The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 has been one of the most difficult cameras to get a hold of in 2024, but can it do more than what we are giving it credit for? Why is everyone trying to snag this camera? I use mine on video shoots, the first thing I always here is "is that it". My response is it's 2024, the technology is better now. This has everything we need. Sometimes I bring extra stuff so it at least "looks" more professional.
Haha I get you, your clients expect you to show up with three cases of material still 😂 while you can do a similar of not better job just with that tiny thing. Like you said it is 2024.

I'm so glad you did this video! I just received my new Osmo Pocket 3 yesterday! We do automotive story telling on YT. Mostly photography but branching out into way more video. I was using a GoPro Hero Black 8 and just wasn't happy at all with the audio options. I'm so excited to start using the Osmo but I need help with learning all the settings, when to use what setting and why, etc. I really want to use this while driving and interviewing the owners of the cars both while driving and outside while walking around the car. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! I know what I like and what I want to accomplish but I'm admittedly weak on the "tech" part of when to adjust and how when it comes to camera speed, lighting, audio settings, etc. Basically, need this stuff very well broken down into easy steps. Thanks!
Just bought one as my main YT camera and it’s great. My only gripe is that it’s quite difficult to film yourself locked off on a tripod because the screen is only on one side of the device. Makes framing yourself difficult. You can get a live view in the Mimo app and do the framing there, but the app constantly disconnects and the whole process is slow.
Triple press the joystick to turn the camera 180 degree
@@Deka069 I know that, but doesn’t help you frame yourself at a distance because you need to be stood next to the camera to adjust it. Can do it with the mobile app as I mentioned, but it’s very cumbersome.

I hope they put this sensor in the action 5 it even better yet, into a point and shoot like the Sony zv1. The gimbal is great but rarely need that functionality. I'd like the action camera toughness or point and shoot screen size and handling.
Great video man keep the pocket 3 videos coming! Bought one and for me it fits on perfectly to my needs. I’m no professional so don’t really have an use for a proper camera but want to do more stuff than just my smartphone to make some nice looking car videos and this is where the pocket 3 shines 😄
Nice work as always mate! I picked one up on my Japan holiday for some travel video and absolutely loved it. Looking forward to getting into some car content now that I'm home, seems to be the perfect 'one-man band' camera for great rolling shots without the need for a full crew of people 😂
Exactly! Being able to do rollers without putting my expensive cameras out a window on a gimbal is kind of a game changer! Such a powerful little thing. Glad to hear you’re enjoying yours also 🙌🏼
I own the DJI Pocket 2, and a few months ago, I purchased the Pocket 3. Unfortunately, I am now disappointed because the screen is malfunctioning despite my careful handling. Since I am on the other side of the world, sending it back for repair is extremely expensive. Am hoping DJI to solve this issue for me.

Does the bluetooth do well in the condition of wanting to record your own car for video while the camera is rigged to another car? What are the proximity limits for the DJI app to the gimble?

i use it all the time for my car videos and it's really working good , it doesn't has the depth but it has the colors
Ya the color retention is great with the 10bit. To get depth on such a wide lens you’d need to get closer to subjects but again with wide lens that will often distort. Thanks so much for watching!

When you record with the Mic are you able to capture both channels from audio so the mic is appended below the internal when editing?

Just got mine today, my local best buy's randomly got some stock?! I was shocked and went to grab one ASAP haha. I sold all my full size gear recently because I just don't have the time or energy for it at the moment, figured this would be a lot easier and more fun to use for the time being.
Nice! Got lucky! I also was looking every where locally. I ordered randomly through Visions electronics (in Canada) and they got it shipped to me in 2 weeks which seems faster than some others. So I got lucky too!

Thanks! I’ve got a decent suction cup and grip arms but they are super expensive haha. I’d suggest something like the Delkin Fat gecko either the double or triple mount. I’ve used those a bunch in the past and for larger sized cameras also.

The wind and air flow doesn't damage the gimbal? I would like to use it on my motorcycle as sometimes I pull higher speeds than usual
I never really went faster than 70kmh. Seemed to work ok! I wonder if a 360 camera would work well for a motorcycle.

Hey! Unfortunately I haven’t put the photos up yet in the store but it’s on my website, says “photos coming soon” and comes with all the luts and more that you saw in this video. I’m terrible at launching new products but they slap pretty hard. My marketing of them could use some work …
I just used it in Pei for a vlog piece and it was so clutch for that - however - I can definitely not shoot proper jobs on this, nor shoot the same high quality. It falls apart quickly, but that’s also not what its for
Definitely, doesn’t hold up to the pro cameras, but is a great tool and very good at “what it does”. Vlogging, rolling shots for cars and tracking. It’s pretty awesome for a small little thing!
do we still think it’s worth the buy even though dji might get banned in the us ?

Nice informed video. How does the mic handle for interviewing/reporting? Do you need two mics or one passed between interviewee? Is it omnidirectional recording or?
You can sync two mics to the one unit if you purchase an additional mic. The dead cat also helps a lot with wind. The 32bit float audio is great quality. Not sure about the directional though, I’m sure you could find out on their website.

I just picked up an Action 4. Where do you get the CPL/ND filter?
I got mine off Amazon, and just got the most cost effective ones I could find that had ND + CPL.
So my big question is: is it possible to lock the camera/ gimbal? I bought the 2nd generation but I didn’t keep it because of the fact that it didn’t hold it self in position while driving through curves.
I haven’t figure it out yet! Maybe a good update? I know if you hold the joystick it stays but I’m not sure how to lock that function yet.

How do you connect the DJI mic and the app at the same time?
Go into settings. Select ‘DJI Auto Mic’……then close that and open ‘Audio Option’ to select DJI Mic Settings Options to turn off all audio inputs except the DJI. After that’s set. go to DJI format audio to get the kbps set to the correct-f1 setting so your camera doesn’t overheat. The DJI will auto set to the correct audio setting once the device is powered off and back on, but ONLY after the DJI audio button is in the unlock position.

Not sure what you mean? I have never been in contact with DJI, I purchased and waited for this camera, just like every other consumer, I make car content on my UA-cam channel and because the automotive community is really loving this camera I made an investment to create a video I thought my community would like.

Interesting point here, and thanks for allowing people to further investigate. That said, the camera works independently, and doesn’t “need” the app to work at all. I use the camera as it is and import the video with the SD card to my computer and do video editing. You do not “need” a phone at all.
