he barely ever runs. he has killed his body with his reckless approach to training.
@@archaic100 woopsy, this didn’t age well

so tidy given amount of gear in that space - congrats my man
I thought for a minute there that he was going to open the microwave oven and show more shoes :)
My dream apartment!

WOW. I wonder how many shoes he has in all
Someone get this man a Bubba Gump hat
Anyone remember this. In the Saucony commercial in 2011 last night? That heel striking was painful to watch

Soles4Souls collects gently used shoes for distribution in other countries.
So many shitty comments hah this video rules!

How do you make money?
outdoor companies sponsor him and he also helps them in designing shoes and all by giving feedback.
As he makes money with the sponsors, if you purchase a shoe of his brand you also helps him to get one more shoe...ok, he already has too much.
Shoe overkill...
Kearress no such thing
But why so many shoes???
he gets them for free ;)
he is a sponsored athlete and he has to test all the shoes.
he doesn't test squat.. his running career is over. he's been injured for over 2-3 years now.
That must be a smelly apartment...
Dude, really, donate the shoes.
Sad
wtf
So explain to me how this lifestyle represents simple living?
Matt Bos Because all he does is sleep, eat and run/cycle/ski. Simple
and yet he owns enough gear for 10 lifetimes.
@TND Running
Matt Bos because he's sponsored.. that's where all that gear came from. It is a simple life.
I thought he's meant to be a minimalist ? 🤔
Why so many shoes or better why is the "living area" so tiny?
I guess he only crashes there as he's out all the time.
Yeah. I suppose so. I think he lives elsewhere
