BreezyComfort AC Scam and Review, Fully Explained

  • The BreezyComfort AC scam and reviews (or BreezyComforts Portable AC) are what this video is all about. I noticed this product marketed in Facebook and Instagram ads with deceptive videos. This is not a new scam tactic. Scammers often use deceptive videos in online ads to further their scams. The ads tell a fabricated story about a supposed former NASA Engineer from Houston named Steve, who supposedly invented the BreezyComfort Portable AC. Remarkably, Steve has no last name. The ads boast that this device can chill an entire room down from 93 degrees to 63 degrees in minutes. However, this claim is entirely false. If such a device existed and worked, it would be appearing in a lot more spots online than some obscure ads.
    The BreezyComfort Portable AC is apparently just another scam where a cheap, generic portable air conditioner or air cooler or chiller product from Amazon and Temu is rebranded and marketed with a flashy name. Scammers inflate the price and use misleading advertisements to sell as many units as possible. Despite the high-tech and revolutionary claims, this product is simply a standard air cooler, not a true air conditioner.
    What’s really happening with the scam is that these scammers are taking advantage of the current demand in June 2024 for affordable solutions to cool homes, especially during these hot summer months. The scammers hope to persuade unsuspecting buyers with their idiotic promises and false endorsements. The BreezyComfort Portable AC is likely manufactured in China by an unknown company, further adding to the weird origins of this so-called innovative product. Plenty of good products are manufactured in China but my point is I bet this product is also manufactured in the country, except by a company that won't reveal its identity.
    If anyone out there wishes to know why I made this video but did not purchase the BreezyComfort AC portable cooler to publish a normal review, I hope you'll understand I don't make it a practice of mine to purchase scam products with video ads that lie to my face. Big surprise, right? If you don't understand that, I really don't know what to tell you. If someone lied to your face, would you hand them some of your money? No, of course not.
    Note: I used ChatGPT to help me write portions of this UA-cam video text description. If scammers are going to scam people with AI, I am going to use AI right back at them here on my personal UA-cam channel.

      Right? So bold of them to show these clips of how a NASA engineer performed "reverse engineering" an "aircon" system and showing makeshift frosted copper coils as if it's really some prototype of a souped up refrigeration system. The product is a fan blowing air across a wet sponge.

  • @kinokind293
    @kinokind293 7 днів тому +6

    Yes, I was amused to see that this very video was interrupted by a "Breezy Comfort" ad. As another AC guy said, this is a simple evaporative cooler. What used to be called a "Swamp Cooler". It cools air by evaporating water in a filter which has air blown across it. The cooling only happens if your humidity is low, and the air is only slightly cooled and at the expense of raising the relative humidity in the room. If your humidity is high, this will do nothing except ad to it. It in no way will do what is claimed. The laws of physics haven't changed, you can't get something for nothing. This is a fan with a filter that absorbs water, and a water tank. That's all. There is nothing like those frosty copper coils shown in the video. It should be a hint when the company website has no contact information on it!

    This is nothing but an evaporative cooler. They work fine in hot, dry climates where the humidity is below 50%, but the closer the humidity gets to 50%, the less effective they are. In a place like Missouri, where the humidity rarely drops below 80%, they're completely useless. But even in a dry climate, this unit is too small to do much good. It might cool your bathroom, but certainly not your whole house.
    I used to live in Tuscon, AZ, where most houses came standard with evaporative cooling, but the fan on those had to be huge to move air through the whole house. It worked great, and kept the house cool in the hottest weather, but the average humidity in Arizona is
    20% to 35% in the desert. So, if you live in a dry state like NM or NV, it will keep you cool if you put it on your desk blowing directly into your face. Otherwise, not so much.

    Its nothing more than a mini swamp cooler. I grow up with them, cleaning and fixing them as a teenager and young adult. (58 now) the reason swamp coolers word is that you are using the mass of 3 square meters of cooling pads that are being constantly drenched by water, and a large fan sucking the air through the pads, cooling the are as it does so. The moter on the typical swamp cooler is 1HP. Which is about 15x the typical house fan. Dont be foold by this device, it does blow out slightly cooed air bit it couldnt cool off a 4ft x 4ft closet, muchless a house or even a small bedroom. As a desktop work fan it might cool you a bit but thats just because it is blowing on you directly.

Jordan is 100% on point. Do your research. I tried to see reviews for this product and could not find a single one from a trusted site in the entire first page. Thanks for the video, but let me add a data point. Yes rooms get to 90 degrees plus. I live in in Honolulu, Hawaii. My room faces the West so it gets hit by the sun all afternoon and my room thermometer hits 90+ very often in the summer. I have 19” windows (jealousies) so I can’t install a regular AC so I just put in a 6000 BTU “portable” air conditioner that sits inside the room but vents air outside via a hose. My room is now a frosty 84 degrees. That may seem hot to some, but you will not hear me complaining!

  • @rds766
    @rds766 28 днів тому +4

    It is a cheap imitation of an evaporative or swamp cooler. The real ones, which are far larger, work to cool the air, but nothing at all like a traditional air conditioner. Evaporative coolers will NOT work in high humidity areas. A battery-operated unit like this is next to worthless. If you live an an extremely low humidity 20SF space, it may possibly cool it a little bit. This is a TOTAL scam.

    You should have stated that this is an opinion piece and that you feel it’s a scam instead of putting the review into your video title. I don’t own the product but I was doing research on it. When you put review in your video I clicked it to see said review but found an opinion piece and how you felt it was a scam. That’s fine but there was no actual review of said product and an excuse as to why you didn’t actually buy the product for a review. That’s my only problem with your video.

    • @Tater-Skinz
      @Tater-Skinz 9 днів тому

      It's a fact piece. He stated nothing but facts. It's a swamp cooler, NOT a AC unit. There is absolutely NOTHING in this POS unit that actually cools the air other than water. It's a glorified humidifier with a fan and nothing more. In humid areas LIKE FLORIDA, it is completely USELESS. It's a scam and landfill junk! The ad is an ABSOLUTE LIE that shows copper cooling coils while there is no actual copper coils in this POS!.... *FACTS!*

    • @TroaTravis
      @TroaTravis 8 днів тому

      No. It's a scam. The ad shows compressor coils being soldered together. It does not contain those. It is an evaporative cooler. It advertises being able to cool a medium sized room thirty degrees in "just a few minutes". Even with an infinite water supply, any fan that can last several hours on a 200mAh battery will move as much air as a cat's fart.
      In short, the claims are impossible. Therefore it's a scam.

      It's an evaporative cooler. Water turns from liquid to vapor, absorbing thermal energy in the process. Hold a wet towel in front of a fan for demonstration.

    Steve was in charge of moon shots and now he's giving away his invention. Steve is a hero on so many levels. Be like Steve. We need more Steves at this troubled time of our history.

    This video was a waste of 9 minutes of my life. All you did was watch the commercial we’ve already seen and add commentary. And I had to watch like 4 ads just to learn nothing from you. Thanks!

    I am always thankful when there are people willing to debunk scams and inform the public. However, your credibility takes a hit because of your own inaccurate information that you include in the video.
    You state in the video that it is incredulous that the interior of the house could get to 93⁰ and in your house, it's never gone above 85⁰. I have no air conditioning in my split level house and have thermometers on each floor. Right now in July, it gets up to between 88 and 90⁰ on the ground level floor, and up to 5⁰ higher on the second floor, and we are not yet in the hottest month of August. This is the reason I was looking at this device in the first place.
    Putting misinformation like this in your video undermines your credibility because when people like myself hear statements like this that we know to be untrue, we think "What else has he said in this video that is inaccurate or untrue?". I would consider editing or redoing the video to cut those misstatements out.
