  • We took the Scot to Ruddington Mainline locomotive day,to give it a try on a longer track than the one at Whissendine also to give it a test under load,the results are she still needs so work doing to the cylinders,but still a great day with 19 five inch loco's and 4 ...7 1/4 in action....I think Rosie was trying to drive them all.
    Many thanks to the members that put this event on,plus a special thanks to the catering ladies for keeping us all fed and watered.
    As we had the loco to look after plus try and film the event some shots might not be as long or detailed as they normally would be.
    Plus all filming is done hand held.

      That is a chime whistle,my favourite as well! My Scot has ones but the tone is a lot deeper on the Brit.......Regards Chris.

      We went to Ruddington as we knew it had a good climb and would make her work, also the day was mainline loco's so we killed two birds with one stone....We found out we still have a cylinder or Timing fault so it was a success,now we have got to get it fixed.......Regards Chris

    Seems like you had a good day out Chris! Shame there weren't many electric locomotives running, cause I would've definitely wanted to drive them all, if I was there, like your wife with those steam locos! :)

    • @wooltman
      @wooltman  6 років тому +1

      If the loco battery/electric loco was based on a standard gauge,they would have been made very welcome as everybody else was.Great day out.......Best regards Chris

    It always amuses me to see guys playing with toy trains. Looks outlandish big guys sitting astride them. Could it possibly be a second or third childhood.

    • @wooltman
      @wooltman  2 роки тому

      Hi Pete..It does look a bit odd but who cares. It is my second childhood and I love it...Most of these guys have spent many hours building these beautiful scale locomotives..Now they are enjoying the fruits of their labours...Good luck to them...Cheers Chris

      She dumps it on me and I wanted to do some filming LOL! She was moaning that she didn't drive the 19 five inch loco's as well.She doing well for drives or cab rides this season.Did you get to a track?......Regards Chris

      You can just see the start of the new line at the top of the long straight uphill at 6.25 into the video. The line will dive off to the left across the service road and then through the woodland on the other side eventually coming in at the far end of Parkside station.

    Incorrect Stanier tender on The Royal Scot 6109.This would have been a fowler tender as she is in 1927/28 livery,Stanier tenders were not fitted until 1937/8.

    • @wooltman
      @wooltman  4 роки тому

      The tender was supplied with the loco when built so it stays put William.

    Hi, can someone tell me what gauge this is? Is it called “Standard” gauge? And can anybody tell me the ratio? Thanks

    • @wooltman
      @wooltman  2 роки тому

      Hi Chris..The saying standard gauge means that the loco's are models of the mainline examples, standard gauge is anything that ran or runs on 4' 8 1/2" mainline gauge track...Hope that helps Chris.
