This man is genius thank you!!!!❤ I ordered the cable and it works like a dream! didnt know where my usb/aux was - i found it at the base of the gear stick on my Mini Paceman (just bought it so learning how it all works!😅) Now i can listen to my tunes!
hi im trying to figure out mine right now 😭, do you know if there’s a way to connect the phone to bluetooth and play music from bluetooth like normal?
On my 2012 Mini one D the USB next to the Aux port is constant live, so whatever is left plugged in will drain battery power even when car is turned off with key removed and even when locked, so check this on yours 👍
Mine goes off after a minute or two. I had an USB led light in there. Only comes on when you unlock the car and goes off after a minute or two after locking the car.
My USB & Aux are behind my gear stick at the base.
I have just aquired a Mini Cooper S Paceman 2015 R61.
I just bought that USB Y16 Aux so fingers crossed it works in mine too or I give up. I just want to hear my own music through the car speakers but its never that simple is it😂 You would think Bluetooth alone would do the job😅

I got it and it flashing with a blue light but it doesn’t come up on the phones Bluetooth? Tried several phones

You could give it a go. Hopefully that’ll work but I’m not 100% sure

Just bought one from their eBay store. Thanks for the video. Can you still receive and make calls using your phone and Bluetooth with the mini like before (at the same time this device is connected?)

Turns out that not all Mini Cooper S R56 are the same!
I have the aux jack but not the USB plug how odd, I guess they are keeping the original mini theme where no two mini's are the same lol
Put in an android head unit anyway :D
Can just plug that into the cigarette lighter adapter

Hey, I have the Aux jack, but no usb in. When I plug in my aux cord and connect to phone, it doesn’t register it on the dash board and I can’t play music. Any ideas? Do I need to replace the aux jack somehow?
It won’t register on the dash, just your phone. Just change the music source to be aux on the dash and then play from your phone.

I have an 08 Cooper S and the aux port works with my Motorola android. I'm in the US so I wonder if this is an issue specific to the European market.
It appears a lot of people manage to get their phones to work. I was told on a forum that newer phones don’t work so I thought that’s why mine didn’t work either.
My Mini don't have the USB Port, only the AUX :(
I brought a similar device. Just had the radio replaced as it was dead. Got the car back and was excited to use it but the aux is now dead. Any ideas mate?
I’m not sure about these radios but did you install the replacement? Maybe whoever did didn’t sort the Aux? Have you tried the USB slot to see if that works?
@@Revved_up_jb it went to a mini specialist. They seemed pretty on the ball. Just tested the USB slot and it charged my phone still. Don't think I've got any music device thats USB to test it on annoyingly.
@@chrisfleet999 what sort of device do you have? Is it exactly the same as mine or a little different?
@@Revved_up_jb got to the bottom of it.... the place who did it didn't programme the radio to the car properly so the aux and Bluetooth functions weren't working. Its back with them now and they're going to send it off to get properly repaired. Can't trust anyone these days lol......

Sounds very good but is your phone still connect for handsfree ?
I have a similar device and it also remains connected for hands free calling on mine. I do however like this one as it’s less wiring than I have on my Sony adapter
