It's normal for gestating eggs to be left briefly from time to time. It's part of the way both the temperature and humidity of the eggs are kept at the proper, steady state. In the wild, parents may leave briefly from time to time, for different reasons. When you use an egg incubator for orphaned eggs, you take them out and let them "rest" at room temp briefly before returning them to the incubator, in imitation. The incubator can also turn them at regular intervals, which is important. You imitate nature, because she knows better.

If you read up on Shadow and Jackie’s story, Shadow ran Jackie’s first mate from the nest after Jackie and him tried to scare Shadow away. So in reality Shadow sought Jackie first.
@@chrissyellem7397straight from their website on the history. During the summer when the eagle family was still using the nest with Stormy, an adult male intruder showed up to the nest and with great tenacity, refused to leave no matter how much Jackie, Mr. B and Stormy tried to chase him away. The new male was called Shadow because we initially believed him to be one of Ricky and Lucy’s fledglings named Shadow. Mr. B eventually left the area. It was later determined that this intruder eagle’s plumage showed it to be a year older than the Shadow who was hatched in Big Bear.
