Omg i stumbled on your videos, you are very active on the TUTVid on your website back in 2010, i was still a junior graphic designer and always on your website browsing for tutorials, and stumbling on your video at 12years later as a senior graphic designer makes me feel nostalgic to watch your videos!
This guy single handedly taught me more about graphic design than college. I got my paper from college, but the skills from him. He does a much better job than 90% of teachers.
wow this was amazing! and those little changes made such a huge difference. like having the letter the same height as icon. those tweaks are the difference between a designer and a good designer. I could really see this guy's talent, even with the simplest of examples
When this video ended, I stood up and did a slow clap it was that good. So many helpful tips not just for a beginner user but also for the experienced Illustrator user that may not be aware of new features that have been recently added. My personal favorite was the touch type tip. I do a lot of logos with lettering involved and spacing between letters would sometimes become an issue when looking at the entire aesthetic of the design. This was previously being remedied by the kerning option under the character window but not anymore. I was today years old when I discovered Hamburger icons are very sneaky and will be relying on that option so much more moving forward. Thanks for making such an educational and quality video! You have earned my subscription.
I've gotten really used to CorelDRAW since entering the screen printing world. I'll be switching back to Illustrator thanks to you! Literally pointed out all the little tasks I was used to in Corel..... BRAVO 👏🏻
normally i dont give reviews but maam youre amazing like i tried 2 videos on 2020 and one on 2022 but it wont work but i saw yr video today and it worked as being both content creators i respect your hard work and keep it up
I can't thank you enough for this video, although thinking back over the last 15 years how much time those text alignment and color group tricks would have saved me almost makes me cry... But I'm happy I know them now =D
Cool tips. Love #1 & #11! For Pen tool, I prefer to ignore tangents (for the most part) while building; instead get them close (sometimes not even dragging tangent handles), and then use the Anchor Point tool (CTRL+C) and/or Direct Selection tool to then massage the Beziers more easily. Also, use shapes as much as possible and fuse them together with Unite or Shape Builder. Much faster than worrying about every single tangent as you go. Sometimes uniting can cause some CRAZY anchor points, so next time I run into that I'm going to see if the Smooth tool will help! Global colors also allow you to work with tints. :) I really wish the CTRL+D also worked in Photoshop!!!
....I work in Illustrator a lot. so for my step and repeat I use the transform feature under effects. But I wanna explore a trick where I can have artwork that's not visible on the artboard but it is printable without the command+3 feature. There must be a way to keep a black artboard with content but not viewable. Do you have any ideas?
just seeing tNice tutorials tutorial so glad I did, I was about to go back to jogging in the creek, but now there is hope and inspiration will definitely
