Hoovie, I’ve got a bone to pick with you. I made the mistake of watching one of your damn videos a month or two ago, and now I find myself as hooked as a bass having swallowed a lure down to its dorsal fin! You obviously don’t appreciate how disruptive this is to my schedule! I find I not only watch them all the way through, but when a new one pops up, I ignore all the serious stuff I should be doing and like a cat hearing the can opener slicing the lid off a favorite snack - I come a running. Don’t you know the world’s falling apart! Dammit! I have important stuff to do! Thank you! Like an old friend, you take my mind off and away, leading me to a better, timeless happier place. He’ll, I don’t write reviews like this, but I had to get this off my chest. Thanks. Your as channel is as enjoyable as your McLaren is fast and special. May it give you as much pleasure as you provide us old car nuts.
Regarding your question as to why the SLR taillights were replaced as part of the repair I might be able to offer an insight. Maybe there was not a fire in the traditional sense where flames are present but if the wiring harness melted due to a short circuit no doubt there was smoke in the trunk. If any metal in the wiring harness melted those particles were carried by the smoke and settled on the wiring in the trunk. Those metal particles on the exterior of the wiring can form an uninsulated circuit and be the source of a future short circuit. When an electrician says that wiring has been "smoked" they are referring to this condition. It's not merely a cosmetic issue it really goes more to safety. Because a very rare car was being fixed by a very reputable company (Hagerty) I'm sure, in an abundance of caution they made sure it was fixed properly. Kudos to you on the purchase. BTW the explanation of smoked wiring was explained to us when the home my wife and I intended to purchase caught fire after we signed a contract but before title passed. Everything worked out well but the entire home needed to be rewired. Finally a very gracious gesture on gifting the SLK to Magic Mike. Certainly well deserved. A feel good story for all involved.
When I look at the SLR Roadster I can’t help but remember the news segment from OG Top Gear where Clarkson described what would happen to a blue bird if you hit it going 200 mph in this car. Congrats Tyler on this beautiful car. As much as I liked the Superbird I think this is a much better car.

Tyler…what a great guy you are 👏🏻👏🏻
Tyler is a genuine good guy. This one of the channels I miss no episodes. Good job Hoovie.
Absolutely love the SLR! Also a very nice gesture to Mike, thanks Hoovie!
Love the Wizard. Talk about a leader, as soon as Magic Mike said he was working on it 2 days, Wizard stepped in and said taking his time doing it right.
You can't wipe the grin off Magic Mike's face... 😁
One of the reasons I will continue to support your UA-cam channel. Your a great person. You can see it in your videos and project it in your daily life. Keep it up Hoovie
Wow, you are a class act Hoovie... that's what its about... taking people up with you on your ride of success. Kudos!
Magic Mike "Would you be mad if I flipped it?"
Tyler "No you can sell it!"
Magic Mike "No I mean flip it?" lol
Yeah my thought exactly. I thought he meant flip it over, LOL.
Giving away cars to other people never gets old. Great job Tyler!
Great vid and there’s nothing better than letting others know that we appreciate them 🤘🏾
Nice gesture Tyler' Magic Mike seems like a good guy, like you said, but so are you Tyler, that's one of the many reasons why I have been a long time viewer of your channel, well done.
As soon as he realizes he is getting a Mercedes he can't stop giggling LOL I love magic Mike.
Congratulations Magic Mike!
You're unstinting hard work and good nature deserved rewarding in that way.
Hope you can enjoy driving the Merc for awhile before moving it on!
Well done Hoovie!
"he never treat himself to a Mercedes despite of working with them" Maybe that's why... 🤣
that was awesome he gave mike that benz!!!! tyler seems like that kinda guy who would gift a good car as a way to show his appriciation to them
Hoovie, love the SLR, but would you ever give a brief tour of your house? It just looks amazing. Congrats on your success!
Yeah that would be awesome!
It might a bit much from privacy perspective.
Doubt it. Too many weirdos out there. Last thing he needs is a stalker looking at his kids as they sleep.
Just a brief tour, nothing private or really too revealing. Look at Stradman and his new house, you get to see the entire thing. Just a thought, though I get that he may be reluctant.
His house is on Zillow. It is beautiful
