Hello John, she's turning out beautyfully. And as allways i have an ear to ear smile when I watch wolf that big puppy and the more hungry Buddy, sutch lovely boys.
I was concerned that you might pull off some of the copper plate when you removed the tape. Good job! Another great start, I can't wait to see the lighting test. - Mike
The rubbing strakes along the hull should all be varnished timber - no white one (as seen on the ship today). The ship went through subtle changes in her hull paint since her launching. The white rubbing strake appeared part way though her period in the wool trade under Capt. Woodget. If you wish to reproduce a model that looks pretty much like her at time of launch and in her tea clipper days from China, refer to the model made by Maurice Denny, whose firm completed the building of the ship after the original builders ran out of money. This model I believe can be viewed at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Another feature of the model is the two deck houses and aft saloon, they should should be a dark brown with white highlighted panels (again incorrectly restored on the ship today). This colouring is on the Denny model and can be clearly seen on photos of her in Sydney. She retained the colouring of the deck houses right through to her period with the Spanish.

Thank you very much my friend!!! Yes Buddy is always hungry and Wolf wants always to play with hies ball :)
She looks just the same as when I walked under her this last December. Very well done, John.
I am glad to hear that, thank you very much Colin!!!
I’m surprised the copper plating on the real ship hasn’t been nicked by now considering cost of living here in the UK.
