Robert Smith is one of the last living true rock stars. Especially the way he stood up to Ticketmaster.
Oh I promise you are spot on. I've heard and read that he refused to play Las Vegas because our tickets are astronomical... and he didn't give in. They would have made a lot of money playing here, but so would Las Vegas and the Casinos. Tickets for most bands sometimes start at $600.00. And more even than that. I'm sad that I didn't get to see them but I'm proud that Robert stood his ground. I've seen them play live more than once and the entire band are genius. Just brilliant. Being so close to the stage that Robert's spittle occasionally hits your face...sublime.
Watching this makes me realize the journey all of us went through when we were kids listening to this band. Seeing Robert Smith and The Cure reminds us of the time spent we have now and to look ahead at what's left in our very limited time in this world we live in.
Couldn’t have said it better! This will be my 13th show! I found them when I was 13 years old and I just turned 50! Now I’m taking my 21 year old daughter. Most of my tickets were free though, compliments of Roger.
We saw them last night at Xfinity Center in Massachusetts, It was Amazing, I had goose bumps and cried, It brought back so much good memories! I am 52, I was 13 when i heard them for the first time on MTV.. Robert Smith’s voice is still amazing!! Best ever!
@jt.8144 Cara, você falou tudo. Isso nos remete a um passado longínquo, mas que está guardado com carinho em nossas almas, mentes e corações. Saúde Brother!
I was there with my daughter. Unforgettable show!! Robert Smith’s voice is better than ever.
His voice is still after all these years- EXCELLENT!!!!
It's better
I love when Robert comes out on stage and just walks around and acknowledge the audience as if to say thank you and just takes the moment all in!!❤❤
You think he’s saying thank you?! Bwhahahaha. Oh California people. A bit different than east coast and Europe
@@JohnKnee2023 I just saw them in Seattle last night. What an amazing show!! They haven't lost a step in 40 years!!
@@jasonplymette7510❤ I love and respect Robert Smith . He's awesome 👍😮🎉
He's so amazing 😮❤
Robert Smith is amazing ❤🎉
Thank you for this!! You caught me giving Robert Smith flowers during Plainsong @1:49:30 he sang to me!! 😭 Best. Night. Ever.
So beautiful! 😊 I’m hoping to give Robert a rose at tonight’s show! ❤️🌹 we’re you in the front row?
@@nancysilveira1492 3rd row 😍
Oh wow! That is so awesome ❤
Fantastic show but it's Robert's humble and genuine nature that had me 😭
It always gets me as well. He’s very in tune with the crowd - He seems incredibly sincere and just takes the time and appreciates his fans.

The Cure never disappoint. First saw The Cure as a teenager in 1987 HOT!HOT!HOT! Tour. This time, my family and I enjoyed another iconic show from the greatest band ever. Keep it going Robert Smith! And thank you for all the great songs you've created. My girls love your music!!!!
This music will live forever.
Holy shit. They sound incredible. Robert Smith at the top of his game. A legend. Thank you.
Everybody, please hear guitar maestro Reeves Gabrels' solo on A Night Like This. My fave live song of theirs since Reeves joined the band. It really is a perfect rock song. I loved Reeves in Tin Machine with Bowie, and even more so when reunited with Bowie in his stunning 96-7 shows.
Reeves guitar took those shows to unseen heights.
One of my fave guitarists, Robert must be thrilled to have him on board especially with Robert's love for David Bowie. Thanks a lot for this.
@Danny . . . Yeah, isn't it incredible how the man who were Bowie 's amazing long time lead& collaborator became such a ' perfect fit' for the Cure. A virtuoso, indeed! We also liked Porl Thompson,as lead for many years with Cure. Think he retired early for health reasons. It's so good to read comment acknowledging Reeves. What state is Mountainview in? Colorado? Take care ,& Happy Memorial Day.
Reeves is a perfect fit. I saw him for the first time playing with The Cure as early as 1997 ! He's been around in Cures circles for a while now.
@@mikerice4547 Hey Mike, thanks for your shared love of what Reeves has brought to The Cure. Robert must feel so assured about their live sound, as it is magnificent and they are at their peak. I think Robert can really sing and play with passion and joy just by having such a legendary guitarist with him up front. I live in NZ mate, so im not familiar with that geography, but its real great to meet someone who feels the same about Reeves Gabrels, thankyou mate.
@@allowyou9225 Yes true, he sure is the perfect fit. Great for The Cure and i love how the band look and interact on stage, great to hear from someone who feels the same about this legendary guitarist having played up front with Bowie during one of his many peaks as a stunning live rock artist and performer.
@@allowyou9225 Wow, 1997 thats way back. I can still recall seeing The Cure in the very early 80s and being only a few feet from Robert and the band on a very low stage. Never dreamed he would still be leading them 40yrs later.
The dude continually yelling, “Fuck Yeah!” when Disintegration begins to play is the only dude in the place who knows what’s up!
Going to Vancouver next Friday and taking my 82 yr old mom who loves all of their songs, she recognizes them from films... but doesn't know the names of them (and wonders if RS is the same guy from that other band I loved ( third to Cure 1st & New Order 2nd) ...where the lead singer moans and wails all the time and his voice always gave her a migraine...ME: no mom thats Morrissey from The Smiths..and RS would find that hilarious if you only knew their history / back story" ). I played my Head on the Door cassette until it was eaten by the Oldsmobile out "cruising the Blvd" with all of my girlfriends in mom's white Cutlass Supreme Brougham on Saturday nights in central Missouri 1985-86 until we ran out of gas or gas money!!! 40 yrs waiting to see them LIVE...finally.... BTW: cheers to the person shooting this at 2:20 who does the "boop boop boop boop do do do do do..." on The Walk!!! I was doing it too and it sounded like someone was in my room. We have front row tickets and I hope to hand RS a fresh lei I'm going to make that day from flowers in bloom and pinecones (since we're in the PNW) for the band and thanks to this video I can see approximately how many front stage security guys working...who appear to be Polynesian so I'm make them one too..and show them some real Aloha to welcome them to the PNW 🤙🌺
Me and my family were there. I grew up listening to this. It was very emotional. My kids were there. It took me back to sad days but in a good way. Thank you Rob!!!! Glad I witnessed you.
What time did they go on ? I’m going to tonight’s show
I felt that exact same way!! I almost cried during their concert at the Hollywood Bowl. So many memories of good and bad times. And look..................we are still here......enjoying the CURE with our family!! Just good times! Robert Smith may have aged but his voice did not!!!!!!!! He sounds just as good now as he did when i first saw the Cure in the 80's.
@@andydkid yea we are!!!!!
He said Rob. Lololol
@Andy D Kid Almost. Almost. I'm going to Cleveland and wondering where my box of tissues is gonna go. I cannot wait. It's the highlight of the summer. 3 hours. How am I gonna last.
🌹🕊️ THE CURE IS THE FINAL SOLUTION ❣️
PURE AWESOMENESS 💎
Simon Gallup's Bass is 50% of the Sound & legacy. With Robert Smith's Lyrics & Voice! Together They are the Songs & Sound of Sadness! That's why They are Better Known as "The Cure" For it!
I was there, we took our son,14, his first concert 😅, he's loved "The Forest" since he was 8, he was blown away to see them live, I new it would be worth it!!
From Malaysia. Found the cure when i was kid. Now i am 44. Friday i am in love.
❤ Can't wait. I'm going tomorrow night. Can't believe he performed 29 songs! Amazing ❤
It was so DOPE! He just kept going. The show was NUTZ!
Thank you for sharing this with us. I am 48 years old, I grew up with the goth movement as kid being in my first band at 13 and they were in there mid 20's, and I was turned onto New Model Army, The Mission, Jesus and tne Mary chain etc. The cure never appealed to me until a few years back, I didn't know who it was, but the music was so compelling and hauntingly beautiful, then Robert Smith started singing and i was like oh man!!!
The song was Underneath the stairs. From that moment on, I was hooked. Really have a big spot in my heart for the cure.
So thank you again for sharing this, as it's been a while x.
Wow what a long set! Looking forward to seeing them at the Amphitheater tomorrow! Hope Robert can rest his voice, seems demanding shows so close together.
He can do it. He’s always given extraordinary 3 hour shows!
All those people watching it on their phone screens when they were right there. So sad. Please people, just live the moment.
unforgettable show!!!!!........ I saw them in Albuquerque May 16th....CURE FAN FOREVER!!!!!
Just hope this time Robert and the guys don’t take 7 years to come again !
Thank you 🙏 for posting so sad couldn’t get tickets 🎫 last saw them in 2008
I was heartbroken to have to sell my tickets to this show. THANK YOU SO MUCH🎉❤ for posting and sharing. Words.cannot.convey how much it is appreciated.
We saw them for the second show on May 29th and it was legendary. Was able to take my 21 year old son who I raised on The Cure music and he was blown away at how amazing they sounded live. Unreal the quality of Robert’s voice after all these years and how awesome the played and sounded live, “just like the record” he said. Took me way back to my youth. The Cure is the soundtrack to my life. A fantastic experience to share w my son. 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you very much for the 1st night in Mountain View
I’m 27 and the Cure’s music was a big part of my life in college. I had the chance to see them at this show; I’ve seen many shows but none of them were like this, the set list was magical, the musicianship unrivaled. Stunned at just how great Robert sounded. I’m truly so lucky to be able to see them live and I hope it won’t be my last.
Never know they might tour again to promote their new album. 😂😂
i saw them in Houston may 12…. the best concert experience ever… my girl was with me and it was so magical… he played 60% of the head on the door and i was so blessed…. his voice was so perfect… almost like listening to the track itself 🥺
Was a great show! Great set list and fun crowd. Until next time... Thank you for uploading this ♡
such a gentleman, and briliant artist. thx for yrs of joy sir......
Robert Smith unites and ignites covens of music lovers from all walks of life to meditate on the shadow side as a necessary part of life! This was Truly a Phantasmic performance needed to be experienced in person if you can!🖤

My daughter and I were there!! Such a fantastic night!

Great upload. The sound's really good. WHoever filmed was standing in a sweet spot. Thx.
Seeing them in Philly and I am just so excited… I will be taking my little sister who introduced to the cure years ago, and my aunt who introduced me to them almost 2 decades ago! I’m so excited to share this moment with them.

Thank you so much for posting. I was on the lawn. Sounded great but couldn't see much.
This was so amazing glad I was there 💗🫶🏽
I was there but damn wish i got a seat in front and not a lawn ticket
I think that's one of the best video of a concert of the tour. Outdoor, we can see better Robert and his band and emotions are the same than in real life. I saw them in Nantes in November and that's wonderful to watch all the videos of each concerts of the tour on UA-cam, thanks to everyone that sharing with all the fans the concerts. And again, this video is so good, with high quality so thank you!
Thanks for Sharing !!
