  • A lecture given in Vienna on November 13,1998
Thich Nhat Hanh (1926-2022) was a Buddhist monk of Vietnamese descent.
He lectured throughout the world. His long-standing championship of the causes of peace and social justice have made him widely known.
The author of numerous books, Thich Nhat Hanh lived in exile in France, where he founded "Plum Village", a community for Buddhist practitioners.
Thich Nhat Hanh's very personal manner of explaining Buddhist teachings and methods and his thorough understanding of the western world made his lectures a special experience.
This lecture, which took place in the Austria Center Vienna in November 1998, was organised by the Austrian Buddhist Community. More than 1.000 people came to see and hear Thich Nhat Hanh. Before and after the lecture monks and nuns of Plum Village performed traditional chants.
