I bought one ,I've had all the GS range over the years, two 1200 triumphs, an 800 tiger and a 900 rallye pro plus other stuff and I have to say that my 800de is right there with the best. Rode it back to back with the transalp and just found the 800de was a leap ahead of the Honda, to my mind that is. The tube tyres are my only concern.
A fine bike but I wouldnt have the spokes with tube tires. My preference is the Guzzi V85TT, tubeless, shaft drive and more character from the Vtwin engine.
I know Colchester Kawasaki is a bit far from you but they're selling new V85TT Tour models for £10499. That includes panniers, cruise control, TPMS, heated grips, higher windshield and a centre stand as well as tubeless spoke rims.😊
To be honest I had the KTM 890R Duke, so I know , kind of the engine. The only issue I have with the KTM would bed. reliability, which is why I got rid of my 890R.....plus it was a bonkers machine and I wanted to keep my licence !😁
Now,tell us,which rides better and its more fun on road, this, tenere or transalp?same heigh as you.also not a hardcore off road rider.i fond it a little weird at the dealer that i sat on it.too wide in general,handlebars,tank,seat...i dont know.also many say about engine heat, which in southern europe will be a big problem at summer.i m gonna commute, some short fun rides and some trips not 1000 miles.so what you say?
Mmmmm. I did find the Tenere too tall for me and a bit basic..... Honda was fine but doesn't have the low down pull of the Suzuki. I rode Triumphs 900 last year and that was very good, but haven't ridden their latest one, which is a bit more expensive, just glad they have now changed the clocks on the TFT display. I haven't ridden the Tuareg.....but the Suzuki would be right up there, would just have to remember about the tubed tyres....so I will sit on the fence Suzuki, Triumph and possibly the Tuareg.
That is with the lack of low end torque of the transalp is what it consern me the most, couse i was leaning for it more.i would go for the re version of the vstrom, but damn is so boring looking.the tiger is way too expensive in my country,11,5k for the transalp 14,5k for the basic tiger

Thanks for sharing
The two rims are mt rims so thy do have the pecial bump so jou kan make them tubles with a special kit
Great review, great bike but why do manufacturers put tubes in, such a Phaff to fix a puncture?
Thanks. I have no doubt they will change that and go tubeless.

Yup interesting machine. Haven't had the chance to ride one of those.
