That story about the cheese cake was absolutely precious!! If you haven't done so already, you must definitely write that down, along with the recipe, & pass it on to your children, grandchildren, etc. Those are the things in life that are more precious than gold to me. ❤❤❤
Oh Karen, How sweet you are to walk through your cheesecake recipe that you inherited.💕 So thoughtful of you to go through all the steps of mixing and cooling, etc. Thank you! Also thank you for making me laugh out loud while you were thrifting and came across the owl with the droopy eyes and saying oh, he is making me feel tired. Haha..plus all the great knowledge you share of the items you see. Every time I watch you, you make me want to also sell my things, but I am so afraid of the shipping part, how much to charge and how to list, but one of these days I will get the courage to launch into that big step. I have a room full of boxes and a scale but have to watch more videos on how to do labels etc. you are my favorite U tuber and I watch a lot of different😅 people, but you are my absolute favorite, you just stand out, to be the most sincere and knowledgeable person in how you deliver your information to your viewers. Don’t ever change, you are a natural and I can tell you enjoy doing what😮 you do. 😊❤
That large bohemian wooden bowl could have been sold in your booth while being used to display a collection of smaller boho items, like beaded jewelry pieces, bangles and bracelets, scarves, gloves, etc.
That egg separator is a great find and you should snag it! Skull Cane, yes please we seniors like to be cool if we have to have a cane , it may as well be cool!! Buy!!
Hi Karen, I googled why they say it’s raining cats & dogs” the phrase is to have originated in England in the 17th century. City streets were filthy & heavy rain would occasionally carry along dead animals. Richard Brome’s the City Witt, 1652 has the line” it shall rain dogs & polecats. Also cats & dogs both have ancient associations with bad weather. Interesting! From Darcy. Mission, British Columbia 🤨🇨🇦
I beg to differ... When I was on a bus tour in Ireland, we were told that the thatched roofs of the homes were so low that the family pets could jump onto them and sit there. When it rained heavily, the weight of the cat or dog would be enough to make the wet thatch give way, and the cats and dogs would "rain down" into the house itself. Hence, a heavy rain would mean that it was raining cats and dogs.
I wanted to add that I have my grandma's original springform pan and I have been to intimidated to try making a cheesecake in it! She was a master chef and was the head chef for the school district in the Bay Area of California... I'm going to use it now so thanks again! We love a good cheesecake! ❤
Hi Karen It was so nice meeting you in the Shillington GW! Your so sweet & down to earth! I'm loving your videos & love seeing you go to all the stores in our area! Keep doing what your doing your great!

Here on LI Goodwills are few, we have Savers. Everything so expensive. I find small church thrift stores have better prices Love watching you and Roger, you guys are adorable together. ❤😊

What a sweet story about how you came by this recipe! Love it! I will definitely make this. I already have the springform pan. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us! ❤
I was yelling, "NO!" When you put that dough bowl back on the shelf!! I LOVE those and know others who do as well. You broke my heart 💔 Well, you know your purchasing audience in PA. Quite different than farm country in Midwest 😊 Love your videos! Roger seems like a great guy!
🎂👍🏻 Thanks Karen for the delicious recipe (the family couldn't wait to try it, we had it for breakfast🤣) Also, it is possible to use a hand beater for this recipe. Strawberry pie filling was used for topper.😋
I love how you don’t gatekeep anything. Thank you for sharing everything with us. The story of your ex mother in law and how she acquired the cheese cake recipe is so precious. I have learned so much from you and slowly leveling up my resell game. Still have a long way to go but I’m loving the journey so far! Thank you for all you do for us.
Great you tube! I enjoy your videos so much! I knew right away that you were in the Hummelstown Olde factory antique shop. My husband is from Hummelstown and we have been in the Olde Factory many times. We live in Northern VA and when we go back home to visit family we sometimes go to the Old Factory. Your cheese cake looks delicious. I will definitely have to make it!
I picked up a very dirty Coach bag at a great price. I learned here on UA-cam you can clean the inside with upholstery cleaner. Yes it did work. It looks brand new. Give it a try.
Can't wait to try it!! Such a very sweet family story. I could see them out on their special day and the chef's heart melting for her... Thx so much, Karen!!
I'm sure you have to have a good feel for what your booth buyers are looking for in your area. How encouraging that things are selling so well. Not surprised, you guys know what you're doing.
Thanks for showing us your booth and antique mall. Always enjoy to seeing what you pick up at your Goodwill as that's where i shop in my area in Burnham,Pa. Great haul as usual. Love the vintage hats.
Fretwork is an interlaced decorative design that is either carved in low relief on a solid background, or cut out with a fretsaw or coping saw. Fret Saws are small hand saws, similar to Coping Saws, that are intended for fast turns and maneuverability. These days electric versions, like jigsaws and scroll saws do the same type of work.
The work on that candle luminary looks to be cast metal fretwork. These days such metal trim can be made with CNC milling machines, lasers or computer controlled plasma or water jet cutting machines.
Enjoyed shopping with you today. AND, thanks for going through all of the steps of making this cheesecake. I have wanted to make one for a long time but didn't really know just how to pull it off. And thanks for sharing the recipe. I want to make this one. Blessings!
that egg separator is so funny. Love it! I would have bought that for someone! Those booths where you have yours are great. So easy to go crazy buying there.
Also I was at my parents house and going threw my parents house had my granny Estate had this nice apple basket and I said to my self Karen would love this apple basket
I remember hearing this from a teacher way back, so I don't know if it's true. In the old days of thatched roofs, the pets would lay on top of them. Then in a heavy rain, they would fall through the roof. Could be where that saying comes from.
I love the cheesecake story! Another good one is the vanilla bean cheese cake! So good!!! And thanks for the addresses! I hope to go shopping in Lancaster someday!
Hi, You are doing well with the cheese cake recipe. I understand, and we do chilled cheese cakes more here. But i have cooked a cheese cake. Turned out well. From country Victoria Australia.
Great family cheesecake story!! I frequently make cheesecake with my springform pan and never use a water bath, never have a problem. It starts at a high temp for 20 minutes, then lowered and bake another 30 minutes, then turn off oven and let sit in oven another 30 minutes.
That is so kind of you, to not only share your recipe but to explain it in detail! Thank you for that great tutorial 💕 Definitely will use this recipe! Have you ever used Fresh strawberries, maybe with a little chocolate drizzled over them? This is what I imagine doing. Thanks again! Lucky Roger!

❤thanks for sharing the recipe I’ll try it, I especially appreciate you sharing the story of how your family found the recipe. I am a former chef and have a bed & breakfast so I’ll make this for my family and guests. I was booked 310 days last year. I also sell on eBay following you as my mentor. I just looked up the nodders...Karen, look up comps go back and grab them! But keep one set for your anniversary with Roger ❤ Love you both and your channel!
Thanks so much for sharing the family recipe! I love the story behind it soooooo much! I'm going to add it to my tiny family traditions and hopefully it will carry on for over 50 more years!!😊
OMG! What a super fun and varied video with lots to take in! You are so generous with sharing your cheesecake recipe and its full history. Also your favorite shopping venues; I so hope to get to PA someday and visit them, Thank you Karen! :)
Those kissing nodders were popular many years ago and I've seen them several times since back then. The birdhouse is really cute. I'm about ready to post some of the ones I have for sale. TU for your cheesecake recipe and instructions, Karen! Hugs!
Thank you for the list of stores! Your area is my husband and my favorite area to visit for long weekends. We avoid the touristy stuff and my thing is to thrift and antique and we enjoy traveling the country back roads and finding historical areas to visit. Have you ever been to Clock Tower Cheese Shop in Gap, PA? We visit there each time and make a little picnic out of our purchases. If the weather is nice, we usually go to one of the outdoor picnic table the at Strasburg Train Museum.
I'm so happy for you and Roger that you are having success with your booth. You are fortunate to be in an established thrifting area. A thrift store by me lost their lease due to high rent increases by a new owner of the building on April 1st (sad to see them go). Your cheesecake reminds me of my Mom's with one variation. I don't think they sold pre-made crusts back then.
3 legged saddle seat or stool, folding camping chair...nice find! I agree with grabbing the heart basket and putting back that dish...it was just too wild of a wood print or whatever...it wouldn't fit into most interior designs
Do we love a good cheesecake recipe?
Yes we do! 😆🙌🏼👍🏼🍰
I love the way you talk to us like we are walking alone right next to you. We just Love you and Roger
I carry all of you with me in my heart! I appreciate you guys more than you will ever realize xoxoxo
I just click off videos where people just don’t talk or explain why or why not to pick something up.
Karen you explained the cheesecake perfectly. Great story about your Mother in law. So sweet......
Thanks Kathleen! I tried lol
I am screaming to you Karen. Get it , get it, get it and you got it. The original little golden framed painting...YES!!!!!

Grosses me out
Cane could be used for Halloween dress up or in some sort of scary play.

Nodders pre-date Bobble Heads and the magnets in the Kissing Nodders are great fun!
My nodders were given to me over 60 years ago, I only ever knew them as kissing dolls and yes I still have them.
Bette Davis reference.....that is my girl!!!!! I loved that heart basket. You have helped me develop my eye for glassware...I found a set of 6 port ruby red glasses from colony lately and a wood statuette made of rosewood a Hindi Goddess of Wealth so beautiful. I love art.
That was nice a little clearer Moon start
Love the bird painting in the gold frame!! That white/ivory hay looked like a wedding hat.
What a sweet story about how you came by this recipe!
Love it!
I will definitely make this.

Cheesecake story is adorably epic. ❤
That hat looks very similar to the hat I got married in in the early 80s
Yes ! I was thinking it’s 80’s and probably a bridal hat, which was a thing back in the day
Yes on the wooden bowl and display things inside it too!
That is the sweetest story about the cheesecake, makes it that much more special.
Enjoyed shopping with you today. AND, thanks for going through all of the steps of making this cheesecake. I have wanted to make one for a long time but didn't really know just how to pull it off. And thanks for sharing the recipe. I want to make this one. Blessings!

This is the story I have heard as well. 😺
I heard that from our tour guide when we went to England a few years ago
From a large family also and grateful for my mothers excellent kitchen skills! Thank you Karen for the recipe and that sweet story💜
Those yoga cats were so unique.
Thanks for the video. PA has to be the thrift capital of the US. The inventory there is so good and the prices seem very reasonable.
Love the cheesecake backstory...!
Great family cheesecake story!! I frequently make cheesecake with my springform pan and never use a water bath, never have a problem. It starts at a high temp for 20 minutes, then lowered and bake another 30 minutes, then turn off oven and let sit in oven another 30 minutes.

Definitely will use this recipe!
Have you ever used Fresh strawberries, maybe with a little chocolate drizzled over them? This is what I imagine doing.
Thanks again! Lucky Roger!
I can’t wait to try the cheesecake. It has always seemed so daunting but you make it look so easy.
GA Karen - What a beautiful story regarding your cheesecake. I made one for my mom 30 years ago. It was a disaster to say the least. It never got done in the center. Mom, the good sport that she was, said let's just eat the part that's done. To our surprise, it tasted great, but unfortunately, the rest had to be tossed. Sadly, I never attempted to make another one. Have a good rest of your day.
My dad was always the good sport and ate whatever we baked, no matter how it turned out,
Hello Karen, hope you and Roger had a beautiful Easter 🐇
wonderful family story
Well I didn't get to see my friends Roger and Karen in goodwill, but I did see the dancing pigs figurine that I think was in this video. That was kinda crazy!! On vacay here for sights and sounds and the rest of it, yay! 🩷
Blessings to y'all! 😇
Update: saw Roger in goodwill today! Just as sweet in person. 😊
Love the story behind the cheesecake - I’m going to give it a gon😊
Love the yo-yo doll quilt ❤❤❤
Love watching you both.such amazing sales.❤
The lantern is a very useful decorating piece. I use them all season long. It’s a good pickup. ❤.
That thing that looked like a doily was actually part of a set of couch end table protectors that you would put chachkies or a small lamp on to make things look fancy or to protect the tables, and coffee table runner. My mom had them for years.
I recognized the redwood incense right away. They used to sell them at tourist stopoffs - summer vacations!!!
I found one of the egg separater so cool mine was a little smaller got it for 2 dollars
26:59 - I loved the brass wall sconce! I am looking for one & would have bought it from you:) I love adding just one sconce to a gallery wall, especially a round sconce because it would really soften all of the sharper edges of square/rectangular frames. I know you can’t buy everything though:) Thank you for the longer video. I needed a good relaxing video to watch this evening, so thank you! xo
Ah! The hats!! The pom-pom one and the returned sparkly black ones were my favorites. I collect and wear vintage hats ❤
