PLA tends to become soft at as low as 55-60C, so the ambient temperature inside the enclosure, conducted through the extruder gears, combined with the force applied by the gears on the filament, is enough to damage the filament as it is fed through the extruder. It doesn't need to get anywhere near 180C. Personally, I've run the printer fully enclosed with a small usb desk fan aimed at the extruder as a precaution, and I've had no issue. I'm planning to mount a small 24v 40mm fan outside the enclosure for this.
I've had no issues running it stock at all
The root cause of the extruder overheat problem is incorrect settings of the stepper motor currents. I have set the Vref values on mine board as follows X,Y,E - 0.9V and Z - 1.4V. Correct the Vref and you will no need a fan to cool down the extruder gear.
@@simeonbodurov I'm thinking of getting one of these. Do you adjust the vref in SW or is it a pot on the driver?
@ You have to adujust it on the pot of the driver, because TMC drivers on Creality mainboard are in standalone mode and does not have uart connection to the processor.
Nice that someone makes a video about this printer, I enjoined them both. Your print looks beautiful! Can I ask which G Code and quality you are using, thanks I look forward for more videos!
hi, i used the ender 5 profile on cura and adjusted the build plate size, i also tried out crealitys slicer and that works very well to
@@BeaniesHobbies thanks!
The board comes set to run the extruder at 1.4v and it should be 1v. This setting is easily corrected. Look to the Facebook group for instructions.
The noobs who have over heating extruders, have an issue where the hotend fan is not working when printing. A UA-camr showed where he opens the bottom and checked the wiring and found one of the hotend fan wires was not connected probably. He reattached and the fan worked all the time. Figure that Creality build quality isn't A1 lol.
Hello :
Neither Creality Slicer nor Ultimaker Cura includes this model yet.
What slicer do you use and how do you configure the parameters of the machine?
Thanks
Hi, creality slicer does have this printer on it, go to creality.com and download it from there they have a new version which is actually quite good
@@BeaniesHobbies You're right, I downloaded it recently but I didn't choose the latest version.
Is very good
Thank you very much friend
@@manuelgodoyfortes2313 no worries, happy printing
Hello, I'm having a problem. A device with the feature of restarting when the electricity goes out, my tray goes down and when we start it from the same place again, the tray stays down, the device works in vain, how can we solve this?
How do you find having the filament loaded at the back. I have a Flashforge creator pro 2 and that has the same setup but has two roles as it's an idex printer. I ended up making some front spool holders that bolt on with existing screws. Thanks for sharing.
What are the benefits to run this new firmware version you changed ? I am printing PLA with no problem on the stock config just turning on the 2 fans on the back.
Is this one better than your Ender 6 in terms of print quality?
Hey can u make a collection video were we see all of ur stuff
Hi, yes I can do once I've moved to a bigger workshop which will be later this year
@@BeaniesHobbies 🔥🔥🔥
@@aagaming1237 you want to see ally printers? Or collectables as I have lots of everything lol 😆
@@BeaniesHobbies yea
Would you say that the print quality is better than your Ender 6?
Hi, yes the print quality is better than the ender 6 but it is like 4 times the price
Here in Australia it's actually $50 cheaper than the Ender 6.
@@weirdos_christian_book_club hi, sorry i thought you were talking about the cr3040 lol this is not a bad printer but has quite a small buid plate, in all fairness i sold mine but i have just brought another one as going to instll bltouch into it, so stay tuned for an install video on that
Man I just got mine today. Whenever I try to level the bed, it starts sounding as if I were drilling through concrete.... So incredibly disappointed. Some people say this is normal and happens occasionally, but for me it's literally EVERY TIME.
Did you have this problem at all?
Check to make sure your end stop switches are all correctly plugged in
Is it absolutely necessary to update the firmware?
Ive extracted it but its still in bin not hex... how do I get the hex file?
How quiet is the machine
I follow the steps and now the screen is freezed on load screen.
Can anybody help me?
I'm having the same issue, have you fixed it?
