- A new trailer for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor premiered at the game awards, and we’re here to breakdown the biggest gameplay changes from Jedi: Fallen Order.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor promises tons of new gameplay changes from the reveal trailer alone. Our immediate reaction was to comb through all the hints to bring you news of what’s changing in this Fallen Order sequel. There are new force powers, enemy types, and maybe even a reference to Starkiller from The Force Unleashed? We’ll all find out more when Jedi Survivor launches on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC March 17th, 2023.

How is dismemberment rectified? You could do that to droids and creatures on the first one. It's the humans you couldn't do it to.
Om just wondering why they cant make it an option to toggle off or on?
It has something to do with the contract with disney. They can dismember a human/humanoid if it’s story related and only on the hands. Not sure how accurate my info is but that’s what I’ve read before

In the Obi-wan series there's lots of dismemberment. A stormtrooper falls on a Lazer fence and gets sliced right in half during one scene for example. Maybe it's because fallen order and Jedi survivor are videogames and they Don't want it going beyond a Teen rating.

Yea. Lightsabers can kinda get a pass since they cauterize and don’t spill gallons of blood
Also: Cal has a GUN. Like dude, that's pretty neat. You never see a Jedi with a blaster. I'm hoping for a pirate style sword and pistol option.
Have you never played the star wars jedi knight series? Jedi outcast and Jedi Academy.

Considering Cal Kestis is the new Kyle Katarn, I'd say you're not super familiar with old SW lore. Which to my mind, is still the best lore.

Could be used similar to Bloodborne's weapons. So not as a main damage dealer but to quickly stun your enemy.
Also the lightsaber wielded by the bounty hunter has the same hilt and it looks like the same crossguard as the one we later see Cal used, just kinda folded up

If Eno Cordova appears in the game , it's likely Cal will learn new jedi abilities from him, even more so if he has tracked the remaining Zeffo . Cordova was one of the order's best duelists and mastered the Force ability, Force Shield and Force Immunity, giving cal bonuses against dark Side users.
Is there a source about Cordova being one of the best duelists in the jedi order?
Dismemberment on droids has always been a thing. It’s not included for humans on this one or the last one which is a bummer

The last game still had dismemberment on the droids, so far there's nothing new in that department ... Here's hoping they have it on human enemies this time? At the very least, a toggle for it in settings would be nice

Hoping that we can choose what form of lightsaber combat Kal can use
I'm curious if the lightsaber "stances" really ARE just stances, in the sense that you don't customise your lightsaber to have one of four movesets, but rather can switch between them on the fly. Cal had a single saber in this footage and then brought out a second one mid-fight, so I'm guessing it's more of a stance than a customisation? I'd prefer to specialise, but I'm hoping the moveset for each style is substantial enough, whatever way it goes.
Appropriate stances for different enemies per Ghost of Tsushima would be great.
They definitely look like four dynamic stances (single, dual blade, dual wield, cross-guard), expanded from the two from Fallen Order. They did a great job making dual-blade feel completely different in FO so I'm expecting every stance (and every skill/attack for that matter) to be both useful and indispensable
If the last game is anything to go by then the stances are designed to have different strength but no crippling weaknesses. You, the player, decide if you want to specialise in a stance or master severals through your own skills.

Can't some game company make an actual open world rpg Star Wars game that actually allows the player to choose and customize any race including droids and allow the player to choose to be either Jedi, Sith, Bounty Hunter, or Smuggler?

That’s not a dark trooper, it’s a sentry droid from Star Wars Rebels
It's a "DT" Sentry Droid, still related to Dark Troopers. There are different types.
@@klain6408 no, the DT was a reference to the darktroopers but as of yet there is no canon connection. Especially since the dark troopers pre the V3 ones in mando were suits not droids. It’s possible they are proof of concepts for mark 3 darktroopers being droids instead of suits tho, it’s just not confirmed

Dismemberment of droids was in the last game and as someone said hopefully they have it Dismemberment of people.
There was dismemberment in Jedi Fallen Order too, just not in humans, so nothing new here
Hoping they changed you having to run back to your ship at the end of every mission, how about a fast travel option?

at least meditation point act as fast travel point too 😮💨
@@donovanmooney soulsborne games have literally always had fast travel. Demons Souls started it and had it between arch stones (rest points)
The level always change when you have to run back, getting rid of it just mean less content. Also when you run back, you would have opened several shortcut already, making travelling much faster. Sekiro literally disable several fast travel point when the plot called for it
If they just keep refining the basics, this should be great.
They look very similar, but the droids are just sentry droids like the ones that show up in Rebels (Thrawn spars with them at one point), not Dark Troopers
Still really disappointed there isn’t full dismemberment (not just on creatures). Jedi Outcast had it in the early 2000’s and it was still rated T so there’s no reason they couldn’t do it in this series too.

They should develop a Star Wars game that allows players to customize their own characters, fly ships, experience multiple story endings and collect rewards upon completion of the game. The game should also offer a wide variety of activities and mini-games for players to explore and engage with after they have finished the main storyline.

You’re right about it not being a dark trooper but it’s actually a sentry droid from Star Wars Rebels. We saw Thrawn training against them in Season 3.
Dark Troopers are originally from Dark Forces, not Mando.

my only question would be, can we deffend ourselfs inmidiatly after presing an attack button?? in the first one you had to wait for the move to be over to deffend yourself, wich would get you killed
Fallen order is one of those games you really have to study. You can learn the attack patterns and attack when it's safe but the game is designed for parrying. You block an attack combo which stuns the enemy briefly which gives you a window for attack.
@@adammackay5205 is fine if is to parry, but we need to be able to deffend ourselfs in the moment, not after the animation of the attack
My guess is the bounty hunter got the saber from someone he killed. And uses it and has it almost like a trophy.
If he can't just Force pull weapons out of enemy hands i'll be disappointed.
That sort of defeats the gameplay a bit

@@rabertoification the combat was praised by some for being very flashy but criticised in particular from souls like players for being very floaty and lacking depth. Compare it, broadly, to other games with an emphasis on satisfying combat, hollow Knight, sifu, souls borne games etc, it's pretty weak in that regards, but least it has plenty else going for it as well

If you look at some of the preorder bonuses, they have a Han Solo outfit, the Medal Ceremony Luke and an Obi Wan Robes outfit so they are doing whole outfit changes this time instead of just ponchos
