Bordeaux is a beautiful city now. Thirty five years ago when we first arrived in France, all the buildings were black, rubbish everywhere, dog dirt, pretty grim but really exotic in my mind. Then Alan Juppé became the mayor and transformed Bordeaux into the beautiful city it is now 😊
Wow that’s an amazing transformation Tanya and fair play to the mayor. We loved the city and would certainly return to see more. Many thanks indeed for watching and for your comments - very interesting 😁🚌👍
If you go to the end of the main pier in Arcachon you can see the town of Arès in the distance where we've lived for the last 35 years. Have a lovely time 😊
Many thanks @driftingcaravannomad and this particular stop was driven by my sister saying she was visiting Arcachon and Bordeaux so we arranged to meet. More generally I surf around a lot of the Moho social sites and if someone’s post looks good I pin it as a ‘Saved Place’ on Google maps. You can create folders of saved places so I’ve got ‘Places Visited’ , ‘Places to visit’ , ‘Campsites’ , ‘Must Visits’ etc and when I then look at the pins on a full map of France you can see/create a route for the trip depending on time. I also use online ‘best places to go’ type searches and then pin them in my Google map too so I’m never far from a pin!! 😁😁 Hope that helps your nomading 😁🚌☀️
The camera really doesn't show the actual steepness of the dune. I can't remember how many times I've climbed it especially when the children were young, they loved it.
Hi Retro, Many thanks for watching- good to have you along 😁 We stayed at Camping Verdalle which is on the link below. The last episode has a detailed look at the campsite where you can see a fair bit of it and its location. Yes would recommend it; it’s a municipal site so not fancy but all the basics are fine; it was quiet; right next to a great bathing beach and good transport links into Arcachon; staff on site were excellent as is generally the case 😁 maps.app.goo.gl/82NzJEfMdBaZsbqr5?g_st=ic
One of your most enjoyable episodes - bravo!

Super! Thank you. Inspired to visit there now.
You’re very welcome - it was a lovely area 😁☀️🚌

Lovely town, I will put it on my list, you do find some great locations, how do you find them?

Wow it must have seemed immense to them when they were little - kids paradise!!! 😁😍
Excellent, what was the name of the campsite you stayed at and do you recommend it?
