Great Vlog as always guys. Some good ideas for park ups too. Love the spontaneity of the trip - from a very wet & miserable day in the Lake District we were just remarking that next year we’re going to be in the position to just ‘up sticks’ too, can’t wait & looking forward to next instalment. P
Many thanks indeed Peter and yes we’re lucky to be able to do that!! It’s always a good excuse with the eldest in Morzine 😍 You’ll love the freedom next year. I’m looking forward to only booking a one way ticket with no set return date - come back when we fancy!! 🚌
Very interesting - we have also booked DFDS from Newhaven with a return night crossing. It is over £300 cheaper than Brittany Ferries who we've used for the last few years. Although we quite like Brittany sailings, that's quite a difference in price! Anyhow, we'll give it a try and see how it goes - were you both happy with the ship and the service provided?
We were indeed @Bigalb1913 - just a 4 hour hop but facilities were just fine :) I've just booked a one way in Spring and it was only £104 with van plus trailer - could have been as low as £80 for a different day. They also have a weekend offer on for same price as a car in 2024 and I rang this time as I get 20% off cos I'm an old knacker (Over 60 !!) - You have to ring to get the over 60 discount.
Many thanks for watching Jeffrey :) There is a film or two on the channel about it plus the trailer and towbar etc. It’s a 300cc so been fantastic for taking us both up hill and down dale - including the Alps without the engine complaining! We get about 70ish to the gallon of petrol and it’s cheap to buy, tax and insure. Realllllyyyy pleased with it and the extra freedom it gives us to stay outside towns and cities and scooter in to them for free! Parking is always free. Hope that helps if you’re thinking about it - if you need any more info just shout! :)
Hahahaha - they are my more conservative pair Ged - and as for the fur lined slipper crocs ... well they are lush !! It was a fab spot - won't be the last time we're there for the ferry :))
Just a query, when the VB is up, does the front of the van go down, likewise the back of the trailer in the opposite direction? (Ex lorry driver here with memories of bits scraping!) Very envious, hoping to soon be on the continent.
Many thanks for watching watching and I’ve not measured that. I would have thought there would be a slight dip but only very slight as the overall lift at the very back is about 70ish mm. They’re not big amounts but are enough for on site and off site usage plus ferries steep slopes etc, and the big improvement in the handling of the van on the move! Always fancied getting a Class 1 but never got round to it - perhaps I need a bigger Moho so I have an excuse !😂 The Morello Empire Liner we did a film on was a Mercedes Actros truck - what a beaut of a moho !
@@motorhomingadventures its one of my pet hates you think you have it all sorted then you getting going about an hour into your journey the you get a rattle but can you find it never😄
@@andrewthornhill4229 it would drive me nuts tracking them down so I think I’ve put it in the don’t bother category - the road into Newhaven was particularly rough surface as is the M20 coming away from the channel tunnel - welcome to GB 😁
Looking forward to the rest of your journey.
Many thanks indeed Ken and good to have you along :))

Your motorhome does not half rattle when you are driving along
We could probably do more anti rattle moves in the cupboards but it’s never really bothered us Andrew - French roads it’s quiet 😂👍🚌
