Bought this right after Thanksgiving. Got it on the table a LOT over Christmas vacation.
Lots of losing, but great fun doing it! I was tracking my plays on BGG...finally won on my 25th play! Then I decided I needed to relish that and put it back on the shelf! War weariness came VERY late in the deck and Lenin showed up at the absolute perfect time for me.
It's a great game with great production values. However, as someone else said, the historical text is tiny and the regular text is even rather small. The font and italics on the historical text make it even harder to read. Still, great game.

I spent about half of my game time in 2023 playing States of Siege games. Ottoman Sunset and Hapsburg Eclipse are by far the 2 toughest. I cant imagine ever winning the combined game

Table Top Tycoon got a lot of grief when they first took over Victory Point Games but they have been putting out some solid versions of State of Siege games. Also purchased Ottoman Sunset from them. Hope they will redo Lost Cause and Mound builders to the same standard.

Didn't know that Victory Point Games had been "bought out." I'd been hoping that one day I'd see a deluxe treatment of the VPG solitaire game "Barbarossa: You, Alone and the Russian Front." I never had so much fun losing a game as I did the first time I played it. The game map is EXACTLY the same, hex for hex, as the GMT game "No Retreat The Russian Front," which I believe that GMT acquired from VPG.

I have this one and Ottoman Sunset. Both are excellent. Haven’t won this one yet; have won Ottoman Sunset once. In Hapsburg Eclipse you’re managing Minority loyalty, National will and enemy advances to Vienna and can lose via any one of these three. Challenging but fun.

Thanks Grant! That looks great - really spiffy. I'm hoping (beyond hope) that 'Zulus at the Ramparts' will get the glow up and reprinting with similar components and production qualities.

Thx for showing this. Haven't heard of this before but I am a huge fan of the SoS games. Will get it when it is available again in GER.

Is Endurance the Hollandspiele game, Grant? What do you think of it? I was literally just on their site 5 minutes ago looking at that. Like the idea of it.

From Hollandspiele and it’s great. Very thematic.

Wow!! - the font size on those cards is microscopic.
Why would they not use tarot card size? Really poor decision there
